  • One summer, I spent a month cycling through Norway, cycling 2,500 kilometres between the southern city of Bergen and the Arctic city of Tromsø. In this video, I share my five must-see places to check out when cycle touring in Norway.
    Notes on locations:
    1. Hardangerfjord is a day’s ride from Bergen. As with many places in Norway, there are some long tunnels in the area, so getting to parts of the fjord will require some planning (and ferries). Here’s a map showing the tunnels in Norway that cyclists can and can’t use:

The town I mention that’s on the shores of Hardangerfjord is called Odda:

    2. Feeling masochistic, I rode/dragged/carried by bike to Trolltunga, which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. You could just leave everything in a hotel or campsite in one of the nearby towns, like Odda.
    3. The town with the football pitch in Lofoten is called Henningsvær.
    4. The shots of Andøya were taken near Stave and Bleik.
    5. The famous mountain on Senja is called Segla. It’s best seen from Mt. Hesten.
