Hello from where I85 crosses the Hooch. I learned that shut up lesson when I was 18. I found a old Ford F100 I6 ,3 on the tree that ran great and wasnt ate up with rust for 300 bucks with a tool box. I was talking to my buddy about it and his older brother over heard me. I was gonna pay the old man 250 and work off the other 50 cleaning out his shed. That A@# Hat of a older brother ran down the next morning and bought it for 300 cash. Pulled up smiling at me bragging about it. . Broke my heart lol. Top it off the jerk got drunk and rolled it in a ditch. He was a little beat up but walked away. So yeah Zip It. I did find a couple fishing rods that this bush just happened to be growing kinda sorta near where he rolled the truck.I was 18 and really pissed off at him and If he hadnt rubbed it in. I might of gavem to him. But Heck guess he didnt wantem anymore. Great Video.

My dad taught me to do something similar when I was younger. There is a lake that we used to fish all the time. My dad knew how to catch big walleye out of this lake. There is a spot and a technique. I don't know how he found out but I haven't hears anyone ever mention it yet till this day. We would come back to the ramp to put the boat on the trailer and that is where we would clean out fish. Between the two of us we could have a live well full of large walleye, yellow perch and crappie. Every time there would be people that want to "be friends." My dad wound always say something like 'all these were caught by the dam with yellow jigheads.' Something that was no where near close to the truth. As soon as these people thought they got the info they wanted they would not hang around much longer. They thought they got the secret spot and they didn't need us any more. I carry this rule of secrecy with me till this day.

The topic you preached on so much there towards the end:
As a jr in high school we read a book in English class. And I'll always remember, there was a phrase out of this book. And our teacher had asked us if any of us knew what it meant.. nobody really did, so she then said, one day, you will come to understand what this phrase means.. when it's of importance to you, that's when it'll hit you.
The phrase is. Nothing gold ever stays
Few years after graduation. I finally understood that phrase. Wholly. Completely. 100%
When we find that honey hole. Or just a nice little chunk of paradise on earth, it's best to keep it to ourselves, because broadcasting it to even a small group ofnppl means that eventually. Word will get out, and it won't be paradise no more, it will be ragged out, trashed, plants and flowers stomped to the dirt, all the wild life driven away.. and it's so hard to get that back!!!!
Social media has been an awesome help, it put me into contact with you all. This group of like minded folks, but its also spoiled quite a bit of locations, activities ect.ect.
    Yall stay safe out there!

I wouldn't have a problem with social media anyway, BECAUSE I closed my Facebook account almost 3 years ago...I ONLY use tube now and it is ok for people to know I live in Kentucky...right amongst the coyotes, coons, possums and other wildlife.
And I had up until June 2022, a mother deer with her triplet fawns growing up in my back yard, but my Farmer neighbor shot ALL of them.
Do I do understand precisely what you are taking about.
My Farmer neighbors also use bow and arrows while on my Land, as to not make any noises on my property.
They know I will come outside in the dark and start shooting in the direction of the noises they make.
I had done it once and they scampered away hollering, so now they use bow and arrows and have this god forsaken noise they make to communicate with one another...
And three of the 5 People who trespass on my Land smoke cigarettes.
I have already learned whether it is my jealous neighbor or the farmer and his two workers who are here, by the directions of the cigarette smoke coming from my woods.

I heard of a truck driver who burned his house during the early days of tracking devices. He dropped his trailer a few hundred miles away and bobtailed to near his house. He didn't think about police taking his tracking device, and its records showing his trail. In that case, he deserved it.

The part about the end, everyone wanting to know your spot when fishing and fisherman need to be liars, reminds me of a conversation with my father-in-law a few years ago. He said a guy he worked with claimed to fish in the same pond/lake as him. But would pull out stuff he never saw. The guy kept saying my FiL would never find the spot on the lake. My FiL always said sure I will, because the guy was a chain smoker and smoked a unique brand of cigarette. My FiL said he walked that lake for years looking for the butts but never found them. He'd find them on other waterways in the area but never on his fav lake.
I said Pah, he probably wasn't on your lake and said that to throw people off. Oh, you probably found his spot but never fished there because it wasn't your lake. :)

I feel the hammock thing could take 10's of minutes, even hours, maybe. As a pre-work out, may I suggest staying perfectly still for a minute. If one can do that work on 2 minutes. Once that is mastered 3 minutes and so on till you can be still for at least 20 minutes. Then try the hammock in the woods. Though if you're like me then you should learn to be still AND stay awake.
