DMC 5 for sure, and one that is a bit more obscure, but i think it did a great, tight experience is death's door, really fun game tighten in a 7-10 hours experience
Playing through Silent Hill 2 for the first time right now and I have to completely agree with this being on the list. I’ve only played five hours but it feels like twenty. The sheer intensity of every single minute and atmosphere of every second is felt in this game in the best way Bravo 👏
splendid channel and content! helps a lot to prioritize my own "to-play" list. Thanks a lot for great work! And yes, parts 2 and 3 of this category are wery awaited and welcome! the only part to be improved imho is a bit more PC content in you lists.
I have to say Terminator Resistance. I thoroughly enjoyed it and played through it a second time right after I finished it. Speaking of Teyon. I can say the same for Robocop Rogue City. Fantastic.
I've done fairly well with fromsoft games but sekiro I just cannot get the parrying down and it makes me sad 😞 I wanna play the game but it's legit not hitting me how the combat works
Bloodborne was one of those games that came to mind. I just replayed it and it really feels like there’s no filler added. I had lots of fun going through the levels again, and it felt as fun as my first time.
Happy to see Chaos Theory make the list. It's my favorite sixth generation game and one of the greatest stealth games ever. While I still prefer the original Thief duology to it, Chaos Theory is the better-paced experience. Some other games that I consider excellently paced: - Chrono Trigger (1995) - Spyro the Dragon (1998) - Ys: The Oath in Felghana (2005) - Disco Elysium (2019) - Filcher (2021) -> Very overlooked gem that's a love-letter to Thief - Ultrakill (Still in Early Access but about 80% complete)
Dead Space! Been a while since I played the OG, but I've been playing the remake recently and it's fantastic. Few cutscenes and long dialogue sequences, but still a pretty cool story. Enough variety in gameplay to keep it fresh and engaging, and introducing new weapons and enemies throughout. There is some optional backtracking, but it's not a chore because the new rooms you can access are usually conveniently close to places you return naturally. Absolute classic and a very tightly designed game, found myself engaged from start to finish.
I believe some of call of duty games could be on this list because they are mostly 6 to 8 hours campaigns with fun set pieces that has a lot of variety and does not waste your time.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 2005 Batman Arkham City I have yet to play but perhaps Star Wars Republic Commando and the Mass Effect games specifically Mass Effect 2 from what I've heard. I would say the Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood if not for some of the side content like beating up the cheating husbands, feather collecting, and pacing of Bonfire of the Vanities in AC 2 and the tailing missions and some of the bonus objectives in Brotherhood.
What an excellent idea for a video! The games that did that for me I would like to try and rank them because I do believe that some did it better than others. 1. Resident Evil 4 (no dlc) 2. Doom 2016 3. Og Dishonored (no dlc) 4. Quake 2 (no dlc's) 5. Bioshock 6. All first 3 Wolfenstein games from Machinegames 7. Nier Automata (1st part) 8. Doom Eternal (no dlc's) 9. Dishonored 2 10. Diablo 2 (no dlc) Yeah dlc's are often unnecessary, thanks! ❤
Personally, good pacing means that the game doesn’t get boring. For example I think TLOU 2 has great pacing since combat, cutscenes, exploration are all well designed. I feel that you are talking about pacing as linearity or short games.
Saw the thumbnail and FOR SURE every Pikmin game (besides the second) really has every moment interesting. Trying to do as much as you can within a single day doesn’t leave any time for soulless grinding. Everyone should play Pikmin in my opinion
Great selection of titles. I actually stopped playing FFVII remake in order to go back to the original. Not that I didn't appreciate the new vision but I just didn't have the time to engage with it like I would have 20 years ago. It also makes me thirsty for water.
Really, Last of Us? The game where you slowly walk around for half the game? Also FF7? A GAME THAT HAS RANDOM ENCOUNTERS??? They are both good games, but this feels like a list of games you liked rather than what the title suggests.
If anything TLOU was wasting so much time I had to switch that garbage off. Long cutscene after cutscene, QTEs and 'puzzles' designed to insult your intelligence, sections of combat/stealth/crafting mechanics weaker than games from the 90s thrown in to justify its existence as a 'game', forced walking and shimmy-ing sequences.. All just to present a long 5/10 B-movie.
Can you make a video where you look at games with very special graphics like Boltgun, Jet Grind Radio, Ultimate spider-man, Transformers Devestation and okami
I hate the open world formula of having inane side quests. I hate soulslikes extending playtime through deaths. Give me a good, linear game with freedom in how to play. Freedom in gameplay is more important than freedom in where to go.
The Last of Us Part I is a masterpiece. Part II is my biggest gaming disappointment. They swung for the fences and missed imo. But I'm glad there are those that did really enjoy it just didn't work for me.
@@dejct I bought the game like 3 years ago on a sale and forgot about it lol, I don't hear much about the game tbh, should I put it higher up on my backlog?
@BlendAl I absolutely freaking loved it lol. It's pretty different from the first one which I also loved! It really depends what kind of games you like, I personally think it's god tier haha
@@TotallyTubularJonathan Oh man, it's hard to say. The first one has monster taming and that is really fun, there's so many to get. the second one has little elemental dudes instead. The combat is also quite different... I have a really hard time choosing which I like more. I would watch some gameplay or the trailers and then decide from those which looks more up your alley. The stories are not related so you can play the 2nd one without playing the first :)
Final fantasy remake is way better than that old potato pixel graphics garbage. At least the remake has better gameplay and better story and its overall more engaging and more fun
Stop saying "Like" all the like, time like, it really like, gets annoying when like, you like, realize, like, you do it all the like, time. It like, lashes me like, a like a... like a whip.
Uncharted trilogy and first Alan wake. I loved as they are short and just fun gameplay with no filler.
Alan wake and fun gameplay? I don’t think sooo
Alan wake had some parts that were stretched. Remember the Concert level
absolute slog to get through in some areas but I'm glad i did, great game
DMC 5 for sure, and one that is a bit more obscure, but i think it did a great, tight experience is death's door, really fun game tighten in a 7-10 hours experience
Dead Space 2 is worthy of a list like this. A perfectly paced 8 hours.
So perfectly paced I started a 2nd play through immediately
I think God of War III definitely deserved a spot on this list - Water
I submit Sekiro to this list. Water

