- Hey there friends! A few of you suggested this one, but @oasiscentral_ hipped me to the additional video of Liam singing this one in the studio and I thought that would make for a fun reaction to see if Dave has a favorite.
He does!
Enjoy =)

Great reaction, this was first shown in 2019 by Tim Abbott from Creation Records at some kind of event - can’t quite remember which one! The videos of Liam in the studio are brilliant, there’s that video of Liam recording an alternative take of Champagne Supernova from the Supersonic documentary (also recorded by Tim Abbott), he was on unbelievable form back then.
They’ll surely release the Liam version of Step Out next year. It will be on the 30th anniversary of Whats the Story. Its got to be.
I was a the Bolton Reebok stadium the week before this gig when step out was played live for the time
I was there too ! Happy times
Dave rly just listened to both versions back to back whereas most of us fans had to wait 20+ years to listen to the Liam version. madness!
Never heard Liam's version of Step Out - I would love to hear the studio mixed version of that. That is a completely brand new experience for me guys - Love it! ❤️ Oh, Shecky, have you heard Noel doing "Lord Don't Slow Me Down"? Great track. But I then heard Liam's unreleased version and it blew me away! I reckon there's loads more Oasis unreleased demo's etc, just waiting to be trickled out.. Thank you - great reaction as always.. ❤
I prefer Noel singing Lord Dont Slow Me Down. Maybe I should have a relisten of Liams.
Lord don’t slow me down is one of the songs that made me really think about their voices especially after Liams version got leaked, ngl his voice on that song WIPED Noel’s version.
Sure Noels a cool singer too he did great in some other songs that Liam couldn’t get ( Little by little is the best example ) but Liams voice when its at its best smashes everything.
Both versions are terrific
I've never heard liam sing this, thank you
That gig was unbelievable just wait till you guys see it
Liams Studio Version my first look on this great peace of Rock'n'Roll.... just great..... thank you very much
It was originally going to be on Morning Glory between Some Might Say and Cast No Shadow. There was a promo copy released with this listing that was quickly pulled after Wonder sued. As for the versions I would love to hear a Liam version, but I do really enjoy Noel's as it's the one I've always known. Guitar is much better on this live version, but vocal is great on studio version.
btw talking of stuff released after decades. They just released Liam's version of Sad Song from 92. I guess you've heard it Shecky. I like Liam's and Noel's versions in different ways, I think combining them might make a great tune! Thoughts>?
Cheers :)
Boom! 'Ave a bit of that!
✌️😎
This would tend to happen so Noel sang on more tracks in the future. ua-cam.com/video/q0zxbRYu_2g/v-deo.html
Shakermaker is 12 bar blues aka coca cola song
Oasis reaction = like 👍🏼
Great reaction, don't forget A Bell Will Ring 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Liam hands down. Every time✌️🏴
I prefer Noel's version, guy you need to deep dive The Stone Roses
Uptown!
There are certain songs where Noel's vocals work more on the song that Liam's, but this is not one of those times. I prefer Liam on songs like Step Out and I think he should've sang on this.
I will say that I prefer Noel singing songs like Don't Look Back in Anger, Talk Tonight, Sad Song and Half the World Away.
Even having listened to Liam's version of Sad Song and Half the World Away, I think it sounds better with Noel on vocals.
Cum on feel the noize , second Night Maine Road 1996 , Liam is atacking the Mike like a dragon with steam coming out of his mouth 🔥🔥👊👊
ya I agree with you guys I prefer Liam's version. actually Liam was supposed to sing on the studio version but when they heard the stevie wonder song they decided to sing it as a b-side with Noel on it. I don't think it was a matter of ego during that period Liam would walk off stage a lot and Noel would have to fill in so afterwards he sings of one or two tracks on upcoming albums for that reason.
Been a while 🫣 don’t think Dave has reacted to Shakamaker, but appears to know the song.
