      Seriously these are people you dont even know. I dont understand why people got so offended. Was it because they said the child looked like her dad? He is not attractive. Never was. What's going on with his new look? They're many men who were braids or dreads and look good. He is not one of them.

    I absolutely love what Adrienne said at the end - I’m a dark skin girl (I’m the last shade of fenty beauty foundation) with pertinent black features and my mom constantly tells me I’m beautiful and how my skin tone is as rare as diamonds etc but that didn’t block out all the extremely hurtful comments people would make at my primary school - if I could have get my hands on bleach as kid I would’ve definitely bleach my skin - so parents teach your kids that beauty comes in all forms cause you don’t know how your child will affect others outside

    • @marissar.359
      @marissar.359 4 роки тому +28

      I also think it's important for parents to immerse their kids in communities that will also uplift their children. For example, putting them in schools where there is a decent black population and cultural competency is taken seriously. Two parents can only do so much and it takes a village to raise a child. The community has to invest in black children too.

      Autie Loni is also doing what black women love to do, which is beg for and seek white validation. Why should a white magazine put black people on it, and why are black women looking to white magazine covers in the first place? Makes no sense. One of my black friends gets a lot of criticism and low-key shade for being "so white". What they mean to say is, her English is impeccable and she doesn't do anything ratchet, nor entertain other people's drama. Despite that, haters gonna hate, whether your from the same race or not. It's difficult for an ethnic person to truly know whether the disrespect or hate they get is due to their skin colour (background) or simply because the person is jealous. (Not 100% accurate but I hope you understand my perspective that, in everyday situations, haters gonna hate. Someone who is loving and open minded will be just that and a hater, is gonna just hate.

They keep making fun of black women forgetting their own mother's are black women. Now tell me if that's not stupid. I personally don't give those guys the time of day, typically no offense they're bums anyways. Don't get me wrong I tell them this they respect me for it and but the real work has to come from in themselves some of them just don't want to listen because they have their own self hate and no good role model to look to. I’m going to take this positively and assume you just trying to help and educate by correcting me, and I honestly hope you haven’t read my positive well meaning comment and looked for the one fault or negative to try and slant it into me being racially or culturally ignorant or bigoted, because I am not and it’s not healthy for the world to eagerly look for people to say a bad thing when people are trying to say good things, if we all concentrated on things we agree on and had in common, then the things we all fight over would start to fade out.

    I'm a black southern African woman, and in my country most Mums grew up reshaping their children's noses to make them more pointed or less wider. I remember my mum telling me how she also did the same to my nose. The moment I became more aware of my blackness and how beautiful I am regardless of my despised features all around the world,her actions really upset me and I vowed never to attempt any "alterations" to my babies features. When I gave birth to my daughter last year,I had a relative tell me she had "reshaped" her baby's nose. I told her I wasn't going to do the same to my baby and I remember the look of amusement she had on her face looking at my baby like she wasn't beautiful.
    So here's the thing,as a parent, NEVER EVER get tired of protecting your babies regardless of whatever the society deems cool or beautiful or the perfect picture. As long as I see my kids as beautiful, what the rest of the world feels is irrelevant to me. How I feel about my babies,is how they'll feel about themselves when they're older.

    I love Adrienne's perspective on this...it's not always about black only...these lessons apply to every minority race!

    When my son turn 5 years old I sat him down and we talked about the beautiful things God has made. I showed him pictures of beautiful rainbows all around the world. We talked about the beautiful colors God made and how we see them every day. They I showed him a picture of many children of all colors and asked him what he saw. He pointed out the smile of this girl, the shirt of this boy and so on. Then I told him how God has a rainbow of color in people. We talked about something beautiful on each person. Its how you raise your kid to see the world and teach them better. I grew up with a grandparent who was racist and different ways but I knew what he was saying wasn't right because my mother taught me better and that I am not better then anyone.

    Actually biracial was praised in the black community because they had the good hair and complexion. They were always featured in music videos back in the day. NOW its getting better but it's still there!!!

      The flipside is that it also made them targets for negativity to a certain extent. It's like having a sibling who is the golden child and you are always the scapegoat. You might have resentment towards the golden child because of how badly you're treated.

      @@marissar.359 Since you're God I guess you know how I was treated but my point is in the BLACK COMMUNITY biracials were elevated. Now in the WHITE COMMUNITY that's a whooole other story. Side note: Besides not living under a rock my info comes from other biracials as well. Are there story not valid. One biracial that I LOVE is good ole' Mecheex she has a UA-cam channel. Check her out aaaand my personal friends who are biracial as well. Colorism is a real issue in the black community. Now we're embracing darker tones but trust in the BLACK COMMUNITY they were welcomed. ua-cam.com/video/a6di0rPVcmI/v-deo.html

      Every biracial person does not have the same experience. Where I come from people make fun of you for looking/acting too white so light skins and biracials weren’t elevated.
      Now the black community OVERALL uplifts biracials and lighter women but that doesn’t negate people’s individual experiences. There’s always an exception to the rule.

    I’m almost about to cry!!!
    I tell my kids how beautiful they are, and teach them that black, brown, white and everyone is beautiful. We are not black I have to encourage my children to be kind to everyone and see the beauty in every person.
    My son says he’s brown is 3 and I tell him he’s beautiful, and when we start talking about classmates he says their names and i know its a black child friend of my son I make sure I tell him she’s/he beautiful! Black is beautiful baby! And he agrees! I refuse for my kids mentality to be molded by someone that doesn’t see this.
