Bougainvillea Bonsai - How To Propagate Large Bougainvillea From Cuttings
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 вер 2020
- There's many way to propagate bougainvillea you know on UA-cam, most of them is small cuttings, very easy to grow. But you might not know how to do for the large cuttings, here is other way, my way. I hope you do it successful.
PS. Some how I didn't have the video when I paint on the top of them (as you see at minutes 6:48). I'm sorry about that. It is the paint I put on top to protect the logs from fungus and also keep the logs from drying.
Best regards - Навчання та стиль
Thank you for your time and knowledge, I'm 67 years old ready to go on retirement to Ecuador, is a nice climate , no snow, low 65 up to 85 highs, plenty sunshine, I like plants like my mother, and I know a have a good hand, I like the Bonsai, I learn a lot from you. Keep spreading the beauty of you as person, I know you are not selfish, you always will give. Gracias, thank you
This is the best video on the topic. The tip for cutting holes in the plastic cover really helps the cuttings to get accustomed slowly.
When is the best season to plant large bougainvilleas ? … could I plant them in the dark basement where the winter temperature is warmer ? . Christopher Island of Cyprus
Some people just have a talent to teach and explain thing well and Mr Sony Le has that talent. The idea about slowly changing the humidity by cutting the plastic is such a great idea... thank you.
Mr. Le, thank you once again for your incredible video. I love your cement pot one and now your Bonsai one looks simple and achievable. Can not wait to try out your idea. Thank you. Awesome 🌺
Thank you. Well explained and demonstrated. This is knowledge for me. I didn't know such thick stems could be propagated.

I love to garden but I’ve never tried Bonsai. I look forward to your next instructional on Bougainvilleas. I will give it a try after that video.
Are you related to Drake?
@@mindfreakmovies9586 I don't know. What is his or her first name?
Awesome video. It will help further to make bonsai as my bougainvilleas are too small. I must try for the best bonsai later on. Thanks a lot
I love these plants. My new favorite. I have them on my fence.
Very nice. You live in Florida and the warm & humid environment is a huge benefit for germination and growing. Others who live in hot and dry areas may not experience the same success.
Wonderful. You are a Renaissance man!
Beautiful work!!!
Very nice job, Sir. I learned a lot from you. Thank you.
I am from India and a beginner in bonsai gardening ... Very detailed video of yours .. I liked it and will try to implicate your technique... Thanks for sharing your knowledge
This was amazing. I have never seen cuttings strike from such large trunks. Thank you so very much for sharing this. I’m not sure if I could replicate this in the UK (quite a bit colder here!) but it’s always worth a try? Thank you again.

great video,great results!
This is great thank you for the video and tips!
Mr. Le, I so enjoy watching your videos. They are very easy to understand and follow. I bought a couple of these small plants last year, I’m hoping they will have new growth this year. We had a cold winter and I covered them to protect them but I’m very worried if they survived or not. Can you give me any tip for a young plant to help boost its chances of regrowth after a cold winter.
Great work
pretty amazing, I have never seen anyone be able to grow cuttings that size.
Amazing work. Would this propagation method work with boug in the UK? In a coldframe?
That is gold! Thank you....nature us just amazing isn't it
Mr. Le, Many thanks for too much information . Learn so much from your video . I ask you one question that is which compost or soil .
Wow that's awesome 👍❤❤❤❤❤
They are beautiful...
Very good explanation ❤
Thanks for the interesting video U done a good job
Thanks sharing bagombilya bonsai
Thanks for sharing. Very nice video. Did you water the it again after you remove the 1st plastic sheet before putting on the second plastic cover or you just put the second cover on without adding anything?
Excellent video. There seems to be enough sand and soil to hold the cuttings. Is it important to tie them together? Also your weather seems to be hot and humid looking at the fast growth. Flowering from cutting in 3 months. Thats incredible.
Great Work,I'm in S.W.Florida. Is this done as growing season get's going? May-June-July? Thank you!
You have so much patience Mr. Le.
VERY BEAUTIFUL
Great job 👍
Excellent video
Wow, very beautiful, please keep sharing your innovative videos.
Thank you for sharing
Amazing! I’m always trying to root cuttings and you rooted a log !
Nice propagation thanks
Wow eccellent
Thanks hope to watch more
After removing the plastic did you easily transfer to different containers or pots
@@julietpaz5230 I cannot see the process of moving my propagated plants to new pots. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Thank-you can't wait to try this
Great job!!!! I absolutely love your videos!!! You are so helpful!!! I wanted to ask you what kind/brand of paint you use to cover your cuts?? Thank you again!! Keep up the good work!!!👍
You can use water base paint or nail polish. Healing glue is good too available at Home Depot or Lowes
Thx for an amazing demonstration! Did you water at all during the period when you covered with plastic? Did you place the pot on sun or shaded area? Thanks once again🙏🏽
Beautifully explained, great video thank you Sony, would like to see part 2...
Very nice. What is the white at the end tops of your cuttings.
Very good. Thanks Sir.
awesome video !
Thanks so much for sharing😊
Hi Mr. Le, what potting mix did you use when you repot them? Thank you
Hi Sir, how often do you water them? And what other nutrients do you advise to give? Thanks!
Amazing 👍👍👍👍
wow beautiful
I have that plant direct to the soil and put the branches in my concrete fence, now they bear very beautiful flowers. But i never plant in a pot.I will do the same way to propagate new ones.thanks for your video sir .
I would suggest that if you own the donor plant to air layer the pieces you want rather than take large cuttings. That should have a higher success rate for large pieces. Plenty of videoed on UA-cam on doing air layers. Large cuttings are good when you don’t have long term access to the parent plant but less reliable than air layering.