This will be a fun reaction, No Way Sis (cover band) released and it charted as they appeared on Top of the Pops ‘I’d like to teach the world to sing’ ua-cam.com/video/xjGT2cW3-tY/v-deo.htmlsi=8tdpDHdCxT1CLQxf
😂
There are some people who have tried to add liams vocal to the studio track but because theres loads of reverb (and its relatively low quality), the results arent too great. You can find them on youtube (Just watch out as there are some that are AI made and dont use the actual recording of his vocals).
Liam Gallagher - Nothing Nowhere was another unreleased masterpiece.
Ya he wrote it for his third solo album, but he hasn’t released it for some reason. It sounds really good
Liams is so much better really hope they release it
Noel's vocals tend to work best on acoustic versions. But generally, Liam's vocals are more suited for the rock and roll tracks. Personally, I would always choose Liam over Noel for vocals.
I liked the song. I'd be interested to hear Liam's version with the music to get a true taste but he sounded like he did it better. Cool to have both. Here's another tune from BCC (Black Country Communion) for Dave to check that I dig that's live, has really strong vocals and drumming, and has a different sound from their more Led Zeppely stuff. It's new too. It's the song, Enlighten ua-cam.com/video/19gUVBa5X28/v-deo.html
I prefer Noel's version. But i am one of those rare people who prefer Noels vocals on most things. I always thought Liams voice was too nasally. Unless it was like liam singing things between 1991 - 1993 ??maybe early 1994 ish. Where his voice was strong and not nasally at all. After that you can really hear that eeeee sound in his voice and then its hit or miss on whether he sounds good.
stevie wonder Estate wanting 90% of the sale meant this got pulled from morning glory amd stuck on a b side.
Here's a fan mix of the studio music with this vocal mixed on top

Pretty sure there was no lawsuit for this one. Oasis gave the credit to Stevie.. It was going to be on the album but ended up a B-Side becuase Wonders camp was looking for a %.
It was supposed to be on the album and I’m sure Liam would of sung it, but when Stevie wonder sued them for it I feel like Noel kinda just didn’t care for it anymore and just decided to sing it himself and use it as a b side. Just my thoughts
They should never have took this song off (What's The Story) Morning Glory? in the first place. If you play it between Some Might Say and Cast No Shadow, as was intended, it sounds fantastic. The fact they released it soon after as a B-side tells you that the writer's credit to Stevie Wonder wasn't as insurmountable problem. They should've restored it to later versions of the album, like the anniversary versions. The fashionable think to say would be Liam's vocals are better, but for me Noel's studio version (not this live version) is the best version. And it's not often you'd say that with a rocker. You should try that studio version
they took it off because it's a rip off of a stevie wonder song & the lawyers at Sony wanted permission to use the song and the estate wanted 90% of the sales of what's the story morning glory. Noel told them to fuck off and stuck it on a b side.
@@ads2686 That makes sense about the profits. Still wish there was a version of Morning Glory with it restored though
I remember Noel mentioned he sang it because they knew they would get sued for it. It was too obvious a rip off.
So he knew they could never release it as a single.
"Whatever" was another song they got sued for.
I can’t believe they got sued for that 😂
If you listen to it it’s literally just one line that sounds the same at the beginning Ridiculous
I think step out was gonna be on WTSMG until the law suit and Noel decided to bump it down to a b-side as if it was in the album more royalties would have been paid
Was meant be on wtsmg stevie wonders record label threatened law suit cus it sounds like uptight
Didn’t the dirty Gary Glitter get a writing credit plus royalties from Hello song?
Great video
He did but I don't think there was a lawsuit? Maybe wikipedia isn't up to date on these things.
@@samechick I think he took some kind of legal action in the late 90’s for copyright infringement- whether it was awarded or settled out of court I’m entirely sure- but he was then put as a co-writer and got £200k as well as future album sale royalties.
Liam version is better, although I don't think it was an ego thing at all.
Off Topic: Shecky what do you think of this cover band? Eerily similar. ua-cam.com/video/rldOYsvFXwA/v-deo.html
