- We got a Husky Puppy! We are so excited to share this video of our new little husky pupper, Nyla.
The girlfriend and I have been wanting a puppy for a long time and the only thing stopping us was our travel plans. Obviously, those were canceled so our time to get a new puppy came a lot sooner. Enjoy this fun video! We'll be back to our normal content soon :)

When I was a kid we had a mixed breed of a German Shepard and Husky. She was so smart that when our house caught fire in the middle of the night, she alerted the family so we all got out alive. Now that my kids are all grown and have lives of their own, I found a new companion I named Chief. His first week with me and he already understood the puppy pads were for going potty on, (at least until he gets all his vaccinations) and I couldn't be happier with him! Your companion is adorable!
We got a husky puppy at six weeks (3 weeks ago). By the end of the 1st week, I was questioning what I had gotten myself in to. By week 2 with her, I was calling family to see if they wanted her. =( By God's grace they said no. We started creating more structure, more activity and training her and even in just a weeks time we've since a big difference. She's at the vet now getting vaccines and I already miss her. Thats what led me here. I can't imagine her not being apart of our family. Thanks for this REAL video.
As a husky owner that had 1 from 8 weeks until death. I can tell you that you're in for a long ride. A husky requires not only constant attention like a child but once he gets older it still needs a routine of going out and running for miles every day it has to get up in routine and run for miles. Mine was lucky enough to accompany me in some backcountry snowboarding in the Winter time. I hope that you'll have the time and efforts of put into making a great dog and not just push it off on someone else in a year and a 1/2 when it becomes an unruly teenager. By the way Huskies don't usually break out their teenage years until 2 or 3 years old..
Thank you for the honest truth. I have a husky that is 3 months old, but this advise just tells me that I need to be more active for the pup. =)
You got that right. I got my first husky at 13 weeks old and he passed just shy of his 13th birthday. Our current female we got her at 7 weeks, 5 days and she turned 2 at the end of January. It’s constant work but also constant laughing
I got a female German Shepherd 8 months old. We really had our doubts at first as she was not good at first with strangers and other dogs. I had always said that I would not tolerate ia aggressive dog, but I was committed to caring for her. We slowly learned how and when to acclimate her with others
She ended up becoming a loving companion, and once she got to know strangers, she would really love them. We lost her last fall. She had a heart attack and passed on the way to the vet. I miss her so much, but she taught me to learn how to understand her and adapt her to different situations, and not to give up on a precious pet.
There is nothing more wonderful than bringing home a Husky puppy. What a precious age.❤🐶❤
She’s adorable! Yes, lots of work but so worth it!!! Training classes with other people and their puppies are helpful (when things get going again) Enjoy the puppy stage 😊
Yes yes!! Totally agree. Thanks Paula :)
The first year with my Husky puppy, I really did not know if I was going to make it. I adjusted to her though and i decided just to live for her. She loved that. Huskies huskies think they are in charge.
She tore up my house and I’m not being funny. We grew so close during her 12 years and now my heart s broken and don’t really think I will make it.
Her eyes
🌀🌀
︶
I hear they might turn white 😬
Yeah my husky had those eyes and they turned really light blue
Yeah I like huskies but it kinda freaks me out
I'm getting a husky puppy in 2 months. I always wanted a dog & I'm so exicted but I'm also lowkey pretty nervous. I'll be a first time dog owner & i fear the what if's
A husky isn’t recommended as a first time owner I know from experience mine is 10 weeks old and is a pain in the ass trust me😂 you have to be responsible mine mouths me a LOT
I’m getting my husky pup September 4th!!! I’m so excited but Ik he’s gonna be a lot of work☺️
Duxcz you can have a husky as a first time owner just need the commitment
Yoenia Dorado do you have im ?
@@linhphan1339 Yes i do😊 I've had her for a month & couple of weeks. It's not hard for me cause i did my research & know what to expect. The only frustrating thing is the biting but that's only cause she's teething so its understandable. Other then that I'm very commited to her & very happy to have her in my life❤😊
Mine is 12 weeks old. They are like a hairy toddler that never grows up. Good luck I am up at 3:00 a.m. and she is ready for play time.
