THE HARDEST THING I'VE EVER DONE | The Hawaii Spartan Sprint Obstacle Race
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 сер 2024
- Oh My Lord In Heaven! It’s finally here!! I feel like I’ve been talking about this Spartan Race for months now and I couldn’t be more thrilled and terrified all at the same time. I’m constantly telling people to push themselves. Just last week on Instagram I said this...
“Living life to its fullest takes courage. It takes pain and heartache and struggle. It is so easy to sit on the sidelines and be the victim of circumstance. Push people! Push out of your comfort zone. Push yourself through your doubts and your negativity. Push boldly with heart and soul and grit to a life filled with flowers that shines as bright as the sun.”
So this is me sowing what I preach, putting myself out there! This is me pushing as hard as I physically can in the moment.
I've trained for this, I’ve studied for this, and yet I’m still terrified. Isn’t that what bravery is? Feeling fear and doing it anyway?
I know that in the grand scheme of things that can be scary in life, a Spartan Race is not on the top of the list....but today, for me, in this moment, it is. So here we go!

I like her as an actress. Now I like her as a person after this.
Well said. Entertaining, honest presentation about what it is like to push yourself in a physical event.
I watched this video about 10 months ago, and completed my first Spartan Sprint this past weekend (San Antonio). I meandered across the finish line dead last in my age group, but I FINISHED. 👏 You inspired me all those months ago and it finally came to fruition. I couldn't be more sore nor more proud. Thank you 🤗
OMG I’m so freaking proud of you and excited for you!! Wasn’t it it’s the most awful and exhilarating thing to finish!? You finished!! You set out to do something and you did it! So damn cool! ❤️❤️❤️
@@KateeSackhoffOfficial show us yer hairy beaver on camera!
It's so nice to see a great actress being herself instead of what the rest of holy-hell land is doing. Thanks. Love your work.
Amen to that, shes just like the rest of us.
@@edwardporter5905 The rest of us... that could actually run in a Spartan Race without dying? ;)
@@troyjollimore4100 im talking about her personality she not all nose stuck up in the air. Have you seen any of her other videos.
@@edwardporter5905 Bruce Springsteen is the same way. i've met him. after about 15 seconds, you forget he's famous.
I kind of love the moment when the other racer asked where Katee was from and she just said "I have one of those faces". The humility of someone who has been a constant presence in our homes for nearly two decades.
"We couldn't afford Eye of the Tiger"
you win the gold in comedy timing..
It was a cool music choice. Title is?
Ha ha! Yes!
The smile when she realized she got 2nd.
"You remind me of someone, but I don't know who"
"Ah, I have one of those faces"
Lol, you are awesome! Congrats on your race, tremendous effort and an unbelievable result.
I almost peed when you said 'I just have one of those faces'
is that me, or this lady have a kind of french accent oO
she was too embarrassed to say ya im from that terrible Sci-fi series on netflix that should be taken off
@@premix3663 She's also from some good sci-fi, like battlestar galactica, and riddick, not to mention other well received shows like longmire. And lets be fair, the bad writing and storyline on 'another life' is hardly her fault.
While everyone hates another life theres few of us here loves that series and waiting for season 2
This was incredible to watch.
Hail Babyface
Ha, nice to see you here too. The Algorithm gets us all... and I agree, that was great to watch.
@@Serkesh80 Should Nerdrotic be tagged😁
This is the way :)
All Hail the FaceofBaby!
Ms. Sackhoff, that was truly gripping: a roller coaster of ups and downs with a storybook ending. You openness with us as an audience is astounding--and deeply compelling. The missed spear toss could have been easily omitted, but it mattered to you. It mattered to us. The emotional richness of your life comes through so clearly. As it does in your acting. Your UA-cam channel is reality tv as it was meant to be.
Thanks for watching
@@KateeSackhoffOfficial You accomplishing this is was incredible to witness, thanks so much for bringing us along for the journey, youre such a genuine and wonderful person, you're truly an inspiration! And yes you are clearly every bit as badass as "Starbuck"
Wow, so much for the pampered actress stereotype, you're a bona-fide badass!! Much respect. You actually are as tough as the characters you play on screen.
