So we had a Revolution 2X and replaced it with the Hoover PowerScrub XL. The Hoover doesn’t leave the carpet so wet. It would take so many passes to get the Bissell to extract most of its solution and it would take a day or two to fully dry. The Hoover extracts most (nearly all) of its solution within 2-3 passes and carpet is dry within a few hours max. The stain removal performance is about the same. What makes a bigger difference is the formula used in my experience. Neither unit struggled to remove the stains from our dog. Feces. Urine. Vomit. Blood. Both of them worked very well at this. It’s just that the Hoover removed so much more solution, to where we could actually vacuum post-clean within a few hours. That is impressive for a residential machine that is not a professional truck-mounted extractor. I think it’s because the tank sits on top of the head which pushes it down into the carpet. To get the same effect with the Bissell, I had to lift the rear of it up, which pushes the front of it further down into the carpet. I also appreciated how the Hoover did not have the shrill, ear-piercing sound that the Bissell had, especially when using the hose.
Only reason for that is because the Bissell shoots more water then it can pick up, has nothing to do with where the tank/spray/etc is. It actually cleans better it just sprays too much And lastly, there is a setting on the side of the Bissell. I've noticed on max clean it does leave a lot of fluid behind, but on deep clean it was perfect
@@JamesAutoDude I don't think that's the reason.... I read somewhere Hoover tests to make sure with all their machines it can remove as much water as possible...My main concern with carpet cleaners is that they can extract water. With my hoover (similar to the blue one here) I can literally soak the carpet more than I should and it still gets most of the water....I can't confirm because I don't have any recent bissells (they may have improved this) but according to the comment above they haven't. The bissell I had years ago was awful at extracting water. It cleaned well but left the carpets wayyy too wet. I just stick with the Hoovers and do more passes if it's bad...My current hoover says its 10 amps.... I think the Bissells are lower amperage. That may be why. I don't know
I’ve had this vacuum for a few years now and it’s still going strong. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was cleaning it today and thinking about how much I love no bags to buy and that it comes apart for easy clean up. When I first purchased it we had two dogs and a cat and it kept up well. The suction was great then and still is now. I’m always amazed at the amount of hair it picks up, it works better than any other vacuum I’ve had for pet hair. The attachments are handy and work well. It’s easy to use with arthritic hands. I just had to come write a review because I’m still so pleased with this purchase.
I just want to point out that the orange 2x and purple PET PRO 2x are functionally the same machine EXCEPT that the purple has that clean shot feature where you press a button and it jets a stream of the solution to a target. It also has a removable housing to access the 2 brush rolls making it easier to clean them ,while the orange one does not open this way. The tool for the purple one has the stain trapper tool that can be a little tricky to figure out, but it works to catch the liquid in the handle so that nasty pet stains do not run through your whole vac system. These two machines have the same power but just some upgrades for the pet pro. I also want to point out that while the auto match dispenser of the Hoover smart wash might be what some people want, but you don’t have extra control if you really want to dispense more or less water in a particular area. This was a good review and show down of these carpet cleaners! Super helpful and informative 👍🏼😊 well put together.
I have the hoover smart wash. I love the machine due to the fact that you don't have to use a trigger to dispense the water. This machine operates like a vacuum cleaner. You push the machine forward to dispense the water and pull it backwards to dry the carpet. Also, you don't have to measure your cleaning solution. Hoover thought of everything to make this smart wash machine functional for anyone using it. I highly recommend purchasing this machine for anyone who wants a good quality light weight carpet cleaner 😊
To clarify it doesn't allow any control over dispensing cleaning solution, it's only in one direction and is going to dispense any time the machine is moved forward, period?
Great video, I still think the Bissell did better than the Hoover, the Hoover didn’t clean the wine and makeup stains and the Bissel did clean the makeup and worked the same with the wine.
Agreed but that small dirty water tank! I don't like the no trigger on the Hoover though. Pain in the rear when every time you go forward it sprays solution on its own.
The best video i've seen on carpet cleaner tests so far I think. First of all you actually have them all, some channels pretend to have them but use stock footage and then post affiliate links. Then you also tested them on an actual used carpet instead of just dirt made for the video, so it showed an actual real world test. Then they were all tested side by side the whole time in a single shot so we could directly compare. It's a shame you're not in the UK because Vax is the main alternative to Bissell here and I'm looking for comparisons with that, might just go with the bissell though but it's hard to find in stock.
I have the Hoover Power scrub XL and it works great plus it also depends on the solution you use as well for the stain type i use the 7X concentrate and it did a better job and haven't had any issues with the tanks at sure they fit loose without water but with water in them the weight itself holds them in place so no need to lock them in place and they go in easy for me and the spin brushes are easy to remove for cleaning. and if you need to rinse just use plain water, as for the deep clean setting it does use more water but it cleans deeper into the carpet as for the quick clean it uses less water for faster cleaning and drying times about 30 to 45 minutes and it does sort of let you know if the water tank is empty it'll make it hard to turn and use which is a weird thing to do.
I have been searching for a carpet cleaner by watching videos and reading reviews. You have been such a tremendous help in this decision making. Thank you for going to this extreme demonstrating the differences of these models.
I’ve used both the regular pet and pet pro carpet cleaner from Bissell and I’ll say the pet pro is much better and it dries the carpet so much better than the regular one
I used the bissel pro heat 2x pet pro on an area rug over luxury vinyl planks and there was not even a trace of water underneath. I checked often because I was also nervous about that.
To clarify with the Hoover Smartwash Pet Expert Automatic it doesn't allow any control over dispensing cleaning solution, it's only in one direction and is going to dispense any time the machine is moved forward?
I have the bissel & tineco. I use the tineco for hard floors & rugs. My pro heat 2 I use to clean carpets. IMO the tineco isn't a good deep cleaner, but then again, I am a bit OCD about cleaning & have to clean a certain way.
The thing i like about Bissell, you need to talk to someone they answer. No email or text or whatever else there is. To me that's huge. Plus there knowledgeable and can be understood. Amazing
Can't ask for a better test video....well done .my bissel arrives tomarrow .looks like I made a good choice . But will be running out for more cleaning solutions. Why even give it to me being so little ...like a slap in the face too me not like they will loose money with giving more away or at least a coupon to save the weight price for shipping. Thks again great vid😅😊
I just bought the Bissel from Walmart at $159. This is my second Bissell and even though paying roughly the same price 10 years prior. I found a lot of improvement in performance and ergonomics. And to think I’m planning on removing the carpets in approximately a years time. But I had to do something my dog, a huge dog got sick and barfed on the living room carpet. I didn’t immediately find the mess till about 36 hrs later. The stomach acids are hell on a carpet colorfastness. But I can use the machine for furniture and my cars interior, so the money’s not completely wasted.
I got portable hoover i like but thinking getting a vacuum one since i sometimes hate getting on my hands and knees. So looking at vacuums like these though looking something that does its job and doesnt take a lot of space.
Oh and fyi I just found out that the Hoover models are sold in the UK under the "Vax" brand. Essentially the same machines just different branding and names. Both owned by the same parent company. I wanted the Bissell since I prefer more manual control but it was out of stock so I went with the Hoover/Vax one
I have both the Bissell Proheat 2x Rev Pet Pro and the Hoover Smartwash. I have 2 dogs with one being a backyard breeding breeder dog who lived in crate her entire life, so very difficult to train... So lots of pet stains. The Smartwash is definitely easier to use, but after drying it didn't actually prove as good of a job. The Bissell did better overall cleaning as when it dried, you didn't potentially have any leftover stains. When you get down on the carpet, it also smells better and seems to get a deeper clean. It could also be the Bissell solution is better than Hoover's as I do use the associated pre treatment and cleaner for each machine.
Very detailed and fair test... I have seen some videos with 2 people using a cleaner each and one would walk faster than the other or not make as many passes. I have ordered myself the Vax platinum smart wash pet design which looks very similar to what is rated #1 here. I think Vax is the British version of the same model
Just subscribed to your channel great video also try using different carpet detergents like zep carpet detergent or resolve detergent thank you so much was in the market to look for a new carpet washer and I made my decision watching your channel God bless also do you have any buffing or floor waxing videos on your channel
your video helped me a lot. it's a great video! However, i can't fine the model at store you list "Hoover smart wash pet expert automatic", is there any new model instead?
I have a high pile (almost like shag) carpet similar to the one in your instagram story 3-28-2023 -where you were vacuuming behind the couch on the baseboard. How would you recommend shampooing without it smelling like mildew after.
I regularly watch your channel, I have a fundamental question, you were confused between wet vacuum cleaners, do they also wash the floor, such as pro pet bislle, hover, I would like you to do an experiment on ketchup that has been on the floor for several days, to see if the wet vacuum cleaner cleans the It.

