okay finally finished the video hahah, but my puppy is a french bulldog + her name is luna ;) she was TERRIBLE literally the first 2 months i had her - wasn't understanding potty training, biting me and my roommates, whining, and more -- so puppies truly are a huge handful at first. BUT shes gotten so much better after about 4 months!! but i definitely had to take time off work and everything when i first got her!! i'm so happy we can navigate through this dog mom stuff together hehe :)
I read the puppies biting is like babies teething. Something to chew on would help him because in the wild they would bite their siblings while playing and mom
Bambino is so precious! And it's so admirable that you're showing your viewers how much of a responsibility it is to take care of a dog. I think it would also be super helpful if you talked about the adoption process to give people an idea of what it's like and to encourage them to adopt!
He is precious 🥺 thank you so much for showing the reality of what getting a puppy is like! I used to volunteer and foster a lot of dogs and people often don’t realize how much work a puppy is. More people should consider an adult dog if they don’t have the energy for a puppy!
The biting is teething! They need to bite to ‘set’ their new teeth that are coming through. They would normally do this with their siblings/parents - but we must give them plenty of things that they like to chew so their teeth come through properly. Also don’t keep him away from your other dog, as that will encourage resentment between them ❤️
I got a beagle about a month ago and now my feeling of being constantly overwhelmed is validated because of this video!!! Wouldn’t trade my sweet girl for the world but man are beagle puppies a handful. Would love for you to continue dog content I’m so here for it!!! :)
Little tip... don’t push his butt down when saying „sit“ he gotta learn it by himself :). Also breeds that are food driven are usually easier to train.
well it was her first week with him, and when you’re training a dog you have to let them know what you want them to do first. so, pushing his butt down when teaching him is good, but after mmmm a week or so he should get the concept of it.
@@sylviat8220 they didn't mean physical punishment. They meant what she did in 2:00. I've never heard of this technique either(maybe bc I have never owned a dog lolz) but it's just showing them what you want them to do and slowly work your way up:)
Me and my sister are taking a puppy within the next month and I'm so excited!! Good luck with the puppy it truly is a lot of work but so worth it. Plus he is the cutest
Also, everyone has mixed feelings about it but I would consider crate training. He’s so young he would just pass out in there and you could do things like workout while knowing he’s safe. I got a cheap baby monitor off of Amazon too so that helps with peace of mind when my puppy is in his crate too.
Watching this just took me back to 7 years ago when my fam first got our puppy.. I still remember all the sleep I lost bc of having to take care of him, etc.. But I totally agree with you Natalie, those tiring first few weeks were SO worth it bc he's been such a joy for my fam for the past 7 years and we would never have wished for anything otherwise! Can't wait to see more of Bambino in your vlogs
yes yes yes. 100% one of the hardest things I’ve done in my 22 years is raising a puppy. I have a 6 mo old male golden retriever and it’s only slightly gotten easier. try bitter apple spray for the biting (we didn’t have that issue too much but I heard it helps). it is soooo much harder than I ever imagined but I always tell myself it’ll be so worth it.
10000%!!! My 8 year old golden has been with us since 12 weeks and while it gets easier in some ways it also gets harder because they become so human like and need constant care and attention. Its like having a child that never grows up. Love her but it is hard!
My family just got a puppy and she loves our older German shepherd and at first he ignored her or tried to get away from her, but now they love each other. 😄
I have a 7 year old beagle and she is the most precious thing !! beagles tend to really bite and chew when they're young but once they're old they are the most obedient and nicest being !!!!
My family currently has a 75-pound yellow lab! He doesn't like to swim, but he loves splashing in beach waves and chasing water that shoots out of the hose in the backyard.(We even got him his own sprinkler to play in!)