Got a husky like a week and a half, but it’s hella of a job. I was stressing out and about to breakdown, but I’m still hanging in guys 😭. If it wasn’t for my sisters helping me, I believe I would have been part of the statistics.
I got a husky puppy 3 days ago, it’s been to hard🥺I feel bad because I feel like I regret getting him, but I can’t give up on him
They are super challenging but please don't give up. I can't imagine life without my huskies in it. It gets easier. 🐺❤️
Why are they difficult
They are very intelligent animals and they become bored easily. They need constant exercise and structure when they're young and some of them don't lose that puppy energy for several years. Jax is going to be twelve and he still tears through the house like he's three. I have to bring him outside and let him run it off when he gets that way. But at the end of the day, he is my furbaby and I can't imagine being without him. ❤️
Guys, The Puppy Blue's is a legit thing and is similar to postpartum depression. What you're feeling is normal and valid. You can get through it.
Edit: Now, someone say this to me next week. I'm getting a husky puppy this weekend.
she is beautiful!
Thank you so much dude! Means a lot ✊
Yep
Huskies are likely in the top 3 most challenging breed if not #1. As sled dogs they are bred to make decisions that overrule their owner, this is by design because out on the ice there may be instances where they do know better than you. But this trait carries over into everything. We definitely went through the "did we make a mistake" moment those first couple weeks when we got our first one 5 years ago (we have 2 now). But learn what works, consistency and followthrough are absolutely key. When properly trained they are the most amazing dogs ever (we get loads of compliments from vets and groomers who always say normally huskies are often troublesome for them but love ours). Put the work in, they aren't for the feint of heart and if anyone reading this is thinking of getting a husky and has never owned a husky before (I dont think normal dogs count as experience) definitely do a LOT of research and make sure you are prepared for it because I guarantee those first few months are hell. However I will say once you have 1 trained, getting a second at least for us was WAY easier. Both probably because we knew what to expect the second round but also we had a great example to use to train the new one. Amazing breed but can be terrible for the wrong person, use extreme caution :D. instagram.com/rebel.and.cinder/
We adopted a 9 month old husky around the same time this video was posted. Not as young as Nyla, but still a handful. Lot's of training and patience needed and she is finally starting to settle down. We also take her to doggie day care a few times each week for socialization and she was awarded "Dog of the Week" last week. They bring her in when there is a nervous new dog or a puppy. Huskies can be awesome!
Mom and dad can’t stop smiling the whole carride home 😆🥰
My husky baby has been with me for almost 2 months. She’s 15 weeks now and every step of the way has been more joy than challenge. Honestly, the difficulties are outweighed by the happiness she brings with her little personality and ways. So super attached to her like she’s my child 😅 train at every opportunity and swap out processed treats for healthy snacks like watermelon, blueberries and dried organ meats.
First week pretty accurate but wish you showed more of that howling and crying random times during the night Lol
Congrats on the new pup. This is probably the best video I found with good video quality and content about someone's experience with husky pupies. I'm overly excited and researching like crazy since im getting a husky a few weeks from now.
My husky is the same as yours! Very playful, mouthy, and crazzzyyyy! She’s 7 weeks too! We always play with her for about 2-4 hours then she takes a 1 and a half hour nap. We do that 3 times a day! She starts her day at around 8am then knocks out at 12 then wakes up at 1:30 and then knocks out at 4 then wakes up at 7 then knocks out at 10. She’s been sleeping all night except yesterday she woke up at 4am... lol but she is a handful! Pees anywhere and bites anything! Very smart dog though. Knew how to sit and give paw at 5 weeks... 👍🏻 love this dog! Wouldn’t trade her for anything!
This made me really happy
Aw super glad to hear it
TRAIN IT TO BE CHILL! I got mines 2months born and it was hyper af lol. After she got her shots she calmed down slightly but over the years shes gotten better.