I jusAfter watching contlerss videos I just bought the Bisell 2x revolution pet pro. I'm glad youve endorsed it. Do you know you really look like a young Mariella frostrup :-). She is a TV presenter that used to do a video review programme..
Help! I bought a used washer and got it home and it smells of cigarette smoke so bad. I’ve cleaned it with bleach, baking soda & vinegar, powdered tide, affresh washer Machine pods and ran a MILLION hot water cycles and it still smells… please tell me you have a solution 😢
Update: The SmartWash is about as loud as a normal vacuum cleaner. Really no big deal. My old Hoover cleaner is dying so it has become extremely loud and probably just needs to go to the curb. I'm curious about noise levels. It's not a major concern but with my old Hoover I choose to wear hearing protection as it is really uncomfortably loud now (it's 15 or 20 years old). I have no memory of how loud it was when new but I didn't have to wear ear pro.
The bissell pet pro didnt work good for me. It left lines in my carpet, the attachment and sprayer were absolutely pointless. It also didnt clean the carpet, it still smelled.😒
This is the best review of its kind that I have seen. I bought the Hoover SmartWash Pet and I am very disappointed. The SmartWash Pet DOES NOT RINSE. At all. It sprays down soap in the forward direction and dries (without rinse water) in the reverse. No clean rinse water is sprayed in the reverse direction unlike the old Hoovers (I have one that is 15 years old and still works but sounds like it is dying) that did Wash Forward, Rinse and Dry (together) in Reverse -- or just don't pull the trigger and it's dry only. The old Hoovers can switch to rinse mode and you can spray clean rinse water with the trigger or dry without the trigger. Was the trigger too hard for us dummies to comprehend? Were the switches too difficult? So with the new Hoover SmartWash here's what your carpet cleaning looks like: Clean your entire carpet then remove the soap tank and do it all again... unless you want that crispy feel of soap residue and you want to do it again in 2 months. Really dumb design choice that solves zero problems, Hoover. I'm going to return this and get something else. The spot treat handle is a total gimmick. It simply doesn't hold much solution - runs out very quickly. You can do better with a spray bottle. But what it does do is make it so you cannot lift this unit by the handle without breaking it. There is a hand hold point on the back down low. If you use that lift point with the front tank full the entire unit pivots to the horizontal - be ready! - and the water tank either leaks or falls out completely. So you should only lift this thing with all tanks empty.
Hoover carpet washers will outperform any Bissell carpet washers and they are approved and have a rating by the Carpet and Rug Institute for documented deep cleaning ability that something no Bissell carpet washers have.
Great test! I’m curious about the cost comparison. You said the best cleaner wasn’t the most expensive. Were all the cleaners similar in cost? @wilbur.sue
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. If you go into the description we have links for each model with pricing, just be sure to select Canada or US. The Bissell is quite a bit more expensive. Canadian vs American pricing is always different which makes it hard to give pricing direct in the video - gets confusing for people.

