for me it go camera, not screen mirroring
My phone name isn’t showing when I click on the arrow next to the record button but I plugged it in. I also tried to reset my MacBook and still nothing. I have a iPhone XR and a MacBook Air.
Great content, really straightforward! I can now manipulate my iPhone which has a broken screen and access the life-critical apps again until getting a replacement. I hope every instructional video is as straightforward is this one.

Thanks so much! Finally gave in and got an iPhone and couldn't figure out why it wasn't mirroring. Was choosing the new screen recording instead of the new movie recording option in Quicktime! Still frustrated as to why my iphone can't wirelessly mirror to my MacBook though. Thanks for the thorough and detailed directions!

How do you get sound?
This use to work for me but now its not. When I select my iPhone 12 Pro (v15.4.1) it's just showing as a black screen. I have an M1 Macbook Pro running on v12.3.1. Do you know the problem?
Found out the problem. If you are connecting via a dongle it might not work. Need to connect directly into the Mac with an appropriate cable.

@@flyryde I've just check mine again and its working if I connect my original Apple cable directly into my M1 Mac (not via a dongle) it works fine.

worked for the first time, is not working again
it's easier on ios 16 now, just connect using the cable then pull down Control Center on your iphone, select screen mirroring then choose the name of your macbook.. this is even better without any delay.. see for yourself.. hope this helps.. :)

What’s the point in doing that if you can’t control the phone with the pop up on the computer. Pointless
To get a bigger image of what’s on your phone to your MacBook.
the reason i need it is because i'm filming a video from bird's eye view and i want to be able to see what i'm recording. this is not pointless and can be used for many different scenarios
