This product is based on a company called Q-Safe. They make a spring loaded tree belt for climbing treestands. I called them up years ago before saddle hunting took off and asked them can they make this for a saddle/lineman’s belt. They thought I was crazy….
@@HighHunting38 crazy to hear that! I have ideas all the time and the people who run with them have a lot of success! If they don’t then someone else usually creates it! 🤣
Thanks for watching! Enjoy your Slap Strap!
Been awhile since some new “game changer” item has come out that really impresses me. I’ve been using a q safe strap for 20 years and this truly will make things easier.
@@travisrosenberg22 I agree! It took me seeing it a few times to truly understand its capabilities.

Just ordered mine! Great finally meeting you bud.
@@jeremycavaretta1035 awesome! You too man! Love getting to meet great people! Good luck this season!
Finally something we can use and it’s not ridiculous
@@goober698 it’s nice!
Awesome product! I think it also solves one sticking problem of keeping your fingers from going underneath your tether while advancing it. CGM and a few other companies have made great products that solve that problem, but this also acts a tether stopper, gear hanger, and accessory belt. It also looks like the product will make advancing your tether much quicker and more efficient for both one stickers and two tether climbers. I'm looking forward to testing it.
@@Bubakarrr great insight and feedback! Thanks for watching and enjoy your Slap Strap!
how would this work for one sticking? I would love to use something like this for it but you'd still need more of your tether in a dump pouch on your saddle and then how hard would it be to pull it down since it is gripping the tree from the steel spring? my thoughts are you would likely need 2 pull down ropes then... 1 to detach the slap strap and 1 to loosen your tether but it also depends how hard it is to pull the tether through the slap strap still
@@ryansullivan9413 Good points that I didn't consider since I climb and descend with a sladder or two tethers. For storage, you'd probably want a bigger pouch than what it comes with or store the rest of the rope on a dump pouch elsewhere. For descending, I think you could pull the enough rope out and reattach to the tree without the spring portion on the tree and rappel and retrieve your line the same way you normally would. I will need to play around with it to see if it would work the way I envision it.
@@Bubakarrr would love an update when you have it brother
First of all, nice idea, good selling points ;-). Even if it lets you make a mistake with linement belt adjustment (practice should make it ok). However, it is great for the telephone pole tree type. When you need to mauver - you need third rope (period). "Just move it" will not work because both lines are connected to the same panel..., your weight on it and it will not go eazy.
++ anything ! not attacher to your saddle/pack/harness have a chance to stay home/truck/box and miss the tree ;-)
@@neoshooter3187 thanks for watching!
Unreal I absolutely love this. Will they be offering any pouches that you can add to the slap strap?
@@JennRFL16 it comes with two pouches, but I believe you will be able to order extras too!
I need new boots and 6 arrows this year. Otherwise I'd be be snagging one of these!
@@328am just do like us and sell something and get you one!
Going to put my 2 cents in here. It promotes just moving the slap strap up the tree WITHOUT adjusting the linesman belt. This is bad technique. It allows you to keep a bunch of slack in the linesman belt. If you take a fall the slap strap is NOT acting as a tree squeeze. It's not going to keep you in place. As you lean into the tree it's crucial that you adjust your linesman belt. Most people do not use their linemans belt correctly in the first place. They step up and with one hand try to drag the linesman belt up the tree. You're supposed to put both hands on the linemans and flip it up the tree then adjust. If you use the linesman correctly is doesn't fall down. If you want it for the tether/linesman management and gear strap, that's great. But it's not keeping you safer when climbing.
@@brandonpsmith great insight! Thanks for watching!
Exactly what I was thinking. I suppose you could just attach with your tether and just slide that up the tree and negate the lineman all together since it seems pretty pointless here.
I agree I thought if u fall this thing isn't going to support you!
I agree. And another downside is you could easily forget this or have it pop off your body as you move through the woods. With a saddle and pouches installed with lineman’s rope girth hitched to the saddle you can’t forget it at the truck or lose it. Cool idea, but it’s not perfect
Maybe I read this wrong but why would the tree slap be what keep you from falling the rope does the strap is just there to keep everything handy and people should know they need to adjust as you go up the tree I understand people don’t. But far has this tree slap I can not wait to get one
It's a cool concept but definitely had the typical "saddle hunting" markup on the price. I rarely ever use a lineman's (tether/rapel rope always connected) so it doesn't make sense to me. I just didn't believe lineman's are safe and would never let my kids use one either unless it's for backup only
@@andrewsanders5774 thanks for watching and the input! 👊😎
Its hard to get into saddle hunting because of the price.
Wonder how going up a tree with limbs would be? Seems like that could be more difficult then a standard system but definitely an interesting product.