Chaos Theory is GOAT
Hey, thanks for making the video I requested!
you could argue about the long cutscenes and maybe going back for the sniper rifle but mgs1 absolutely flies by and has some incredible momentum
I realized that games that are level based have the best pacing. Shadows of the damned,dmc5,last of us,bioshock, jak and daxter, deathloop etc
Sekiro is my pick its like GO GO GO all the time 😅
I've done fairly well with fromsoft games but sekiro I just cannot get the parrying down and it makes me sad 😞 I wanna play the game but it's legit not hitting me how the combat works

It Takes Two. Play that with your partner or a friend. Just a constant spectacle throughout with completely unique gameplay the entire time.
Please do another video on this topic that would be awesome
the arkham games, all 4 of them 100%
well ig not the riddler trophies lmao
Portal 1 and 2 always come to mind for me

Rollar Coaster Tycoon 3 music? I dig
Hollow Knight! Just a perfect tight gameplay and progression. Even when you have to retrace your steps, it just feels so right!!

man, i also need some water too. good video jonathan.
Water, My pick to this list is definetly Godhand, the game goes at super speed, cutscenes are short and straight to the point.
Ff7 remake has amazing pacing im a new ff player and i loved every minute of it ❤
Star Wars Battlefront 2 2005
Batman Arkham City

Ghost of tsushima. All the side stuff I was actively wanting to engage in it. The story is ofc fantastic too

Literally any ps2 game

Jonathan, where are the timestamps Jonathan ?
@@rakhoo5236 they are there? Hmmm I see them in the description but they aren’t popping up on the video

Call of duty zombies

god of war 2 and 3
