"Officers are not in the habit of giving tickets for nothing"
*Half of Montreal pulls a muscle laughing
^^^ This. Half of Canada, who's been to Montreal.
And most of the world!
We're not in the habit of giving out tickets for nothing. YEAH, RIGHT!
@Lifeisarock66
That's for sure. I've heard of "policing for profit" but this is ridiculous! Canada must be hard-up for cash or it's a really up-tight country. Silly! I'd definitely fight it and when he goes before tbe judge, sing him the song, I only hope he can sing well but it doesnt sound like he can. Maybe, just skip the singing and go straight to begging for mercy.
This is why people find it easy to dislike cops, a lot!
I guarantee that he was singing at the very top of his lungs when he got the ticket.
Jeffrey Kohut so what?
That's why the silent majority dislikes you, unstable ass.
@@JeffreyJetsKohut so what, didn’t know I needed permission to sing. Sad we can’t all be as perfect as you.
@@adambarnes1952 F/O
Singing in car $150 fine. Running a red light (2:10) That's okay, just keep in singing :)
Great observation lmao 😂
This is ridiculous
It's Canada and Canada is not a free country. They have a silly Charter of Rights that has a 'not withstanding clause' which makes the whole thing null and void whenever it suits the government. So they only have conditional privileges, not actual rights.
i hope he doesn't sing in the shower, for his own good.
@zoey taylor
You think!? What's up with Canada, are they that hard-up for cash or what!? I've never heard of such nonesense, there's got to be more to the story? I'd be pissed off if a cop gave me a ticket for that, I'd probable laugh in his face too.
@@meganwinkler5602
That's terrible! What kind of democracy is that? Oh, I forgot, it's Canada. Canada's a stranger country, no offense.
@@cher280z it really is
Even if he was just straight up screaming in his own car, show me the law that says a cop can give you a ticket for that.
Yeah distracted driving or something?
He got a ticket for being off Key. LOL
Jonas Ben off key? Please elaborate.
Elvis Tong I think he means bad singing
@jb toy's
Most definitely! They probably hate the song too. I know I do.
in the tower of music
The problem is that the police departments since about 2000 attract and look for psychopaths to be recruited into the police forces.
This is a prime example of where this country is heading, it's not looking good folks
NDT Traff And now Canada is going to make it legal for a man to get his junk waxed at women’s only spas. I am old enough to remember when your country was great
Soon.... we gonna wish we lived in siberia !
Don’t ever deal with the police without video taping the entire conversation
True north strong and FREE. this is not what this country was founded on. 🇨🇦
What about those Canada nice ads?
degenerate pagan nation, I detest Canadians
Bigotry is what the nation was founded on. Bigotry and dishonesty.
Everyone sings in their car, what a joke it means there happy. If I took off work early and dropped the kids off and had a few hour that were mine I'd song to.The cops should go and have a donut.
They probably already had a donut and just experiencing sugar rush, that's why they were in that mood. Lol.
The REAL reason for the ticket...."he was enjoying the day".
Similar situation in America an African-American woman bopping to car music at a stop had her car taken away for not having both hands on the wheel and then was arrested and taken in for psychiatric evaluation.
Abuse of power should be a crime 🤨
The judges almost always side with the police, why do you think these petty tickets are so common?
It was a violation of copyrights.
i lolled
Violation of copyrights, huh? Well let's hope that Martha Wash got paid what she is due first.
If he would have sung it in French it would have been okay! Language laws must be observed. Bonjour, Hi.
“tout le monde, danse maintenant”
“I was zinging, i was zinging everybody dance now”
I love this song. One of the best nineties song.
George Orwell's "1984."
"Everything you think do and say is in the pill you took today."
"Fahrenheit 451"
"Logan's Run"
Thank God for the government! Gee whiz Wally
If I were the judge, all four cops would have to sign over a day's wage to this guy to pay for his missed work while in court.
We all laugh at this but there are far more serious undertones here,,,it's just another case of abuse of power,,,it's funny heh,,cause it wasn't you or your child being harrased by law enforcement, ,,I think,,rather I know there are far better things to do or people to arrest or investagate, ,is there not?????,,this is a shame ,,,and shame on the police for such a rediculas reaction to to a law abiding citizen
That is so sad when they have to stoop that low everyone sings in their car .
My wife was also pulled over in Toronto and told the was going to be given a ticket for using the phone. That is till she said she was not using the phone (which wasn't even in the car). The cop said he saw her using her phone until she said she was singing to the music. He said she was talking on the phone for a while..." I was singing and knew the song" was her answer. He asked if he could search her purse and she said she could do better than that and emptied her purse on the seat and no phone was found.