Okay my last bit of unsolicited advice lol, get into a training class! Just started a 6 week basic training class and it’s nice to hear others experiences and get tips from a really knowledgeable trainer. There are lots of 8-10 week old puppies and I think it’s just so helpful to have that guidance. And socialize, socialize, socialize!!! We took my dog on walks and such before he was fully vaccinated and were just very careful because the first 16 weeks is the most important for socialization.
oh my gosh i just got a puppy in october and im a junior in college, living with roommates in an apartment! i dont think ive ever cried so much or been this tired in my life, but i know its going to be worth at the end of the puppy phase. shes 4.5 months old now and her name is roxy and shes a miniature goldendoodle. love her to death but the biting is insane :)
Hey! I know exactly what you mean. My dog is now 9 months old and the work does pay off i promise! I also live in an apartment. Around the 4-6 months it was pretty hard because of the teething but after that it gets better. Keep going! :)
Literally going through the same thing with my pup! I am so happy you showed the REALITY of having a puppy! This has been me these past two weeks!!! Thanks, sis for this! Gave me a little motivation do some work while my doodle is sleeping even though I want a nap myself!
Omg, why is he so cute? 🥺🥰 I can't 🥺. Having a puppy is a big responsibility, but it definitely brings you a lot of joy 🤗. I can't wait to get one myself!
Ahh so CUTE!! I have a little shih-Poo that just turned a year named Oliver! as soon as he starts biting give him a chew toy. Our pup was a biters and sometimes we would kind of squeal the way another dog would if he hurt them and turn away or put our head down so that he knows it hurts and not to do it. But my pup loves anything that he can really sink his teeth into like that part of your hand btwn your index finger and thumb 🙃🙃 he destroys a lot of toys sometimes the first day he gets them so I def recommend the Kong brand if he’s a hard bitter. He hardly bites our hand anymore unless we’re playing a little rough but he never bites down. Good luck. Dogs bring some much joy and love into your life.
I, have a 4 Yr old Beagle (Milo) and he was such hard work at the beginning with biting and training. But we were advised through our breeders to spend 6 months of tough & strong training and it will pay off. He's now the most amazing cuddly, friendly loveable boy. It's definitely worth the perservence as hard as it feels at the time. But beagles are definitely the cutest pups. 😊Xx
Echoing everyone's comments that raising a puppy was SO HARD and I truly never thought it would get better....but it did :) And it was totally worth it BUT MAN no one really tells you how hard it is in the beginning
I got a puppy a few years years ago without any help and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done I feel your exhaustion! She’s my little angel adventure buddy now though! She’s and F1b cockapoo and only weighs about 13 pounds. She was super mouthy as a puppy too oddly enough what really worked for me was this trick I read where you literally cry like a dog cry when she gets to mouthy and stop playing. Worked like a charm!
I would suggest teaching hand targets(tons of videos showing how to teach hand target) to help with the puppy biting. They make hands positive, so when you got to the vet, grooming, or for when Bambino meets new people hands are positive for him!
for training your dog we did this when we got mine, if they sit say sit and give them atreat if they wee say wee and give them a treat they learn to associate the word with the action and it being a good thing x
He is PRECIOUS! I got my pup Piper (black lab/shepherd mixed breed) in April and the puppy biting was crazy - drew blood and I had band-aids all over my wrist at one point (she’s an angel now). Bully sticks are a life saver - if he’s in a chewy mood and you need him to be occupied for a while, those kept her busy chewing so I could get work done. 🥰 frozen wet washcloths and even ice cubes are amazing, too. Just keep an eye on him with the bully sticks so he doesn’t eat it all in one sitting!
I recently got a new puppy and have an older dog. I recommend using positive reinforcement when the dogs nicely interact. Also I would just give your older dog time to adjust.
That kind of biting is normal for a puppy. He's playing with you like he would with his siblings and his teeth are all itchy so it's a way for him to relax. Give him chew toys to bite instead of your hands.