You got this guys! I absolutely understand your feelings but knowing about your work ethic, i've no doubt that you guys will be very responsible and loving "owners". Huskies definitely belong to the more demanding breeds in many regards and i'm sure you we're aware of that but nobody can really imagine how that plays out if you haven't experienced it yourself. That's often the issue with first-time owners, they choose solely based on what looks the cutest or most special and don't know anything about the non-optic characteristics of that breed.
Anyway, can't wait to watch at least some of the memories you three will have together, gonna be lots of fun. Take care!
100% brotha!! I appreciate the encouragement!!
Anybody that hit the thumbs down on this video…you have no soul. Beautiful dog.
Welcome to the husky fam tips to keep in mind morning brushing is key, and lots of training your lucky they are smart and quick learners!
Appreciate the tips. Thanks!
Most beautiful thing I've ever laid my eyes on. She is adorable. 🥰🥰🥰
Yea toys will replace any biting your doing a good job
My man Zack. It’s been a hot min. A lot has happened in my life good and bad. Your vlogs are just as good as ever. I almost got a German Shepard puppy from a friend but had to refuse because I was NOT ready. This video proves it. Although that Nyla is so dang cute it makes me look forward to when I can get a dog. Keep it up man.
Dude! Sorry to hear life has been a little nuts. I’m glad the video helped. I’ll be making more regular soon. Keep pushin 🙏
So happy to see this video. Almost 24 hours with mine and I’m exhausted mentally.
Damn that's one cute puppy, considering getting a puppy myself. Look forward to watching her grow up!
Thanks Chris! Big responsibility. 10+ years of companionship. Do it!
We adopted a husky puppy three weeks ago. He was given up for adoption by the previous owners after having him for only a week. He is a LOT of work. We have a golden retriever almost 2 years old but her training is also going down the drain with the new puppy comming into the pack. I have had several mental breakdowns and cried a bunch over the first week espl but also its getting better. He’s learning slowly but steadily. It has helped that we are working from home due to social distancing so we are there to help him understand what is right and what isnt. Its very difficult with a husky puppy but I hope its all worth it when he grows up to be a lovely companion to us and our other dog.
Congrats on your beautiful fur baby. I've had a husky in my life for the past 27 years, each of them amazing. Enjoy every minute with her. 😁🐺❤️
I swear if I get 25 cent every time they say ''good girl'' I'll be rich!
Both are loving 'owners' and I hope to see them become good friends in the future!
Best of luck!
Yessss....we just brought home a husky puppy. Angel is 11 weeks old. Very difficult potty training her. Her biting habits are out of control. We question ourselves as well but we're sticking with it. I'll definately be following you guys because I'm at my wits end.
How’s it going now? I got one a week ago and the biting is crazy
My sister got a husky and she knows absolute jack about it, luckily her brother has had 2 life experiences with them.
OMG! What else to say! Enjoy your life with this pup, I miss my Husker of 16 years.
Damn that’s such a good age for a husky, he/she must’ve been very healthy, good job mate
Mine is about 6 weeks 5 and a half he’s starting to bite A lot at first he was so sweet now he’s so bitey unless he’s sleepy
My dad surprised me with a husky puppy😭I started crying when I saw him.I was so happy. He told me he was going to work and now that he got used to me i'm just trying to teach him to sit.🥰
I’m getting mine September 4th🥺
where did you get yours because i don’t know where to find one
We are getting our husky puppy in a few days. Your video really made us laugh. We realized we are in for a serious change. Thank you for the reality.!!