Great fans. Did not realize that you are as fit as you are. Liked you best in Longmire, the character being as genuine as you seem to be. You and Robert Tayler were perfect in the roles, although He in person seems more like the character in the book than in the series.
Something about this woman just makes people light up, such a warm and fun spirit just watching her smile makes you smile. Great job! A true warrior!
She has that contagious smile!
It took 5 years to get myself out of a wheelchair after I was told I'd never walk again. You are the embodiment of the spirit I had to have to do that. Never give up and always push yourself that extra bit every time at every thing. Be proud of who you are and share you intestinal fortitude with other. Take care.
Right there with you! I shouldn't be able to walk but I refused to accept that. One more rep, one more breath, one more push every single day. Not easy, and every damn day wanting to give up, to not do the hours of physio, to let the pain win but even if I achieve nothing else in life, I was told I'd be in a wheelchair, and yet I can walk. Just gotta keep pushing through
Salute.
God bless both you and her.
'compare yourself to yourself', right on the nail. I could feel the effort and determination. Congratulations Katee
Robin is amazing, he does his own race then films you afterwards, what a star.
You did ok too 😁
Alan Brown Totally agree, so sweet how Robin compliments her before the race to raise the spirit. Lovely guy. - And @Katee Sackhoff you inspired me to work out like you at least for a month...so let’s see how that goes ;) ♡ from Germany!
Hear hear...
next time she should run the course filming his race then do her own haha
Speaking as a chronic asthmatic, that was inspiring.
"I have one of those faces." Hahahahaha, I was wondering if someone was going to recognize you.
You mean beautiful 👍
I had to laugh at that..because I was pretty sure that the other girl KNEW she was an actress..even if she couldn't pin what in at the moment.. But also cause I am NOT an actor or anyone popular, and I still have to say that all time. No matter where I go, people look at me like they've seen me somewhere before..
"we couldnt afford 'eye of the tiger'" mood
"Out FRACKING Standing" !!!!!!!
Congrats !
As a military and 2 time Spartan veteran, the realest statement I heard you say was "this is the hardest thing I've done in my life." I felt every bit of that statement lol. Watching this makes me want to train for another Spartan race.
SO PROUD OF YOU!!! This is amazing, and so are you. You not only have the strength of Starbuck but you have her heart, Katee. :)
That's so nice of you to say!! Thanks Cindy ❤️
After 32 years as a Marine, You showed you are not only a reel warrior but a real warrior.
I am so proud of you!
Well played, very well played.
Katee Sackhoff is a Spartan Race winner
She's a winner no matter what in my book
Being a total badass, yeah!
It said 2nd....of 2. And 7th of 7...
Why would anyone downvote this video?
Got a tear in my eye when I saw the Spartan helmet on the medal. Bo-Katan in training.
I was dying to hear a "MAKE A HOLE!" during the runs.
Sounds like you served in the Navy.
Hell of a thing to watch. It's amazing to see someone go from playing characters with determination all the way through to achieving something real and difficult that most of us would just balk at. Congratulations.
Proud of you Katee. Thank you for having the race filmed. My boys cheered when you said you got your period, so there’s that. 😀
Tony Schacherbauer 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏻🤦🏼♀️
I know this is old but I felt compelled to comment. You said, ‘this is the hardest thing you’ve ever done.” I run half marathons and I know that feeling when I set a PR in a race I really wanted. So proud of you Katie. Keep it up!!!
This video made me smile in so many ways! Especially when you saw you got second! Congratulations again 😁
I love making people smile!! Thank you so much!!
One of my favorite videos! I love her competitive spirit and this race was most inspiring. Katee’s parents did a wonderful job in raising her to be such strong, independent and respectful woman. All said, her unassuming personality is what separates her apart, IMHO.
Thank you for watching 💛👍🏻
Thank you, Katee! I watched this with my five year old daughter. One of my life goals is to raise my daughter to be a strong and fierce warrior woman like you.