I have a Boston terrier and I must say that the first 2/3 months were tiring but worth it. He is amazing! Boston’s are the perfect pets for small spaces, they don’t bark and are pretty easy to train. I highly recommend Boston terriers for those that have the time for them. 🙂
Love the reality of this video! We got a golden retriever puppy named Beaux back in June and while it's so exciting and they are so cute - oh my god I wasn't prepared for a lot the exhausting "puppy weeks". Everything you're going through and describing is so normal and exhausting but in a few months it'll be so worth it! I feel like weeks 8-12 (so first month you have the pup) are the hardest because you're trying to teach everything all while watching them 24/7. It definitely gets easier as they grow. Highly recommend crate training for sleeping and bladder control as well as to give you an hour to do something for yourself or work. Google will be your best friend when it comes to training and just stay very consistent with the training. Even when you think they aren't getting it they'll surprise you the next day and will understand sit, stay, etc.. Always give high value treats when training. For hand biting we stuck with puppy type bones or wood chew toys and then if he did bite we would give a stern "NO". When he was a little older like 4/5 months we started using a water bottle full of coins so if he bit our hands or anything we would shake it and he learned to stop eventually. Best of luck!! it's so tiring but really will be worth it :)
Hi I just wanted to say I am a big fan and I heard of the stuff that you can spray on your legs on your arms and on your clothes and on your carpet to make them stop fighting because I do not like this
Soooo cute!😍 I have never been a dog person, but 2 years ago my family adopted a 4 year old dog. Her name is Betty and she is a labradoodle. I love her with my hole heart ❤️
My puppy did the same thing! Because of his young age, it’s likely that it’s a combo of him teething and him not knowing play etiquette. You can try redirecting them from your hands with a toy or maybe try spraying them with a bitter spray. Good luck!
🙌🏼 this video really validated my feelings about having a puppy right now. I have an 11 wk old Samoyed puppy named Hope. It’s definitely a ton of work and the biting is frustrating but I know it’s all completely worth it! Thanks and I’d love for you to keep sharing about it!!
I also got a puppy-Rocky which is a pug he is now 9 months but we got him at 8 weeks and we was so hard to take care of,he used to vote anything, eat anything and poop anywhere he wants,it was so hard for the first two three months then it gets better,he is right now very good but has anxiety when he is alone,But bambino is so cute.
Pups food driven are extremely easy to train because they want food. My Labrador is food driven and eager to please. Learned a lot of tricks on his first week home. He’s 7 years now and fluently knows 14 tricks and 5 party tricks.
He is so stinking cute! Those eyes 🥺 My boyfriend & I have a female Doberman, she is 10 months old & her name is Storm or Stormy, we use both and she answers to both lol just recently been able to let her loose in our backyard / field behind our backyard no issues so things are good! We noticed putting Kongs in the freezer before giving them to her helped a lot with her teething and if your pup is driven by food you can teach him SO many tricks!! Can’t wait to see him grow up!
My roommate got a golden puppy in august! She got no sleep for months but it really helped with potty training. The biting was really bad at the beginning because she was teething so make sure to have a lot of teething toys around! It gets better after awhile. :) The spray did nothing for her since she didn't mind it at all.
I just got a puppy 2 months ago and the bitting is out of control too. I feel so much lol. I have a Maltese named Ace, so cute but a monster lol. Puppies are LOTS of work but so so worth it if you have the time. Great video!!
I can relate to this so much! I'm on day 3 and so far it's been pretty good. My morkie is 12 weeks old and I'm just full of stress. He has had only 1 accident inside but I'm just constantly worrying about him not learning to be potty trained. The first night was the worst cause when he started whining I immediately thought omg I made a mistake with getting a puppy. So I ended up putting him in my bed for the night and after that he slept through the whole night with no accidents. I'm hoping as time goes on my anxiety will diminish once I know he's mostly potty trained 😊
supposed to be buying a small Yorkipoo Tuesday and my grandpa doesn’t want me to but my mommy passed and I feel like this dog would be good for me I’ll have something to look forward to
the first month is the most exhausting thing. I genuinely thought I was in over my head but after a month/ 2 months my puppy didn't get up in the night to pee, slept till about 7:30 am and once you're able to take them outside on real walks it's much much easier to tire them out so they're not as rowdy in the house! also i got yak milk chews and antler chews that we're amazing to keep him busy in the house/ redirect where he'd chew (but i think they're supposed to be 4 months before they can have those). I also used a Lickimat and I used to spread and freeze healthy snacks on it and it was so good to keep him busy for like 20ish minutes and soothed his gums. as for the biting my dog is a jack russell x beagle and he did the exact same with the biting would snarl/ growl we tried everything and the only thing that seemed to work is every time he did that we would make a high pitched yelping sound and then leave the room for a minute. It's the most tedious process because the first few days we'd have to leave the room like 4-5 times before he got it but eventually he stopped.
