I happen to enjoy A Declaration of Sound quite a bit, but this just works on a different level. Incredible...
This is one of the best songs I've ever heard. Like in music...in general. I just had to sit in stunned silence after it finished. The amount of talent and effort, pure compositional skill, the way it evolves and changes, the way it builds and builds to a grand climax. I'm shook. The way all of the difficult parts fit together perfectly like a puzzle and brought their own unique contribution to the overall sound. The way the vocals glue together all of these interesting, interchanging musical parts and invoke the overall emotion of the song. The massive harmonies with huge, huge reverb as the song builds. The mixing/mastering sounds like it's many steps above the last album, as well. I felt like every part had the perfect amount of space and presence.
I have that feeling like I just saw a UFO and I have nobody to tell. I'm just looking around like "holy shit. this just happened." Like I genuinely believe this is a masterpiece. I don't want to use cliche words like that, and people can think whatever they want of this genre, but I truly believe this is one of the best songs I've ever heard and it's truly outstanding in every way. There's no way the band didn't feel that way themselves when they listened to the final cut for the first time. They have to know this is really, really special.

The muted piano and triangle quiet part at 3:10 is insane. It's also insane that this song is 9 minutes long and it feels like 3.

It's so many things at once and yet one can feel the cohesion somehow, like the chaos is "aimed" somewhere. Coma took 50 listens to understand, this one probably 100+ lol
2:26 is my favorite part of the whole thing. That is SO tasteful and sounded different for you guys! I'd love to see some more "guitar duet" songs where you're primarily playing harmony or counterpoint. You're so good at it! One of my favorite songs anyways.

I have been blasting this non-stop. You guys are just incredible. Everyone of you are just amazing musicians. Adam's vocals and lyrics are powerful. Jame's drum fills just hit so damn hard. Sam & Eric's riffs are smooth and technical. Richard's piano playing is so elegant, and Werner is the best bass player ever. So much groove. All these incredible talents put together make a masterpiece of music and are the greatest band ever! I'm so excited for the new album.
