It was a fun project and I couldn't find any thorough guides for this replacement/upgrade. Hope this helps. Any questions, leave a comment. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for this video, suprising how scarce the hollow tech videos are compared to BB30
👍
Bassball style cap makes wearing a hood up a bit more bearable, do like a poncho. I used to use a clear bin liner with taped up arm holes back along just cos it went right over my backpak.
ohhh maaan. i just ordered the same bearing puller tool from amazon together with the new bearings. i thought i could pull it off with it. it was the washer that didnt fit? if so, its easier to get one that fit and file square to 22mm
Hi
Hi Andy. Something remains unclear in my mind. The Mountain BB uses a wider plastic sleeve to provide additional protection against mud and other contaminants. Which is supposedly not necessary with the Road BB allowing for a wider standard bearing (7mm thick). So I don't understand what drives Shimano for the design, because if we consider that the road and MTB spindles have the same length, why not use the length that allows the mounting of the 6805 standard bearing in both cases but by changing the width of the plastic dust cap for a perfect fit with the crankset ? Where am I going wrong ? 😤
I have exactly this on my road bike. MTB BB minus the dust sleeve and commonly available 7mm wide bearings