omg i have a 9 week old jack russell beagle mix and thank you for saying all of this i have been making the yelping sound and then he stops and then turns to licking atm
My puppy is about 10 months old! My puppy was biting soooo much. He was getting my wrists and it was soooo frustrating. I totally get it. When he would bite on my wrist. I’d get up immediately and stand up and stop playing with him. And just make sure to not use your hands as toys! It is hard tho. Totally feel you:)
I have a puppy, she is 9 month now. Mine was a biter too but we just told her no bite over and over again until she finally got it. Also I think the bitting is only stage. It might get worse if they are teething. But eventually they will grow out of it. You just need a lot of positive reinforcement and repetition. It is a lot of work but also very rewarding. My puppy’s name is Maple and she is a Jack Russell!
I just got a mini Goldendoodle, her name is LuLu! This is our second week with her, and she’s 9 weeks old. Man, am I exhausted! She does the similar thing biting at hands even when we are holding toys. The worst part is she cries and cries all night if she’s in her crate 😩 we usually give in but need to work on it. Thanks for posting!
I have a pug named Alfie, he will be three months tomorrow. I have had him since mid December and he finally somewhat sleeps throughout the night. I now take him out at 10 pm then it’s straight to bed and on a good night he won’t wake up needing to go outside until 6:30-7 am. Although my dog also went through the biting stage, he now play bites only when he very hyper.
I have a 3 month old golden retriever named Bentley 😁 he has been just recently doing better with potty training but I have recently introduced him to bell training which i’ve heard has been super helpful for other people! it’s hard in the beginning but I promise it’s 100% worth every sleepless night! hang in there girl 😘
I’ve been having a few busy and stressful past couple of weeks so I’ve been rewatching the vlogs when you worked at Accenture and were so busy so I don’t feel as alone lol, I saw this and was like okay ivy it’s time for something happy
I got a puppy and has a 4.5 year old Aussie border collie mix(also my dog) and I was living at my parents while I was looking for a job after graduating college to raise the puppy. My parents have an older dog, who is 11 years old, 10 at the time. He never warmed up to Sulley, my puppy. I think it was because Sulley was already bigger than my parents dog at 10 weeks. There was an area that I had blocked off for my other dog and Sulley to play in and then I had a puppy pen to keep him in a small space. As far as training I would highly recommend Zak George's videos, especially lure training. Puppies dont know what to bite until they are around 5 months. Just put something in his mouth to distract him, it really really sucks but I was covered it bruises and cuts from my puppy. The first 9-10 months were HORRIBLE with Sulley, but he's super good now and such a sweetheart
i’m so happy for u! i begged my parents all of quarantine and they finally gave in because they’re working at home so it’ll be easier. now we have two happy puppy sisters!
