This is exactly the info I was in need of. THANK YOU. Ordered my press and dies from corbin today. They promised I would have them this year. Been reloading for 50 years and try everything at least once. Reloading rimfire is a hoot as is primer making. A shoutout to performance bullet coatings , their coating is an awesome addition to the cast bullet people. Keep these vids coming plz
+Ammosmith Reloading what do you think about using bigger shot, like a #2 or #3 shot or even BBs to make a core? and also how much does it cost to start swaging?(i mean as far as a press and the dies)
Awesome. I just started reloading and honestly your videos have helped me save lots of time money and frustration at the bench. How much are you thinking of charging for your ammo?
I noticed in the video that your first bullet is really smooth on the outside but the one next to it had holes up near the tip, is that on purpose ? I just started looking in bullet swaging yesterday and would appreciate any advice.
Yeah I'll take the #8 birdshot bullets. Have you looked into tracers yet? I thought it was to messy but it doesn't look all that bad compared to free 223 swaging.
Yes you can. Go to the Corbin web site. Just don’t get into it to save money because it will set you back a small fortune. I’m seriously considering the outlay because of lack of choice in the country where I live.
@InVinteR123 Dunno yet. we are still waiting for the BATFE to shuffle the paperwork on the FFL class 6 license. The glaser types are really tedious to make so I have to do some number crunching. We want them to be affordable so we can attract a large market.
@badjeep02 Tracers are fairly easy to make but local laws dictate if you can or not. I am looking at trying different core materials including ceramics.
@weaponeer We are going to try and get the 30 caliber, and 50 caliber dies. Imagine a 800gr 50 BMG bullet that is filled with lead shot compressed into a core as a hollow point. A giant Glaser.
My teacher in my ballistics class recommended all these videos. Very helpful for learning about swaging, really appreciate it!

Did you buy the metal inserts from Corbin? If you did, could you make a video if there isn’t one?

It's the nature of brass jackets. They have to be annealed and I didn't quite get them hot enough.
ew thats not what i expected. how are the plastic tips working do the perform as well as factory ballistic tips?
i was wondering about using a copper bb (like crosman copperheads) for making partitions ... have you tried this?
you make incredibly interesting, informative videos.
please continue.
@ammosmith Well then Sir how much do you intend to charge for 50rnd lots of some of your frangible/glaser style .224s?
on the point of weight limits, could you de-rim a .22 mag case and trim it to slighty larger length above .22LR?
Is it possible to swage a bigger bullet to a smaller one? Like from a 110 grain 30 carbine bullet to a 110 grain .224?
Jackets yes...entire bullets no. You can say size a 311' to a 308" or a 357 to a 355
knocking it out of the ball park my friend!!

If you can vacuum anneal or inert gas anneal you can eliminate the tarnish of your brass.
No..well if I make a wide hollow point it will jam but I make the point as fine as I can. They shoot MOA.
Can I make bullets with no brass jacket? It will be for airgun

Hello! Y shoot one .243 Win.
I can made bullets whith .22 mag cases?
Thanks!
I don't have the dies but yes they make them and are a popular setup

@FlyingBootable I don't know. I am trying different brass but using the same specifications to find out.
@gsho2915 Rumor. These are as soft as copper when annealed or softer.
Yup...I can't keep the bullet stable...it pops about 20m in front of the barrel.
Yes but not with this press..the dies are $2500 I use CH4D dies to make lighter 30caliber stuff.
@weaponeer Thanks! They are going to get better and better too!

@InVinteR123 We won't be selling loaded ammunition. we will be selling the projectiles as an end user component.
if you need help testing some of the heavier bullets ill be happy to help out:)
I need a special die to point them. The soft points fly fairly well..
Can u du any swaging on 30cal bullets?
Brasso works ok too
Yes it does. Just let the ammonia evaporate out of it first. Ammonia makes brass brittle.
who I can made head bolt
now make AP rounds.
Illegal unless I get a FFL for destructive devices...$6,000 a year license.
@@ammosmith ok .
