    Love your videos. I watched all of them and have been buying cuts from you several times to start a dragon fruit garden like yours. I would like to ask you a few questions regarding the greenhouse that nobody seem asked yet. 1. what is the size of your greenhouse? 2. what is the space between pots and between rows? 3. do you have heaters in your greenhouse and what is the temperature settings? Thank you very much.

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  6 років тому +2

      1. Size is 12X26X12
      2. I have 8 plants on each side
      3. I use heat lamps and they are set to 45 degree F

    • @xiaoli5566

      Thank you very much for the information. How many heat lamps do you have in the greenhouse to keep the temperature inside at 45 degree F? Also is your greenhouse custom-made or bought? If you bought it, where did you buy it? Thank you.

      @@xiaoli5566 First thank you for your orders and repeat business, we truly appreciate it.
      1. I have 8 - 250W lamps with 10" reflectors that draw about 16A on a 20 amp circuit. I also use 10 AWG cable if service is over 50", close by you can use 12 AWG. This is per greenhouse, so 32 total with 4 greenhouses. Running 12 hours over 30 days my electrical bill was over $600 per month. I'm currently experimenting with insolation and wifi enabled PLCs to control the temperature better and drive cost lower. I will post a video soon on the setup. Gas is another option or electrical heaters. But in my area when I apply heat, condensation and humidity occur (really bad) so I choose a smaller source of heat spread throughout the greenhouse to minimize the moisture.
      2. The greenhouse is purchased as a kit. I purchased the first one on Amazon, but now I purchase them direct. It's the same price. They are $300 each + $100 S/H and if you need a replacement cover it $200 or $250 I can't recall. I purchased my first Greenhouse over 8 years ago and they still make the same model today. You can search 12X26 greenhouse and you will find it. The other really nice feature of the kit is its 12" tall unlike most that are 7' or 8'.

    Hi, I've been watching your videos and I have gotten quite a bit of information. However , im looking for some info on fruiting cycles in a year, and can the dragon fruit produce fruit year round in a green house ?
    I have a 20 ×20 green house and would like to grow some of your dragon fruit varieties. Thanks.

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  6 років тому

      Technically yes. The greenhouse needs to have the same conditions of the plant's natural habitat.

  • @TheCLAWaholic

    Hi Tye I was wondering do you water your dragon fruits more when they are flowering and fruiting or do you water them less

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  6 років тому

      I don't water my plants. Only rain water is used. The only time water is done is when we are in a dry period. This may happen once or twice a year.

    I love to watch monkey videos out of Cambodia near the Ankor Wat temple, I see those monkeys eating dragonfruit the size of an over-inflated football, reddish color so are those fruits sweeter since it never gets cold there?

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  6 років тому +2

      The only time the temperature affects the sweetness is when colder temperatures allow the fruit to stay on the vine longer. The plants needs warm temperatures to flower, then the temperature needs to drop. This usually happens on our fall crop. Fruit is deffently sweeter. Sweetness is usually based on the variety.

    What is all the white stuff on the branches? I have a cutting i recently transplanted in a bigger container, and I noticed the growth from the original cutting that climbs up the pole has tured white on one side.

    • @Spicyexotics
      @Spicyexotics  6 років тому

      I do not know what it is called, but it helps that variety deal with heat and cold better than varieties without.

    • @samn106

      @@Spicyexotics Today i noticed its turning yellow and brown. Im thinking its some kind of disease or maybe shock from transplanting.

    Hi there. I am very interested in the Frankie's Red. The picture says out of stock but there is still an add to cart button. Do you have this variety? I really would love to buy a cutting. I have just started with dragon fruits and have two trellises with very young plants on them and a little extra room.

      PVC. They are 5 foot each for two reasons. I buy a 10' joint of pipe and cut in half. 6 foot would be better but you will have waste. Secondly, they fit on the edge of our hoop houses at 5 feet.