Your videos inspired me to sign up for the Spartan Race, got 11 days to go! Helped me focus on something else after a break up
Love that!! Have fun and stay safe. Aroo Aroo Aroo
@@KateeSackhoffOfficial Smashed it 💪 thanks for your motivation Katee, it got me through it. You're an absolute legend
You did awesome, you are now an official action hero. Way to go lady spartan
I could never do a Spartan Race, but I did complete the USAF BMT confidence course twice, and the US Army confidence course at Ft. Dix once, at 18 & 19 during Military training 30+ years ago.
So good for you Katee, for completing your race.
Omg I wish you could see this. You are doing your pre race run, bouncing along and talking. My 9 month old grandbaby who was going to sleep, jumps up smiling and is bouncing along with you. So sweet. Clearly sending you moral support.
I trained with this video. I had no idea who you were. I just loved your spartan content. And then! You showed up in the mandalorian! You should come back for the 2023 spartan and own it again.
Thank you for filming the whole thing and for being inspiring and-most of all-so real with us. Love this series and waiting for Season 2!
When I did my first bike race (only 28 miles, but mostly on dirt roads and starting at 6400 feet above sea level...but I lived at 5600...in Colorado, so it wasn't a huge difference...but enough), I told my 35-year old self my goal was just to start. Then I just kept making promises to myself...make it to the top of this climb, make it to the rest stop, etc. Because either way, I was accomplishing something and pushing myself. That first year it took me over 5 hours (the hills are too much!). Then at 44 I rode it again. And I gave up a little over half way (that feeling of I'm going to vomit and cry at the same time). I was in a bad place emotionally so the following year I mostly rode every day but just worked myself into a nice calm place about it. It was supposed to be fun. I finished it in 4.5 hours and felt really good about it in the end! I'm almost 52 and will be biking across Scotland in the next two years. My goal: make it there and start the ride. If I don't do any more than that, well at least I'll have a nice trip to Scotland!
"Where's my stunt double" ☠
19:09 the mutual fan girling was beautiful. I’ve never seen such a balanced exchange of appreciation. Yawl both bass ass beez.
Very good! And this was the 3 mile, the 30 mile must be INSANE!
wtf.. this x10 ?
Katee is more badass than Starbuck! Frakin' amazing!
I dealt with my own version of a Spartan after I had major surgery and had to learn to walk again but I did I pushed through the massive pain and did it! I love that you talked about people having their own personal Spartan’s to conquer and we/they can do it.
So amazing and you're so funny, even when sweaty 😅 I'm addict with your channel, that's it 😁
Have to agree, Katee is so entertaining even when she is just talking (her sidetracked is a bonus in that regard).
There are worse things to be addicted too 😃 thanks for watching!! New episodes will be coming in the spring
@@KateeSackhoffOfficial In the Spring? What?
@@KateeSackhoffOfficial I hope you, Robin, his family, your family, the Longmire, Flash, and Another Life cast have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!
Second place...your first time out...that's awesome Katee! I think you can say that you've lived up to the tough roles you play as an actress! You are an inspiration to anyone looking to better themselves...challenge themselves. Thanks for sharing your experience...pain...triumph...and humor! Your an awesome young lady Katee Sackhoff...Cheers!
"what do ya' hear, starbuck?"... ..."nothin' but the burpees." LOLOLOLOL
Thanks for being a huge inspiration to my daughter, and girls everywhere!
I did the Tough Mudder with my daughter this past summer and after watching this, Katie, you’ve inspired me to do the Spartan next summer. Great job, Katie!
Katee, that was one incredible run. Congratulations on 2nd place in what looked like a grueling and difficult race. Great job.
"Whadya feel Starbuck" 'nothin but the Pain!' Congrats girl your an inspiration.
This is but ONE of the reasons I am screaming that you are the real Captain Marvel. Katee, we have to get you into that Universe!! Petition, anyone?
Battlestar Galactica is the only thing I had seen you in before yesterday when one of you youtube videos was recommended. I wasn't a fan of the show but with a video titled "I got drunk for science" I watched the video and the next and then the next. Keep doing them your amazingly entertaining!!!
Thank you for tuning in!! I'll be putting out another season of episodes in the spring 😊
The Riddick movie was good too.
If you have Netflix, check out her show called Another Life. It's so good. It's like a sci-fi, mystery action thriller. I really hope they make a season 2!
