I've always done this through apps like Air Parrot. It was absolutely terrible. Lag, 20 minutes max screen time etc. Years later, this random video comes up in my recommendations. I watch it for a minute and a half, and am absolutely blown away by how well this cable method works! I didn't even know this was a thing! Plus since it's not relying on WIFI, it's amazing! I still can't believe that this works with an iPad that still runs IOS 9.3.5 lol. Thank you sooo much for making this video!

I have an issue which " the operation couldn't be completed" , it was worked with me days ago then I accedently press on screen mirroring on control center and stop mirroring then there is no way to enable it again !

The time stamps on the sides worked, and exiting to the home screen both worked fine, it just wouldn’t show the video. It’s probably something on Netflix’s end, but I was wondering if anyone had a solution for this.

The USB cable option works BUT if your goal is to watch a movie offline pre-downloaded on your phone from some of the main streaming platforms, that does not work for me. I get a dark screen as soon as I start the movie(s).
Is there a way to display the iphone horizontally instead of vertically? I want to use quicktime player to capture my iphone screen but I want it to be horizontal.

@@techlifeunity Doesnt work. It just captures audio from your computers mic, or headphone mic. You cant hear any audio at all, so really, this method is kinda pointless.

when i looked for my phone on quicktime, my phone didnt show up. i tried unplugging and replugging my usb but it didnt work. it keeps saying itunes wont trust my phone
@@melaniabergallo8701 Hiii , i just had the same problem but fixed it n seconds! So i keep clicking the "New Movie Recording" tab and my phone was not popping up... so i tried the "New Screen Recording" tab. It brought up my privacy settings. I then had to check off that i allowed access to quicktime player as well as google chrome (this was so they could record my screen). I allowed it, restarted quicktime player and went back to trying "New Movie Recording". Worked right away, maybe give this a try?

This would be possible if you have the iPhone physically in the orientation you want it to appear on the Mac screen before you start up the mirroring. Hope that helps!
When i tried playing something through amazon prime, he audio worked fine but the video kept pausing and showing the message “ the video will resume once the device connection is better”. What to do?
For method 2, is it auto-renew or something? Like I want to know if will I be charged after the 7 day trial end. Because if so I have to figure out how to cancel the payment or something. Can anyone help?

You would have to physically turn the iPhone horizontally before you start recording.

For those not getting sound on QuickTime, choose your iPhone as the mic source in QuickTime record. Not intuitive but works.

Use the volume slider at the bottom of the QuickTime window. You may have to hover your cursor over it to make the menu appear.

Your phone has to be unlocked and when you plug it on you need to tap "Trust" on your iPhone screen to allow your Mac to access its data.

Monica Mejsak try to use the microphone option, it worked for me
Just make sure your iPhone is chosen as the microphone source too. (Same area you select the camera source.)

The quicktime option doesn't work for Netflix.. Netflix assumes your recording the shows..

Lillian Dear use the USB port on the right of ur Mac. Cuz I connected mine in the left and it didn’t show up too. But now it works
It will only show up if your iPhone is plugged in, screen unlocked, and you've given permission for the computer to access your device.

I figured it out. Just select the drop down menu where you would select your phone but go down a little bit and select your phone under microphone
