I love your story. I have chronic
Crohns Disease. I have had this ever since I was 15 and so many people think that it's just a "stomach bug" and you'll get over it but they just aren't well educated about it. Even my job at times just couldn't understand the severity of this that there are days where it's a really big struggle for me to get out of bed. I found this inspiring because more people should learn more about this and know we are trying to live a long and healthy life just like everyone else. Thank you for this. 😊💙😌

I have this disease as well. Some days are worse than others. my job is trying to fire me bc i call out so much from this. I have an FMLA form from my doc. And havent been to work in 3 weeks. it makes it very difficult bc my husband is physically disabled as well. he has metal rods and plates in his back and disability doesnt pay him enough to pay the bills its a very scary time for us right now. but it makes it a little less scary knowing im not alone fighting this disease.

I have an ileostomy bag from Crohn's as well. Luckily my jobs were the ones who gave Soc.Sec. detailed info. on just how much of my days were spent on the floor curled up in pain, and often vomiting. (Pre ostomy days) I qualified for disability and I'm greatful for my jobs that helped with such an embarrassing disease. I have several other issues that continue to allow qualification but at the time of my application the Crohn's was severe enough, and attempting everyday living tasks were almost impossible. I figured I'd share this just in case you or others wonder how your job can influence receiving disability and hopeful understand the illness and all of it's hardships. Take care!

@@asherrogers2687 I hope all is well with you now with this. Sending hugs your way. I also am a type one diabetic on top of having crohns disease which makes everything just a bit more rough. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you had crohns? I'm 22 and I've had crohns since I was 16 and I am a "new" type 1 diabetic however they think I've always had this. I haven't been in remission at all since having crohns disease and it's been definitely frustrating to deal with at times but it's so nice go see others who have this disease as well. I think it's good to know about the job disability thing. However, I have thought of being on disability for this but I don't really want to be on it just because I do enjoy working and such but it's also just hard somedays. Here to talk if you need!

The problem of Crohn's is the blood. I treated it through the blood. I took herbs from us from Egypt. I bought it. It was called a cholesterol solvent and a liver fat solvent. I was cured of Crohn's. It simply means the colon is not the actual problem. The whole story is blood. recover #

Sadly chronic conditions are written off by even many health professionals as people seeking attention or hysterical woman syndrome. So glad she has a partner who was steadfast, and Drs. that kept on top of her condition as it yoyo'ed up and down.

    • @1029blue
      @1029blue 5 років тому +6

Yep, this is what one of the doctors told my mom: "You are hysterical and your child is spoiled." It turned out that I had celiac disease, which I was only diagnosed with (by a different doctor) when I was close to dying. Another comment that really annoyed me was a supervisor commenting on my need to eat gluten free: "Back in the day, people just put up with it and ate those foods." Yeah, and then they sometimes simply died. Even though I almost died, I still feel like things could be much worse for me because I don't need medication or surgery, but ANY chronic condition should be treated seriously, and more research needs to go into actually curing them, in addition to the government using funding to educate the public.

Am a Retired RN who had Wound Care Certification and worked with patients & family members who were new to the ostomy & bag concept. When Hollister's First Start program sent out samples & a black bag for supplies, a curved bladed scissor was included. I found it much easier to cut the opening in the "cut to fit" barriers; was a much smoother cut line in the product. I since found them on a medical instrument site, and ordered 3 pair, to give to patients as needed. I believe, when teaching patients to change their bags & barriers, it was that the barrier was to be changed every 3-4 days (thus 2x/ week) and the bags 2-3 x/ week. Health insurance only covered a specific number of bags & barriers (also, in the " old das" known as wafers). I'd instructed patients/family to be certain to pay for a box of each for "extra". Sometimes the "covered" items from the supply store were delayed in the deliveries. You have a two- piece set up. I saw also that the bag is cloth covered on 2 sides; a frequent preference by patients. There are shorter, once piece styles available for when you go swimming, FYI. Your ostomy is " beautiful "... I know, just a nurse's perspective.
ENJOY YOUR BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER & HUSBAND & this next chapter in your life!

Jeanne Hart have you looked into low dose naltrexone?
I wish you all the best!
I’m excited to be going to a LDN conference next weekend, the 2nd annual one.
I’m going due to my young kiddos GI issues... was an RN & now I’m going into functional medicine, as I don’t see conventional medicine having enough answers and insufficient help.

Not only do I have Crohn’s disease myself, but I’m also autistic (I have Asperger’s syndrome, to be exact), and I have ADD (attention deficit disorder), and bad anxiety. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in February 2020, just a few months before my 19th birthday, and my gastroenterologist said that there would’ve been the possibility of me having part of my colon taken out and replaced with a colostomy bag. I’m glad my doctor gave me the decision to see how I was feeling after being diagnosed and if it was getting worse to call him immediately.

I was case #100+ I am your long range study. I have had my pouch for over 30 years and it still looking and working great. If I had to go back to an ileostomy I would. I won a legs contest, went swimming, and met someone new all while I had the ostomy.

My Father just had major surgeries and major back to back critical life threatening events due to blood loss from a partial small intestine removal. He has been in remission from Colon Cancer for over 15 years but now has an Ileostomy bag and still cannot eat solid foods and may never be able to again. We are grateful for his survival but it is so hard accepting what has happened.
I too believe that there is nothing to be ashamed of and the stigma is very difficult to rise above.
I am in Awe of his video and just want to say Thank You. Thank you to this couple for being vulnerable and honest about these issues and thank you for opening up your struggles to the world. I wish this beautiful family many blessings.
Finally, thank you for allowing me to cry with a smile and hope in my heart and know that my Dad will live a normal life again one day ❤️

I too suffer from crohns disease and have had an ileostomy for 15 years... It has given me back my freedom to actually eat normally and travel without needing to always be near a bathroom..
I tried different crohns meds and at one time had a pharmacy similar to yours... My crohns is now managed by cannabis, I haven't needed the other meds for 4 years and am much healthier and happier. Best wishes for you and your beautiful family! Thank you for sharing your story😊

Thank you for your courage to speak about Crohns. I've struggled with it for over 30 years. The tests, meds and appointments seem almost endless. By bringing awareness to this disease you make it easier for others to understand what it's like to live with a chronic illness. May God bless you and your beautiful family.❤ I'm wishing you all the best with your journey of motherhood.

Congratulations on the safe arrival of your baby girl. I too had UC and now crohns. Started 29 years ago and diagnosed 27 years now. I have been lucky to have avoided surgery but one of my lowest points was learning that my son too has crohns. Great film that shares a lot of good points. I too have a supportive husband. I am holding out for a cure and prevention of others getting this disease x

shes so lucky she got quickly diagnosed, it took my mother over ten years to get diagnosed and for a doctor to listen to her. and now me, im in the works of being diagnosed after 6 years and so many doctors ignoring me.
