Gameplay wise, more than 3 append skills unlocked at a time seems largely superfluous if you can continuously switch them around, so it really is completionists getting screwed here (2 more copies of Da Vinci-Chan here I come). Rather, even excluding servant coins, I think I would hesitate to invest in all the resources necessary to max out the 3rd skills at this point if I can just switch another skill to it temporarily instead when it’s useful. The changes to pity should hopefully make it an overall wash for cost as well, in terms of getting more copies for less?
Its so clearly was an Aniplex-side forced feature, they where going to do it anyway to test the waters (thats why this respond was done so fast prob) so they braced for the 9th Anni and tried to take the heat off with the "change" in "Pity" for hoping that Leviathans will accept it but it didnt stop the backlash anyway lmao
Do you really believe that? This was clearly planed, the 120 SQ puts the SQ gifted for anniversary this year at around last year anniversary. They launched the bait to see if the community took it, in case it did they would got away with this and giving even less that last year, in case they didn't this was already prepared to shut people up and whoever complains now will get the "give them a finger, and they'll take the whole hand" treatment. If they were really sorry you'd see deeper changes to the point that without the bounds you wouldn't need a freaking NP10 to cap a 5 star, NP18 for limited 4 stars and for permanent 4 stars NP 30. This is a nothingburger.
What I'll say here is that it's better than nothing. The best would have been a legitimate fix for the coin problems. Be it more coins for bond levels, less cost for append skills, universal servant coins, etc. However, this at least helps ease my absolute rage. Because I can at least discard my thoughts to fully max out a character more than I can feeling stuck because I can't unlock better append skills due to already unlocking lesser ones. If I can swap say Lancer damage up for the skill cooldown on Melusine that's something I can live with. It's not great. But...I can breathe a bit with this. This, I can live with. At least until hopefully someday that they fix the coin situation.
Assuming the changes between skills can be made without limit and multiple times, this is now an overall positive change imo as long as you don’t feel the need to fully max out your servants, since you can now change skills around based on situation, which makes the whole system feel far more useful to me. Making a decision that is very situational with the skills always rubbed me the wrong way, since the 1st and 3rds skills were often useless most of the time. Now I can just have them unlocked if they actually matter, and just use the others that will always be at least somewhat useful otherwise.

But yeah, it was a good movement, although it would had been better if it were part of the anniversary instead of an emergency fix. But still doesn't work the necessity of NP8 5 star for maxing XD
◈ TL;DR - Lasengle will be adding a feature in which you will be able to switch one Append Skill to another without using more Servant Coins freely. - Switching Append Skills will mean that the newly unlocked Append Skill will inherit the enhancement level of the previous skill so you will not have to level the Append Skill again. - Servant Coins for every single Servant rarity that were used for Holy Grail Casting before 4 Aug will be entirely recompensed, and the amount of Holy Grails that could be forged in the past will also be given out based on the total amount of Servant Coins the player has amassed during their playtime in FGO. As a further apology, 120x Saint Quartz will be distributed to all players.
