The second I heard that intro riff I was like "YO, that's a Mark riff!" and that whole song in general feels so much like Mark. He has such a unique style that you can't mistake for someone else.
I actually said something like this to my wife. It’s one thing to have a style that people instantly recognize as a singer. People have very unique voices! But the fact that there are three guitarists in this band and you can clearly tell which one of them wrote which solo is beyond insane. How do you create such a unique voice for yourself using the same notes that’s available to everyone else. Nothing but genuine talent and artistry in this group.
The chill part and the melodic ending are like straight Bulb stuff. Idk, everybody complements each other so well on the band. We would be surprised to see who made who. That beggining and verse riff are SO Mark, though. Anyway for you to feel that deep connection with music is beautiful.
Listening to this instrumentally takes me emotionally to a time 14/15 years ago where I'd be on MySpace fiending whatever new Perphery / HS / OMNOM / Chimp Spanner songs were about and now I'm here, hearing this high quality production, crazier riffs, killer song structures and realising how privileged I am to be alive in this time hearing this music. I'm inspired and proud of what you're all achieving.
Came here to comment on just that. Actually he adds 2 harmonics though, which is even better. He does a higher-pitched one first, and then a lower-pitched, but slightly more noticeable one just 2 notes later. Chef’s kiss on what was already the best solo of their entire catalogue.
This song hit me in the feels when i first heard it, as i was going through a rough time. Its the most moving piece you've done since Its only smiles. Thanks boys
Honestly, I consider Periphery a "Super Group", each member truly brings something integral to the whole picture and are individually some of the best in the scene. 99% of us when we first heard that opening riff were like "ok, this is a Mark song" his sound is just so iconic at this point. I hope he takes pride in knowing this was probably the most well received song off of the album!
I can’t believe I’m crying over a guitar playthrough.. Mark will forever be my favorite guitarist 😌 I just have to mention how this is also one of my favorite performances from Spencer. @@Ignore14 He has several USA PRS guitars but he actually does use the SE on stage too. He's got about a zillion guitars for the different tunings but he has an SE or 2 in the lineup as far as I know. Pretty sure I watched him play one live a couple weeks ago
@@securitylizard Absolutely. From what I've seen, he has a wide range of guitars, including the American version. But the SE one is one of his main guitars.

That this song is in such an insane tuning, and Mark was like, "yeah, I'm gonna slay it" and then proceeded to do just that...just shows how much of a melody machine he is.
Every Mark centric song is easily my favorite, it works because he's part of Periphery as whole, but his sections are always what hook me on a song. This is probably my favorite one on the album, thanks for showing this!
Every single member of this band is amazing at their own right but there is something about Mark's ability to come up with these amazingly melodic and heavy riffs that cut really deep.