She was great in Longmire too. Totally different character. 10 minutes in I didn't feel like I was watching Star Buck in a deputy costume. I was watching Vic.
That's always a sign of an good actor.
Look at Longmire. Ranks up with Lonesome Dove as western drama. Great acting by the whole cast,
I did the Trifecta in a calendar year and it was the hardest most exhilarating thing anyone could ever do and I commend you for pushing yourself and working so hard to finish the race. So happy when you got 2nd place and it was a well deserved medal. Congrats!!!
Amazing Simply Amazing. I honestly I'm going to try to take your advice I am a veteran of the Canadian military and suffer from severe depressive disorder. I take each day and time. I respected you before but honestly I respect you even more
So amazing. So funny. So wonderfully normal. Thanks so much for this!
All I can say is “damn!” I don’t care who you are, that is tough. Pug owners never give up........
Wow. I hurt all over just watching this. What a great down to earth person you are.
Awesome T-shirt, mad respect. Well done you two! Luv the "Eye of the Tiger" bit.
My Heroine, just total awesomeness, you have done something that 97% of us folk may never do, well....never say never. Katee thank you for your inspiration and sharing. This Guy from the Caribbean, just ( Liked & Subscribed ) kudos to your cameraman and your boyfriend for the support.
I don’t even know you...why did I feel emotional when you crossed the line😂. Nice job
Saaaaame!!
I like your comment even though you’re in pain, you know you have more to do, you get it in your head that saying that says don’t quit. There are so many people out there, and all walks of life, military, veterans people who do CrossFit, the spartan race and every day life. And they get that saying in their head don’t quit you can do more, keep going, don’t stop. Thank you Katie!!!
Go Katie go!! Holy shit you are a badass!! I still remember the first time I saw you in Battlestar Galactica and have enjoyed other projects you've been in as well. This was such a treat. Inspirational. Congratulations on finishing the race and getting second!!
Totally awesome. Bo Katan would be in awe of Katee Sackhoff.
You should be insanely proud of yourself. That was very impressive.
Thank you! Through four surgeries life change. One foot in front of the other! Blessings Katie!
Even the person who finished last, finished.
Update YES! I got a heart!
2nd place!!! That's awesome!! I was exhausted just watching! You are a beast!! 💪💪
Katee I had surgery yesterday (3rd this year) which is really messing with my fitness. Feeling really down so I watched this again. Love what you say at the end. Anyhoo, you helped me feel a bit better. Thanks.
Take care and make sure to move at your own pace. Your body has memory so you’ll be able to pull yourself back to your fitness goals when the time is right. 👍🏻
As a person with asthma myself I know how it can stop you flat. You're awesome for pushing through it as well as the pain and fatigue, to complete your race. The fact that you placed is secondary, finishing is the win. You're only in competition with yourself. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙋GO KATEE!!!! Inspiration for life and fitness!!!!! I am so inspired.😁 I am on a health journey in 2020 and ever since I found your channel I have made HUGE gains in what I am accomplishing!!! Thank you so much
You are amazing. I see now why you can deliver such a badass mandalorian. You are a real warrior. Keep the good work going!
Yep, inspired once more to “do something that scares you”. Enjoyed it as usual. You did amazing!
AMAZING!!! You are such an inspiration!!! Way to go gurl!!
For being such a badass, you're actually quite adorable. And, thanks for including your camera guy. Camera people are incredible.
I did a few Spartan runs during my 30's and then tried again years later in my 40's and it did not go well. LoL. Now just watching it in my 50's is getting me tired. Good job Ms. Sackoff.
One of my favourites in Longmire, but damn it Vic, I'm a fan of you as a person.
🙋I could not agree more.
I enjoyed Longmire quite a bit. Now my husband is watching it and loving it. She is an amazing person.
Ooooh, PAIN, BURN, builds character makes you know your alive! Good job. 👍💪
Holy shit, that was really inspiring. I'll call it Covid Netflix viewing that led me to Longmire, which I have now binged all of in the last two weeks. Some of those scenes, yoou had me in tears. It was nice to shed some happier ones watching this. Congratulations. I look forward to viewing more of my new You Tube Channel subscription. .
more than anything, you proved to yourself that you could not only get through it, but you could thrive doing it.well done .now I am a fan of your strength and your humor-love your cheeky humor.
