@@tworunningbrooms The downside is I've got more plates shoes that daily ones. Mrs isn't impressed with yet more in the collection which is close to a dozen.
Fully signed up to adidas….Boston 12 for runs up to 90mins, Takumi Sen 8 for ‘racing’, Adios 6 for faster training, and on my last pair of the version one SL for easy runs, awaiting the new SL2 as SL2.0/SL3.0 caused me issues. I log all my training in Fetcheveryone, which keeps track of kit mileage too. Usually only get to about 250 miles before niggles, which are then cured by new shoes!
Some Adidas models you can get more out of. I'm on nearly 500 miles on my first pair of Pro 3s. It's only because the upper is splitting that I'm looking for a new pair.
I have a lot of shoes, but also have what I call my specialty shoes - thus in addition to what you mentioned if it's colder than 28F/-2C or snow/slushy roads I'll wear a Goretex shoe, if it's hotter than 90F/32C I'll go with something super ventilated/mesh. Then I have injury recovery shoes (motion control) which are horrible until you need a shoe to restrict/limit your mechanics and keep them in a safe zone as you recover/heal - then a MC shoe is your best friend allowing you to safely return to running without producing inflammation or swelling in your knee or hip - and come back early as your injury is actually still healing.
When I started triathlons back in 2012, i had one pair of shoes and that was it. I ran in them for three years and replaced them with some funky Hoka triathlon shoes before doing an Ironman. I had absolutely no idea about different types of shoes and what you might need. Now, i have a ridiculous amount of shoes and I cant explain how I got here! I do get annoyed when good pairs of shoes are discontinued - just business I guess. My general weekly rotation is one easy daily trainer, one faster/race shoe, one trail shoe and one run in a pair of Altras for injury prevention.
Great video....got to say I have quite a few different pairs lol. 3 x Vaporfly, alphafly, 2 x 1080v12, Novablast 3, Rebel 3, Saucony Speed 2 + Pro 1, invincible 2, trail, cross country spikes and just bought some track spikes.
I think my biggest issue is that I’m constantly wanting to try new shoes and can’t bring myself to picking up a second pair of the same shoe. I’ll buy that new version after they have made a number of changes and when I’m out on the run wishing I had stocked up on the old version.
Yeah it's an interesting topic. I could get away with the zoomfly3 and vaporfly2 for everything. Though I have more and try to share the load. Nearly half way through the yard and only bought 1 pair this year.
@@tworunningbrooms yeah it is so longer miles per run but less force and scraping the shoe on tarmac maybe 🤔 couple 10ks the year as you know but other than that back to halfs and fulls
Cracking video guys. I've been out on some unwalkable trails this morning 😅 I've noticed recently, as a free user of Strava, that the app no longer shows me the distance run in each pair, as I'm selecting which shoe goes with a particular activity. Now I'm not sure how far I've run in each pair, so I'm going to need to use Dawn's method of going by how they feel.
Price is my motivation to buy. Not interested in this year's models or colours. Looking for a decent price and if it's at a great price ... I might buy one and get Sal to buy one for birthday or Xmas. I've got 7 at the moment, one of which is for the trails. Looking towards December before I might even consider buying another.
We both have a dew older pairs of non carbon trainers. Dawn liked Nike Pegasus and myself New Balance 150s. But in truth, we now run mainly in Adidas, which has carbon rods rather than plates.
I love running shoes❤. I tend to buy the next pair when the 1st pair is in the post 😂. Currently around 15 pairs. Those Takumi sen 9s are they a tight fit or what, great fast shoe though. Keep on keeping on guys.
I am 15, did I over do it? I got novablast 4, adidas boston 12, vapourfly 3 and novablast 3 (close to end of life span, iv had for 2 years). I used to run on and off every now and the but the past 10 months iv been running almost everyday at 40/km week
It's up to.the individual how many pairs of trainers they have, but do we actually need as many as we may own, probably not. We both have many pairs, but that's because we like owning and running in them. However, we have far more than is needed. 😁
You need as many shoes as you need to make you feel good and keep producing shoe tube review videos 🤪…..or as one big UA-camr joked it’s 1+n, where n is the your current number of shoes.
Definitely need to stock up these days if you find a good shoe. I regret not getting more endorphin speed v1&2 as 3 is soooooo different. 4 seems half way between from what I’ve seen/Heard. 😢
@@TheWu from what I’ve read, if you stock up we need to start using them quickly as after a year or so after production, the new foams are not as efficient
@@PoetWithPace yea I heard that too. I’m not fast enough to realise the marginal gains or losses though haha. But i think I would get through them fast to be honest anyway. I picked up some new adidas pro 2 recently and already put 100km on 😅
It depends on the sales when the new models cover out. Can't resist when they become bargains.
We all love a bargain. 🙂

Yes, a very interesting perspective is taking the weather and the injury to fitness continuem. Thank you for that. 👍

Yes, the shoe collection creeps up on you. We also end up with lots of pairs that we say they'll be okay for a few miles...

A lesson we've learnt, hence now buying a couple of the same version once we know we like them a lot.

You're doing well, having bought just 1 pair this year. I guess most of your running is focused on marathons?

Edd Budd is your shoe tuber for shoes
Yes, we watch Edd Budd, but can be costly....🤣
Yes, Takumi are a narrow fit. I've had to loosen the laces for a better fit.