We are getting one too at the end of next week! We know we are in for some bugs changes ahhh kinda scared!! Good luck to you!! 😃😀
We are almost ready for a husky puppy. Our first husky girl passed a few weeks ago and she was the best friend anyone could ask for but it took a lot of work to train her over the years, and I’m kinda afraid of starting at square one, but going to take it slow 🙏🏼 thanks for this video. it is a reminder of those doggy training classes and time it took to train our girl. But man oh man is it worth it ♥️ much love on your journey together 🙏🏼
Glad to see you back at it brother! Much Love always! Looking forward to your comeback! Love Nyla she's really cute and those eyes
I completely resonate with your experience as we have a Pomsky puppy who is now 5 months old, but the first few weeks nearly broke us, and we were wondering if we too had made a mistake with the breed we chose. I see no Pomeranian in her looks or temperament - she is Husky through and through. We love her though. I think it is an important message you have shared to anyone thinking of adopting a Husky/Pomsky. Be prepared for that brick wall and breaking point, but know that you'll come out the other side with a beautiful family member that's totally worth it. Perhaps prenatal/antenatal classes should be had for pets too, not just babies. - Thanks for posting. RG
Hard work pays off! I have a border mix cutie but squeaks toy in your ear I don’t recommend a very active dog for first dog it’s a lot of responsibility, but if you want a active dog remember there at puppy stage the needs are -toys,kennel-fence places, big yard needs fence or invisible fence, food, water, dog bed,etc so much to do with puppy’s and they soon need to upgrade!
No hate bc he’s so cute but ur meant to get puppies from 8 weeks minimum
Thank you for this video !! I’m getting mine in two weeks
Thank you so much, please may you do an update video please and thanks.
Totally speaks my experience right now with my new puppy!!
This is a year later, but would like to make some suggestions. (1) do not put her weewee pad in the same area where she sleeps and eats, huskies hate that and being confined to an area that has all these 3 things close together will make them very anxious. (2) huskies shed A LOT so you need to brush them every other day, for puppies 10-15 minutes and adults 20-30 minutes, use shedding shears to get rid of loose hair and do it outside. (3) huskies are pulling dogs by nature, so when you take them for walks they will pull on the leach. Lastly, they are really high jumpers so watch out for this. They can jump on top of counters and they can even jump gates. They are very smart and also stubborn, once they learn something they are ready for something else.
Mine is 2and a half months now, very stubborn and full of energy, sniffing everything when we are walking. He loves everybody and plays with cats too.He is sleeping outside and when we go in home he is whining and it is so stressfull 😒.I hope I will have the energy and patience to keep up with him and his crazy personality❤️
Love your beautiful puppies. I'm so glade you made this video and delighted your doing this. Ted
Just got a husky pup and this was so relatable ! Appreciate this video bud!
Congrats!! And enjoy it. Goes fast ;)
For my puppy she want to be near us during nights. After 2 weeks we move her back into the living room she did fine. She had to learn to stay alone while we went to work it was stressful but they will adapt
I dont understand USA, the puppy should NOT leave their mom before they are 8 weeks. My heart is broken
It depends on the state. In Alabama- Louisiana (the state's ive lived in) they have to be 8 weeks. It's different in other states. Some of them dont have age laws at all meaning that as soon as they're born they're able to be sold. It's ridiculous. They need to be with siblings and the mother until 8 weeks
Also, you have to consider it might be a rescue and not have a mother anymore for some reason. While this is a few weeks younger than recommended, if properly cared for and looked after, things should still be fine. Our puppy is two weeks old and lives with one sibling (a brother) and a foster family appointed by the local shelter because her mother died in childbirth. We visit her and get updates on her frequently, but we won't bring her home until she is about 7 or 8 weeks because of her unique situation. Her brother already has a promised home too. Every situation can't be ideal, unfortunately.
I see that a lot in US American videos as well it's wild. Very much illegal where I come from
Exactly how mine is right now same age but first day I scruffed her n replaced hand for toys for biting problem, do the SAME FOR EVERYTHING, shoes, clothes, couch, face😭, gave her sturdy chewy toys that stimulate she likes Nyla bones (ironic). Also she f***ing loves ground meat, bok choi
, carrots, coconut oil, turmeric combo SHE LOVES IT she’s always hungry licking her bowl, her poop was runny from whatever they were giving her but we trained her working for this food she’s obsessed! her poop is solid n take them outside after every nap, play n food I’ll pick her up as soon as she sniffs I have a small house n leave the door to the back open cuz there’s no bugs yet and she goes outside now after 5 days! don’t encourage pee pee pass it says it’s okay to go on the floor. n she learned outside is better than my low disappointed no. Also… baby gates.