@@jeremywynn7580 it is actually easier. Instead of pulling out a tether and wrapping it, its already in place, you just run the tether above the limb and hook in then disconnect the linemans.
I covered in the video, but know its long and has a lot of detail.
@@reviveoutdoors4him cool I watched it probably missed it maybe you’re next video it will be easier to see in a tree in the woods. Thanks for sharing the info!
Multiple limbs or a limb on the backside of a bigger tree I see it being a potential issue. Also wondering if attaching a heavy backpack, bow, gear etc if it'll have a tendency to slide down smoother bark trees?
Looks like it will get in the way of a hys strap/gear holder
@@mr.skeptical3071 you seem skeptical 😜
How do we access the 100 pre order available? Site just says sold out.
@@preston8981 they are currently awaiting more inventory and will update us asap. I will release the tree demo video then.
Website say's it does NOT come with pouches. "This product does not contain carabiners or accessory bags."
@@brandonpsmith great catch! Thank you for letting me know. They are getting it updated. The Slap Strap WILL come with pouches and everything in the video except the saddle (of course) and carabiners.
Thank you for watching and letting us know!
What mm are the ropes and could you add you own hitch for the lineman’s and tether rope?
@@lescurry3401 the rope is 8mm and yes, I just went by their booth and double checked, you could customize it to your liking but would probably void any warranty I assume.
Is it confirmed 8mm ropes and pouches are included
@@darvilhayes4735 👊😎
I apologize sincerely but I just do not understand or comprehend the hype on this product?!?
@@devinduncan2830 maybe you should order one and see for yourself in person! 😜
Thanks for watching! Hope you have a great season, Devin! Do you travel for deer like turkey?
How do you make a move up & over limbs?
@@Bow_Mafia it’s actually really easy! I will cover it in my tree demo video for everyone!
Just take the rope not in use (either the linemans or tether) and put it above the limb then disconnect the other and move the ss up and continue climbing
Thanks for showing all the new comical stuff that the hunting industry has to offer. 😂😂😂 I didn’t know guys still used hunter safety systems. Nothing is exciting anymore 😂
@@Stykbow your comment is exciting 😜
Replacing ropes every year due to safety concerns, but using the same harness for 20 yrs and not replacing doesn’t add up.
@@osbornoutdoors8778 good points, but the safety harness shows zero frays or wear and tear because it does grind up and down the tree, if it did, I wouldn’t still be wearing or putting my child in it. Thanks for watching!
3 years. same ropes lol
How does the belt connect to the tree after you slap it on Thanks
@@ralphdeniscojr6198 the steel band holds it to the tree and the ropes are full complete ropes as a normal linemans and tether are so they help hold it to the tree from a safety aspect. Thanks for watching and great question!
Nah something aint right..that slap strap aint supportin a man that slips an falls full force
@@StealthTRD it is right and it will support a fall. Thanks for watching!
Cool idea but I would love to see someone actually climb a tree and hang sticks with this system. This looks real sketch and something that wouldn't catch if you fell.
@@LoganDriskell I will have a video soon! I assumed the same when I first saw it, but it’s actually really safe now that I understand how it’s designed.
So do they let you know when the 100 are gone?
@@mrwoodwooker2810 correct! The discount code lets them track it. We were already at 30+ sold 6 hours ago.
@@reviveoutdoors4him it was a little unclear on the time frame of these 100 set aside is other than “this season”?
@@mrwoodwooker2810 thanks for asking for more clarity.
HSS sold 350 slap straps in a blink of an eye as what they had planned was a “test run” for this season and then would do a full launch at ATA.
I was really bummed about this and requested more. After a lot of convincing, they worked to produce 100 more for our audience with a guaranteed arrival before season starts.
He said, he may can get more made for others this year but it would most likely be after the season starts.
All that said, he had 100 (now around 50-60) for our listeners to get one before season starts.
Does that make more sense?
@@reviveoutdoors4him no! I don’t know what season you are specifically talking about! For instance, in my state elk season has started. Starts on the 20th and archery deer starts September 1. Rifle season isn’t until November and muzzleloader is December! That’s what I mean. There’s a lot of different seasons with a lot of different dates going from now to the end of the year.!
@@mrwoodwooker2810 makes sense! Thanks for the clarity! They will begin shipping in Mid-September
Since the lineman rope isn't completely going around the tree like the tether is. How does it keep you from falling incase you fall
@@aaronmeeks1155 it actually does go all the way around. It’s just inside the sleeve of the slap strap so it gives that perception!
It's not designed for a big tree
@@nemarec it would work on anything a climber, platform or hang-on would work on.
Will they let you know if you’re one of the hundred that gets theirs?

Claiming they "developed" the prusik hitch is about as lame as it gets. What a bunch of nerds.
$170.00 Yikes
