    How do you get these plant to fruit? Our plants are about 6' high, but we haven't been able to get them to bear fruit ever.

    They are thin may be lack of nutrients?

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  6 років тому

      It's mainly a lack of water. We stress the plants by not watering to induce flower budding.

    What is that blue piping around your Dragons ?

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  5 років тому +1

      It's electrical conduit. It's used to protect the plants against the hot metal grid.

    Nice video. Thank you for sharing . I recently found a dragon fruit in the wild. It was huge so I took a section home.It was about 5 feet tall and about 5 inches in diameter . It had a few buds that in a week are now ready to flower. I just hand pollinated the first open flower last night. Keep in mind this plant has no roots yet. Think it will develop fruit ? I found it near Tampa, it looks like the one in your video at 5:58 The healthy grower,lol. The flower was white and very flat when open last night, about hand sized.

      Pruning should be done in November. Tipping in February.

    Can I ask how tall are your plants now not counting the pot itself? And I read on one of your response to a comment that you recommend tipping in February, can you explain what that is and what that does? Thanks!

      My plants a 60 inches or 5 feet tall. I tip to shock the plant. This encourages more flower buds. It also stops the growth of that stem and keeps the plant manageable.

    Is it necessary to cover the pvc with burlap?

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  7 років тому

      It's not if you tie the cuttings to the support.

    Good Job guys,
    Can you help me with design of 8 meters X 50 meters greenhous for Pitaya planting on permanent earth, ( not in pots) the hight of green house , destance between plants
    If i fix the temperature between 20C and 40c Will that help ?

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  7 років тому +2

      I would consider a cable system with T-post if you are planting in the ground. 1.5 meters for each T-post with 2 meter T-post on the ends. I would space each plant 2 meters if different varieties. If you plant all the same varieties the plants can be a little closer.