Congrats
Have patience. She is too small. Dont get frustrated. Do with love.
GORGEOUS husky !
That puppy is sweeeeet
I have a video of my pup climbing out of her kennel as a puppy too exactly the same way Nyla did lol. Actually had to get rid of it because I didn’t want her to get caught in it
Dude so crazy right?! We had to replace ours too LOL
Wow amazing eye colour hope stays until she’s grown but she’s beautiful all the same
So how is going with her? Was expecting to see more videos!
Wow I love huskies special brown and white odd eye
I think Zack is in a very good position. Super cute dog and a nice girlfriend. Children could change this into a worse nightmare. I hope for Zack that he is clever enough to
live his good life without destroying everything with children that change everything into the oposite. Zack should think about it. Best choice to take a Husky. Nyla is perfect.
I want a pup so bad! So cute dude
Thanks my friend. Do it!
Those eyes are so pretty I want her so much!!!!
GORGEOUS GIRL!!!!!
Did you make anymore videos with the Husky? I couldn't find any others
One thing I recommend is antlers. They work great for puppies! If she starts biting harder then just replace it with a bone, toy, or antler.
Hello is there any updates on your dog?. 📸 pictures
did you train her one skill until she got that skill then moved onto the next or did you teach her multiple skills
Awe our huskies have the same color and birthday
We need an update video! I just got an 8 week old husky boy!
Hii! I need some advice. My dog. She’s sometimes the best dog ever, while sometimes it’s just hard to take care of her. My family doesn’t seem to love her as much as I do, my brother is terrible to her. I don’t want her in a family where she’s not loved, it breaks my hard and rips it to shreds. It’s so hard taking care of her, but I love her so much. What do I do? Do I let her go to another family and move on? Or do I keep her in a family where she’s not really loved? I’m so scared, I don’t know what to do! Please help. (By the way, I’m sending this to a bunch of popular UA-cam videos, sorry to spam! 😣)
If you think another family would take better care of her then you need to do it. Especially if your life doesn’t allow you to take care of her and give her the attention she needs. But if you can take full responsibility and make it happen then do it! If your brother is abusive to your dog then have a serious conversation with him. If you don’t trust him to be good to her while you’re gone then give her to another family. I know it’s hard but the dog has one life! Just like us :)
Aww so cute
Getting a husky puppy at about 7 weeks at the end of the month. Anyway you can make another video updating us on your first year with Nyla?
I will! In the meantime you can see her on my IG @zackkravits
my adult husky doesn't get 3 cups of food a day. I hope you're not feeding her that much.
As a puppy they need more food because they are practically always in a growing spurt.
she doesnt bite at at all? my puppy does nothing but bite constantly
I am going through this atm I have almost a eight week old husky girl too.
do you use any app for puppy? I noticed you got an alert when she wakes up in the middle of the night.
What’s the dog trainers UA-cam ?
Ahh I just linked it! Here he is: ua-cam.com/channels/JDSFaLJsLt2yHEKp3JM4_g.html
Will you be making another husky video? We are about 3 weeks away from picking up our agouti Husky
I can see you two making wonderful parents. Blowing baby pixie dust ya'lls way~ ♡
I'm definitely gonna get a red husky if I'm ever gonna get a dog
The biggest misconception about dogs is what is a dog. A dog is not a toy! The vast majority act in this way. A dog is a living being who must be, first of all, on they're own, with you or without your presence. Transforming a husky in a toy, you actually change his nature. Husky have his wild side still dominant and is a dominant canine. Avoid to feed it from your hand, avoid to let husky access you whenever he wants and don't push to much on training him, he don't like it at all. Create an interaction based on feelings and les on words. At 4 months, with this approach, my husky stays on her own for hours and even when she access me to play and i don't want it, she perceive it and let me go. Husky is an emotional canine and once or twice a day need affection, but avoid to let it on the couch or in bed! Consider that you want to keep it as much is possible, natural...!
Looks like Akira i just picked up today 🥺😩