wow! what a comprehensive test! thanks for taking the time and effort to make this review video 👍
Thank you!
How is the suction on Proheat 2X good but leaves the carpet wet? Doesnt sound like great suction to me if the floor is still pretty saturated.
Sensational! Will be moving soon and this is great timing

Do you have recommendations for best carpet cleaner solution
I’ve used both the regular pet and pet pro carpet cleaner from Bissell and I’ll say the pet pro is much better and it dries the carpet so much better than the regular one
What is your experience with carpet cleaning area rugs? Should I, or am I gonna make a huge watery mess? (Laminate floors throughout house)
I used the bissel pro heat 2x pet pro on an area rug over luxury vinyl planks and there was not even a trace of water underneath. I checked often because I was also nervous about that.
With the hoover smartwash tilt body back for easy hose connection
I love the comparisons. Because why are there sooo many options and would I ever choose?
My goodness, these videos are the best!

Best comparison video I’ve seen hands down! I have a Royal that is no longer made and can’t get parts for so I’m in the market for one.

Never throw that grey stick out. I made the mistake of that and had to order another one.

And the Smartwash seemed to do the best in the test to me.

Would have loved to seen the bissell revolution steam in this
I'm confused, how can the uptake water tank fill up more than the water that was laid down? hint: Download a sound meter on your smart phone.
Best review video ! Thank you 😊
Great video you put in so much work and it shows. Keep up the great work
Thank you so much!
BTW the circular things underneath the power scrubs are Spinscrub brushes.
Good to know. Thank you!
Can you do one of these for floor stick vacuums?
We are working on it!
@gocleanco great video!! What kind of carpet cleaner solution did you use? 😃
The best review ever, subscribed ❤
Have you heard about the new Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam carpet cleaner? It has some amazing reviews
Is the Hoover one only sold in Canada?
Have you done another video showing how to remove the permanent marker yet? I need that one.
It's coming. We have a filming day planned soon and it's on the list!
Great info. Thanks!
I wish u used the new bissell revolution hydrosteam in this test
I have the old Bissell proheat 2x
And by that I mean an older one than the proheat 2x revolution pet
Do any of these carpet cleaners actually heat the water or, do you have to use hot water going in?
You need hot water going in. Some have tanks that maintain the heat but they don't actually heat up.
@@gocleanco Thank you, I really like how detailed your video was and I was already leaning towards that Hoover smartwash.👍🏿👍🏿.
This is awesome 😮
Here in Italy we don’t have hoover carpet cleaner 😭😭
Awww sorry! We're in Canada but thank you so much for watching. So cool to have international viewers.
Great video thank you

Awesome video for those buying carpet cleaners. 😊
good video. TY

I have never had a problem with Hoover
Top!
Amazing! You are my go to for home recommendations!
Hey, what's up.
I guess pams art career didn’t go so well
I use my teeth as you did although “everyone” says you gonna damage your teeth😮!😊
My staff laughed when I did that lol...so it stayed in the video.
@GoCleanCo bet the new hydrosteam would remove that marker
Hoover carpet washers will outperform any Bissell carpet washers and they are approved and have a rating by the Carpet and Rug Institute for documented deep cleaning ability that something no Bissell carpet washers have.
Says who?
@@ipereira7 The Carpet and Rug Institute independent third party.
❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
why don't you read the instructions instead of saying its really confusing.....
