seems the story plot of these trailers is same as the book titled "The long walk"..thus the book amazed me, perhaps the full movie too..? kinda good hearted uploader, please..?
I have the original from '56. Hardback. One of the BEST stories told. Shame he lied. I'd have wanted a film based purely on Rawicz's book, character for character, experience for experience, maybe best for audiences from the provenly non existent Camp 303 down to India. And with the two "abominables". What a scene there. Nicely done. That book was just an amazing read, though. Damned inspiring tale.
At the time they got to Tibet The Chinese still didn't commit to communism and in the movie he said the locals will take him down the mountains to American base/air field. You can also see something like this in the Michael Bay version of Peral Harbor, near the end in the Doolittle raid. the planes were meant to reach China after hitting Japan, and landing since they were still friendly to each other during WW2. "Mister" was saved when they reached Tibet he wanted to wait as the locals ordered for the winter and snow to stop and roads open. Yanush didn't want to wait the winter claiming they will collapse since they are strung out already, and when will winter will end they would not be in shape to resume walking even if they rested. and must keep going. the rest of them were not saved as the Americans wouldn't take 'em of course.
If they used fictional names for the film, they may as well have gone the whole hog and just copied Rawicz and Downing's book. Maybe the best person to play Smith WAS Harris. He's got that Dad and Uncle thing about him. I liked the scene at the border. I felt it mirrrored the scene in the book.
i learned from this movie to never give up.
J'ai appris de ce film à ne jamais abandonner.
"Give up"- sorry but we Poles we have no idea what's means...
Most dramatic final i love it in the end janusz ends his walking
All those generations, personal relationships and lives lost to communism.
A tragedy as great as the holocaust.
bullshit, holocaust was not as big suffering as labour on siberia camp for 20 years
They were warmly welcomed in India. I love my India being an Indian, technically!
it was British India at that time, technically. It was dissolved into 2 countries i.e Pakistan and India.

He died
@@freduncle9999 Actually there was only one Pole there - Janusz. Other two were Latvian and a Serb (Yugoslavian) I think.
@@lubomirahristeva7473 He didn't die, he escaped from China to a US Mission