:14 "Will you taste glory on this day?"... the camera pans up to a little cheek shot. 🤣lol. Anyway, good ,back breaking, hard work. 👏🏽awesome.
OMG! That looked Brutal! You don't have any Quit in you. Amazing! Thank you for the Great video. 🙂
16:16 - The Bags, no one else is doing what Katee was doing to complete the task but before she left, they were alllll doing it lol.
Yasss queen 👑👑👑 This so hard to do and I appreciate how much you've shown on your channel from training to now.
Been watching your acting for ages and loved your character on the flash .
Love seeing you killing it pre-corona
that was awesome Katee, well done!
Katee - long time Coach, LD runner, Aussie Surf Lifesaver and iron man . Well done on the Spartan. 7th overall you BEAST. Your run posture observations: Your arms when you walk are perfectly relaxed. when you run you "brace" across the shoulders you have to "NOT" do that (even at race end when your low on energy you are hunching your shoulders up taking a lot of extra energy). if you want to address this I suggest you run with your arms down at your side like noodles and start at a very low cadence and zero body lean. As you pick up your cadence and upper body lean, keep your arms like noodles eventually let you arms naturally come into a run swing yet keep your noodle arms. Hopefully the noodle arm practice will help your avoid the "hunching" or "Bracing" across the shoulder girdle. Stop pushing your beastbone out while you run - it's natural to you personally and is part of the "braced" position you adopt. You should feel like you naturally want to transition to a running arm swing but keep the shoulders in a natural hang noodle arms (the lest tension to get the job done). I hope all of that helps your run style become more efficient and allows you to put your energy into speed and endurance as well as reducing injuries. FYI - often that upper "dorsum" foot pain can come from over lasing ie. too much pressure in the lacing process. I suggest a pair of Luna Sandals (the base OG ones) to run with which will help with your forefoot transition and incline you away from heel striking and into a more natural fore foot placement. I also recommended the Merrell trail glove if the Lunas are too too minimal for you. All the very best. Love your work.
So I wasn’t crazy when I saw you! Lol Figured I was just wishing it was. Anyways great job on your run you kicked ass. Hope to see you at future races! 🤙🏽
Xena Warrior Princess ... Eat your heart out! There's a new Sheriff in town! (Way to go, Katee. REALLY impressive)
21:38 that right there is it, baby.
That´s it. "Now do *one* (1) more."
That in my head has got me through so much shit. Physical and other. "Now do one more." That is it. That is all.
Katee you are more Captain Marvel as you think. You are Captain Marvel and Captain America together. You blew me away as Starbuck and now this. You are the real deal and a dream !!!
The spear throw 😂🤣 .. i literally spit up my soda !! You crack me up.
The cord seemed to ruin a perfectly good throw. Those details will get ya. Katee handled it with such humor and class.
Wow!!!! Congratulations!!! This is so amazing!! All that hard work paid off!! You rock!!
SPARTAN: "With your shield, or on it."
Katie: "Hold my beer."
Well, I'm going to say. You are looking awesome. It's the hard work that develops sculpture our bodies.
WELL done Ms. Sackoff, WELL done.
Mad props to you, Katie, for not only doing the burpees, but actually doing all 30 with proper technique. I've run many Spartans and the number of people who skip the penalty burpees or only do a fraction of them is astounding. Having the red headband maybe meant you had to do them, but I still think it speaks of your character and I definitely think even more highly of you for it. Great job 💪
That was so inspiring ! And to see you actually get second was just so amazing !
Thank you 🙏🏻
Katee!!! AWESOME JOB!!!! You are the true action film star!! Love your work.

Kudos for finnishing this race, that seems quite an achievement. And kudos to your camera man for keeping up with you, carrying his gear :)
AND after completing his own, longer, Race before hers.
Very inspiring, very funny, very likeable person. A huge fan from Hungary.
You didn't need the song. You were the Eye of the Tiger that day. Damn impressive. And quite the place to be impressive in.
First I just found your channel and I’m so stoked for it! I’ve been a fan since Battlestar. I love how normal and down to earth you seem.