I got a puppy the week before Christmas! Her name is violet and she’s a mixed breed. We adopted her. She was 3 months when I got her... and yes. Puppy life is hard! She is now fully vaccinated and this weekend I will be taking her to puppy preschool. 🤣🙌🏼
Wahh Bambino is so cute ❤️ I imagine that having a puppy or any other kind of pet is kind of like having children (at least the 25 year old me w/o kids likes to believe this): SUPER rewarding but a TON of work. I have two pet parrots and they have seriously brought me so much joy especially during quarantine, but trying to be productive and work with them around can be hard!
hi natalie! not sure if you’re aware, but just like a baby if you try to limit his naps thru the day and play more with him he’ll sleep a lot more during the night. 🤗
In my experience a sleeping puppy is a happy puppy! my dog trainer told me not to play with the dog with your hands, or around their face because then they will think your hands are a toy. so when he tries to bite you, clothes, etc, I suggest giving him a toy or something he is allowed to chew. my dog was really bitey at first as well but try to replace with toys, tell/teach them no, and make sure to exercise so he sleeps. it will get better with time, plus teething doesn't help at all lol but since he is food motivated that will help a lot with his training. he is so cute!
I have a 7 MO Golden Retriever named Dallas and he was an absolute devil at first. The biting gets better, when he goes for your hand pull away quick and say a strong NO and hand him a toy, if he goes for the toy do an encouraging yes. That is what i did and it worked within a day or two to help with that. I also would suggest to get a kong, you can put healthy treats like all natural peanut butter and freeze it with the kong, it is GREAT for the teething and will keep him busy for almost an hour. It gets better and he is so cute omg!!! Enjoy him while he is little
also be careful with the biting, mine infected my finger when he was 8 weeks I had to get antibiotics :o hes getting better with that now though but he was a huge biter at first
I have an 11 year old german shepherd, who is the sweetest dog ever but very territorial and this weekend i’m getting a yorkie which they seem to be very hyper and obviously very tiny especially compared to a german shepherd and i know at first he won’t like the yorkie but i’m hoping they’ll get along after a while.
I have a 13-year-old dog and when we were babysitting a puppy the best thing was to let our older dog have space where she could go that the puppy couldn't go.
This is everything I needed to watch during my work break
IKR!
I cant wait to be able to work instead of boring school
HE'S SO PRECIOUS

idk if it's a male or female when you type you said her and she and then you say good boy 😭

okay on my way rn for a puppy play date 🚗

glassbutterfly the easiest way is to put the treat over their head so that they sit automatically

I lost my dog last year. Watching this because I miss her. Her name was Penny and she was a cockerspineal. I miss have a dog around so much.
Hi I just wanted to say I am a big fan and I heard of the stuff that you can spray on your legs on your arms and on your clothes and on your carpet to make them stop fighting because I do not like this
Omg he's so so cute! Puppies are definitely so hard!
Soooo cute!😍
I have never been a dog person, but 2 years ago my family adopted a 4 year old dog. Her name is Betty and she is a labradoodle. I love her with my hole heart ❤️
I have had many dogs and one tip I learned when training basics try to make them hold the trick a couple of seconds like when sitting
I’m getting a dog soon so this is so amazing!
bambino is the cutest! i’ve grown up with beagles all my life, they’re the best even tho they can be really stubborn haha
Yes, please keep us updated!!!
Omg so cute! I want one of those babies as well 😍😍 you look like such a cute little happy family
I’m getting my dog tomorrow, I’m so excited c:
I got my dog today for Valentine’s Day to!
@@Lady-lw5lh Omgg congrats!!! My puppy is right here next to me, his name is Milo :D
Your so beautiful without makeup, I also love your home, I’m jealous
Going through the same thing right now! This is so relatable
supposed to be buying a small Yorkipoo Tuesday and my grandpa doesn’t want me to but my mommy passed and I feel like this dog would be good for me I’ll have something to look forward to
Live as puppies do: like everything is an adventure!
the first month is the most exhausting thing.
It's the most tedious process because the first few days we'd have to leave the room like 4-5 times before he got it but eventually he stopped.
omg i have a 9 week old jack russell beagle mix and thank you for saying all of this i have been making the yelping sound and then he stops and then turns to licking atm
bambino is such a sweetie i cannot.
My mood instantly lit up when I got the notification that Natalie uploaded ahhhh :,) currently watching while cleaning my room :))
Aw yay!
