Saga Frontier II - Egg Battle (Last Boss, toughest form) Part 2/2

- This is second half of the battle against the last boss, Egg, in Saga Frontier II at the Last Megalith, from the part where its stone anima form is established.
Characters involved are Ginny Knights, Wil Knights, Gustaf & Primiera.
This is supposedly its toughest form that i could find, because I can't find any way to skip the water lord battle... I've skipped all the other anime lords. If anyone knows how, please PM me, I'll rebattle it again!
This guy kept spamming Ancient Curse in its stone form, which caused quite a bit of ruckus, as there is only 1 equipment that protects against petrification (if you do not defeat the stone lord). This is the Blackstone Armor, which I'd equipped on Primiera, since she had the highest HP. Everyone kept getting petrified, and I had to rely on a bit of luck recovering everyone back to normal.
Even though I trained Wil's sword level to 41, I find that having him use Incineration was more important to contribute to the Gale Strike All-Out Attack.
There are better ways to grind, but I was too lazy to grind Gustaf's flame level...
Unfortunately, a solo battle is legitly impossible, because even if you remove all members from the main party, the battle will still include the first few members in your reserve party to make it up to 4 members...
Oh well, Mission accomplished! :)
With the Gale Strike all out combo, and the best equipment I had, the best damage they could dish was around 24~26k damage. Each of the egg's anima form was annihilated in 1 round, except for the fire form which had more than 30k HP. And soon, victory was granted!
Tip:
~ Plan an ALL-OUT combo (combo of 4 attacks) that is convenient for you to prepare, and grind your characters for the respective arts levels. Try to get the best possible equipment needed for the combo as well at the same time. That INCLUDES any anima weapon or armour required!
~ Make sure that you customise your battle style, by dictating the order of action to increase success rate of the combo. I focused on "Gale strike + Incineration + Multi-Way + Flash Trinity", which was casted by Ginny, Wil, Gustaf & Primiera respectively, so similarly, the order of action would be 1st for Ginny, 2nd for Wil, 3rd for Gustaf & 4th for Primiera. Even though Flash Trinity is much weaker than the best Axe art, the All-Out combo far outweighed the solo damages.
I never even have any PS consoles nor did I have Internet back then, tats y im playing on an emulator so recently. Can't wait to see your saga series video, i really loved the romancing saga 2 and 3 series :D
I remember that game was a failure to me as a lover or RPG. One of the main character died mid-game, not a sidekick, no, the protagonist, never seen that before.
Then, that last battle which I never done, passed to a friend, had him and is big brothers trying as well and none where able to go trought final boss.
That "permanent HP" was the most shittiest thing to happen in a video game, extremely cheap.
I just gave them the game afterward thinking it was broken anyway, haha.
Aedollon M. I actually failed my 1st run through. Really need to strategize what skill set you want to specialize right from the start.
Dude, I played it long LONG time ago on the original PSX! My GOD, I didn't even have real broadband internet back then! I remember printing out the spell combinations one time and then trying to use them, it was a MESS! But hey, I beat the egg fair and square... but there's so many videos that I doubt there's a need for me to record it. I did record the hell out of Romancing Saga for the PS2... man, I wonder when I'll be able to finally produce that big Saga series retrospective video...
I hate it when they spike up the difficulty all of a sudden -_-
Yea, the final cave was quite a drastic jump in difficulty!
I realize this video is 11 years old now, but...
What's with the janky sound effects? Is that ePXSe emulating sound wrong?
I guess it was because I was using an old computer that kinda struggled to support ePXSe, on top of an additional screen recording app at the same time
You used cheat codes did you? I grinded the hell out of my party and I never got pass 600 HP!
Would you like me to inform you once it'd be finished? In the.... very distant future? I just warn you, it'd primarily would focus on SF2 and the games that came after it.
turbo boost :) r u playing on an emulator or the ps itself?
haha sure just drop me a note. :)
