Thank you for your whippet videos. After watching and reading about whippets I put a deposit down for a male before a litter was born. I was wondering if she would have any males. She had a litter of all males, 8 of them. I picked him up last week the day after I retired and he is 11 weeks old now. He’s quite the character compared to other breeds I’ve had. I have to say I’ve never seen a pup sleep in such weird positions. A great pup, thank you.

We’re getting our female whippet pup this coming weekend and doing lots of prep work to get our flat sorted! Really enjoyed your video. We’re really happy with our decision to get a girl… and our little Figgy will look very much like Rosie!!

I remember watching your vlogs before deciding to get my dog! My female whippet Lola (now 2.5 yo) is also a people-dog, sometimes I think she likes humans more than dogs :) She is very affectionate and also will sit on/by my hip whenever opportunity allows. I decided to go for key-hole spaying, which was about £650 in 2022 but the healing took literally 2 days and scars were invisible within a month. Also something to mention, I raised Lola from 8 weeks old with our 9-year old cat but I was careful to teach Lola that cat is the boss :) and they live happily together and respect each other's boundaries. Also you say that closer to 3 yo whippets tend to calm down, I can definitely see Lola is much more relaxed now, she won't play with EVERY dog lol, she has become quite picky actually. Whippets are lovely beautiful, affectionate, intelligent dogs but I'd say the main thing to consider is their attachment to humans, they do suffer if left alone.

Ahhh... Great video and so lovely to go back to see how Rosie interacted with Louis when she was young 🙏💖. Louis is very much like Merlin and tells us when it's time for anything... staring at us too... It's so funny isn't it.. we call it his paw watch 😂. He's always been more of a loner and likes his own space. I always wonder what it would have been like if we had had another whippet 🤔. He's nearly thirteen end of November... I can't believe that really... time has flown so quickly. Hugs to Louis and Rosie and thanks for the lovely video 🥰🙏🐾🐾💖

Fabulous advice and shared knowledge here. Your pups are pearlers! Far too soon I lost my girl Dusty. It's been four years and I'm **almost** ready for another (it hit me hard). She was so affectionate and loved all people. Never happier than chasing her ball or snuggled up in a lap. I'd been warned that whippets can be shy and/or aloof but not the Dustbag (one of her many nicknames lol)! Bold as brass and twice as bright. As for cats? Well she just wanted to taste one, that's all... I'll believe her, thousands wouldn't. ;)

I have a female whippet she is now 10 years old, had her since she was 9 weeks old she loves her cuddles and sleeps on the bed, she is very protective, great watch dog, but dont think she would ever hurt anyone, have friends that have whippets as well dont think i would ever get a different breed of dog ever, thanks for your video.

Lovely to see a whippet video again Dave.
Our Bryn is a rescue lurcher, sweet, loving to all people, dogs a bit more particular but he has his friends.
Not long after we got him we discovered he had "sleep startle" which was scary until I researched it.
Common in greyhounds and lurchers but does it occur in whippets can anyone tell me?
Thanks poo pickers and pointy dogs, lovely video😄🤗🐈👍🐾🐾

One of the funny things about whippets and lurchers is if you try to walk them in foul weather, they just look at you like you're mad. "No thanks" is the message, which to be frank, is great.

my female whippet Vala is 3 years this september. is a sweetheart. big on sleep. she's on the smaller side of whippets but she also was the smallest in her litter. she is very clingy to me. she will follow me anywhere, until there are guests. she will give them all the attention and ignore me completely, but ultimately she ends up in my lap which i think is fairly normal

Lovely hounds! I like to have a breeding pair, even if I do not want pups. They have a beautiful genuine affection for one another, it's lovely to witness. My male was the velcro dog, very affectionate, my female was a bit more independent but still very affectionate. Both were very easy to train. best dogs ever!

My Loui will be 13 next month and even though hrs paralysed he is still the boss of Storm lol funnily enough he hates Alsations too, I rescued him at 8 months so he probably had an incident b4 I got him. Rosie is so beautiful, those ears and soulful eyes. ❤ would love to get Storm trained up as a therapy dog, I call him my nurse maid, he's so loving. ❤

Really interesting video as always, I was always told males are more affectionate and Ronnie's breeder said the same so really interesting to get your perspective. Must admit from a personal point of view that I wouldn't have such a big age gap again, Jason is 11.5 and Ronnie just over 2, he can be quite rough when play fighting with Jason. Ronnie has very high prey drive so that's something I need to seek additional advice for, if he sees a cat he goes berserk, need to find a way to channel that more productively. Both our boys are very affectionate but will also snuggle up on their own. If Paul and I are watching TV Jason's favourite spot is between us ❤❤

My girl was an alpha female, and she definitely expected the other dogs in the house to acknowledge that. She was still a very sweet dog and very easy to train, just a very serious minded dog that was bred specifically for hunting by Irish Travellers. So, I suppose you could say she was moody but I would say my human female companions were much moodier 😁.

Good show you two. Our lab is coming 12.5 years old and our deaf Collie is 8, time flies and their lives are short, that's the sad part. I'm dreading the day the lab, Chaz say's bye, my daughter tortured us to get another dog after our old Border Collie died, we didn't want another dog again but we eventually caved in; the lab is my daughter's dog really. My daughter was 10 years old when we got her, she'll be a mess for a while when Chaz goes but hey! No regrets at all.

We have a female puppy. She brought a lot of beauty to our life. In the future we consider to have a female whippet as well but what if we do not want to have puppies? Is it difficult to keep the dogs apart when the female dog is fertile? We live in a relatively small apartment with a garden. It would be difficult to keep the dogs in different parts of the house. Thank you

We’ve never had a problem and it’s all to do with their training and not the dog
Setting the norms from day on is key
Including leaving your dog for short times to get used to being alone and understanding you will come back
It sounds like you have set a norm that you will always be there
There’s lots of training videos on UA-cam about this
      Hope that helps 🙏👍👍