Yes I want to see more updates please! I swear he’s sooo cute 😍
I’m so sorry to hear that!!! Just remember that this is just a temporary season and not forever. I know it can be so stressful though
The most PRECIOUS LITTLE THINGGGGG
Nice I subbed you
I got a puppy and has a 4.5 year old Aussie border collie mix(also my dog) and I was living at my parents while I was looking for a job after graduating college to raise the puppy.
Your dog is so cute and his color is so beautiful.
He’s sooo cute! I’m gonna get a dog after COVID but I can’t with the cuteness
i’m so happy for u! i begged my parents all of quarantine and they finally gave in because they’re working at home so it’ll be easier. now we have two happy puppy sisters!
@Simona Thomas good luck queen!
I just got a German Shepherd puppy Friday. I’m EXHAUSTED LOL
@Olivia P aw❤️German Shepard’s are amazing
I got a puppy the week before Christmas! Her name is violet and she’s a mixed breed. We adopted her. She was 3 months when I got her... and yes. Puppy life is hard! She is now fully vaccinated and this weekend I will be taking her to puppy preschool. 🤣🙌🏼
How did you get your puppy? Adoption, friends pups, Craig’s list?
Im getting a Puppy maltipoo tomorrow and im so exited
Wahh Bambino is so cute ❤️
I imagine that having a puppy or any other kind of pet is kind of like having children (at least the 25 year old me w/o kids likes to believe this): SUPER rewarding but a TON of work. I have two pet parrots and they have seriously brought me so much joy especially during quarantine, but trying to be productive and work with them around can be hard!
Yes exactly! Tough but so worth it. Even though it’s only been a week, I can’t even imagine being home without him. He’s so preciois
hi natalie! not sure if you’re aware, but just like a baby if you try to limit his naps thru the day and play more with him he’ll sleep a lot more during the night. 🤗
Make sure to look up training bite inhibition for his biting!! Saved us from many cuts especially as they get older and bigger
BAMBINO IS ADORAAAABLE!!! IM SQUEELING
Yes the blue treats are soooo good my 1 month old dog gives them a 10/10 haha
In my experience a sleeping puppy is a happy puppy! my dog trainer told me not to play with the dog with your hands, or around their face because then they will think your hands are a toy. so when he tries to bite you, clothes, etc, I suggest giving him a toy or something he is allowed to chew. my dog was really bitey at first as well but try to replace with toys, tell/teach them no, and make sure to exercise so he sleeps. it will get better with time, plus teething doesn't help at all lol but since he is food motivated that will help a lot with his training. he is so cute!
we love the work out portion
he is adorable! i’m getting a puppy soon too!☺️
Aw which kind?!
@@NatalieBarbu i’m getting a goldendoodle! we think her name is gonna be luna or lola :)
@@olivialiggon that’s my dream dog 🥺🤗 so happy for you!!
He is so cute I am crying right now I wish I had a dog🥺
Same
I literally think he is 1000000
I have a 7 MO Golden Retriever named Dallas and he was an absolute devil at first. Enjoy him while he is little
Great tips!! I spoke to a trainer on zoom and they gave me so many recs
Beagles are usually raised in flea beds .
Hi. Puppies are truly a blessing❤️💙
Dog mom status - so cute!
I just got a new golden retriever/beagle puppy! he is 12 weeks now. Id love to see updates and tips because I'm learning myself haha
also be careful with the biting, mine infected my finger when he was 8 weeks I had to get antibiotics :o hes getting better with that now though but he was a huge biter at first
I have an 11 year old german shepherd, who is the sweetest dog ever but very territorial and this weekend i’m getting a yorkie which they seem to be very hyper and obviously very tiny especially compared to a german shepherd and i know at first he won’t like the yorkie but i’m hoping they’ll get along after a while.
So cute! Makes me want to get a puppy/cat! They bring so much joy:)
I have a 13-year-old dog and when we were babysitting a puppy the best thing was to let our older dog have space where she could go that the puppy couldn't go.
Aw🥺❤️ He is the cutest
