Video idea, with hypothetical aircraft attrition how effective would old ww2 era aircraft be in performing low altitude attacks against modern tanks and APCs being used in Ukraine and would thouse aircraft be able to make it back to safty before a combat air patrol was tasked with an intercept (limmited numbers modern rusian fighters).

You must have run these kinds of scenarios yourself, its what i spend most of my DCS time doing 😄.
I've wondered about this scenario for many years. In a protracted extremely large scale war, after all the high tech stuff is exhausted and the supply chain of high tech is down to a trickle coz of lack of chips etc..... would we end up using low tech, extremely tough turboprop fighters and ground attack aircraft that have been 'modernised' with new materials like carbon fiber etc and modern guns and even simple, analog wire guided rockets etc..... Like if the Douglas A-1 Skyraider and the EMB 314 Super Tucano had offspring together? Imagine some of the recent conflicts eg Syria and Ukraine, that have been fought with lots of 70s era technology.... but on a massive scale with 50s to 70s tech but without the radar and jet aircraft etc. That would be the end state of a world wide scale non-nuclear war after a decade of fighting.....like 2 super heavyweight boxers in the 12th round who are both beyond exhausted, but the final bell never comes. Maybe imagine WW2, but the Soviets got beaten or joined the Axis and nukes were never invented......and it continued for decades and decades. Or the Korean War without jets and on a world wide scale, but with equipment and planes etc being made with modern alloys and composites etc. It'd be fascinating!‽
@@VincentNajger1 People will use whatever they have access to and adapt their TTPs accordingly. We are seeing very old kit being used in Ukraine but up armoured locally and the primary role adapted or changed completely, T55s being used as artillery support or breaching weapons as an example, or more modern MBT being used as Battlefield taxis, something we used MRAPs for is now being done by tanks.

great to hear ello and tuxor, been a while.
Cap, we used to play a game called "Fox and the Hounds" where one person would be the fox and up to 50 people would be the Hounds and the fox had to hide in the woods and blow a whistle every 15 minutes, each time a "Hound" found the Fox they in turn would become the a fox too, there by growing the group. Why not play a similar game with each successful kill switching to become a "Fox" and adding to the defensive fire power? Eventually it would be one plane against 5+ enemy, you could open it up to a larger server and go nuts. Just a thought. I am a huge fan and these videos helped me as a new dad with the "nightshift" when my kid was born. Best of luck boys!

In Australia and New Zealand today was ANZAC day. Just bringing you idea about the use of Australia in an upcoming wargame. Australia now boasts a incredible air force of 60+ f-35s and is now receiving the aim-120d missile. It would be great to see and airforce vs airforce or a redone version of the Chinese invading Australia wargame.
I just got an image in my head of Jeremy Clarkson running from military aircraft in a crappy truck screaming "POWER!!!!" During Cap's run as general😂
i think a Leopard or Gepard is quite speedy for a tank. Even vs. a wheeled truck. That was kind of the point of the design over a wandering Challenger mountain.

@@grimreapers Yeah its very frustrating the way YT is working, i litterally have to hunt down some of the stuff i watch most regularly. Loving the diverse content as well, the campaigns, the stuff like this, the 'so what' stuff. To be honest between gaming and UA-cam ive sacked off my Disney+ and Netflix completely.

I would love to see it staged in a DUSTLESS setting (e.g. western Oregon in any timeframe other than 01-July -thru- Oct 15th.
The persistent plume of orange made it far too easy to track the ground vehicles... perhaps moreso than radar in that the pilots don't have to take their eyes off the direct line of site to locate the groundlings.
Has this game been played with a target consisting of a general-vehicle being protected by 4 white pickups sporting Iglas and Stingers?
Maybe give the bridges a Buk?
I dunno, pretty soon it becomes just another fully fleshed-out combat zone.
Perhaps give the general Spidey-powers and have him swing from the tall buildings of Gotham City.
Give the aircraft 10 70mm rockets, unguided?

Like how cap "cheats" abit when he's on visual.on last one, Tells the helicopter he just flew over even though he didn't see him. Then later warns everyone he's approaching the bridge. Gives the flyers an extra advantage every time. Done in most other videis too but in a game of chide and seek" seems a bit egregious.
Cap cheating a bit, giving call outs on the generals locations.