Just goes to prove that cops make guesses even when presented with hard evidence, she was not ticketed.
Reminds me of when I got detained for shoplifting at sears because I took a selfie in the pillar mirror (and the put my phone back in my bag)… they didn’t find anything on me (because I didn’t shoplift), they saw the photo, and still called the cops and I got lectured about not shoplifting… wtf…
Shld.Be zero tolerance for This.,Cop fired, any politician defending this,Also Fired..
Hey to the cop who gave him the ticket get real just becouse you had a bad day you don't need to do dumb crap like that gee
This is one of my favorite songs, I would have been singing and semi dancing in my car, music blasting.
Christine Adams do you believe, for we Asians, the real Western music is classical music origined Europe ( for example, Mozart ) , the song like this, everybody dances, not real Western music ?
Please don't, they might lock you up 😃
The spokesman for the Montreal police department said he doesn't have enough information. I can give him the information he needs. The driver was an Arabic speaker, and the police were Quebecois.
What does tis have to do with anything ?
@@emilefrenette9325 Tell Me You KNow Nothing About Quebec Policing Without Admitting You Know Nothing About Quebec Policing
@@atomeyes99 I actualy know a fair bit about common police behaviours in Québec generally & in Montréal particularly where i live. My question is genuine it was not some trick or signalling game.
ridiculous
I must have gotten away with over 10,000 singing violations. :)
Is there anything left that we can do without being arrested for it? If screaming is so illegal, when are the cops going to start handing out tickets to children who shriek and scream in public on a constant basis? If it's okay for kids, it should be okay for adults.
Don't compare kids to adults. Different laws apply.
@@tobyt9807still humans. And still not a crime (even if it legally is, it’s not…) either way for anyone.
It's a law not to sing what law is that again looks like scare TATICS for the puplic to be full of fear
gregory frie Do you think his singing could be audible to the COPs driving patrolling ?? The COPs just saw the movement of his mouth without even hearing any voice.
Yay more Quebec issues ! Never stops with that province...
All because of Anglo trash hicks like you
Yeah, cause we got more than 2 families living in Quebec... I'd be jealous too if I had to live anywhere else in Canada 🤣😂
This is not a québécois issue.
there is another word for it, REVENUE RAISING, get a car cam that records sound in your car and record the police while you are talking to them
Revenue generation working as intended...
With all the road rage, accidents, drunk driving, speeding, etc. etc. that is out on the city streets and highways, the cops should be HAPPY to hear someone singing in his car!!! Those cops need to pay the $150 fine themselves and then be fired from the police force! 😡😡😡
If you wanna fart in your car....do it! Or if feeling brave, fart in a police car! A ticket for singing IN you car, slow day for the cops.
He is a non-black person singing a song originally sung by a black person. That is racially insensitive. If he can't sing to songs originally sung by members of his own race, he doesn't need to have a radio at all.
Bro Doodman, it was a joke. But I understand your comment. Liberals are so mentally ill that the comment I had made in jest is actually a reasonable thought to a liberal. Liberalism is a mental illness.
Bro Doodman What if he ever lived in eastern countries like China, Japan , and learned the songs in those languages and sang in his car ?
Screaming in a public place is a fine? That is crazy
And he wasn’t screaming, he was singing along to his fav song…
Crazy police
Outrageous
Police these days
Take those cops to court...they can't get away with that
Why ? They get away with murder & laying hands on lawyers. Why would revenue collection, that benefit their employers, give them trouble ?
So these 4 cops, all came to the consensus that this guy was singing too loud, in his own car, in montreal around suppertime rush hour....it feels like this story is missing a few elements
So now if we sing oh Canada out loud we may be subject to a ticket !!!
They should be protecting the children in canada not giving tickets . that is crazy!!!
They profit off harming others especially children and homeless and drug addicts… if protecting them made them more money and power they would
Let it go, leave him alone.
It's the Quotas all cops need to fill those .
wow, did you come up with that all by your sorry self?
whats the time of the infraction ticket,if its between 11pm and 7am,then the ticket is jutified,if its between7am and 11pm,we are headed toward comunism.
Thats so so not cool....a ticket for singing in public,,next it will be a ticket for crying in public or dancing??
Ridiculous abuse of power.
Wow. Hey, let's all go sing with this nice man! God bless America. We have problems, but wow!
I sing at the top of my lungs in the car!
COPs just saw the movement of his mouth ( so the COPs asked if he screamed instead of saying " don't sing in the car " ) without even hearing any voice of singing.
So if you scream for help in a public place you get a ticket too? Sounds like a cop with nothing better to do
I guess it wasn't being sung in French
That likely doesn't have much to do with anything, here.
I once 'had' to drive through Quebec, did seriously consider going through Maine. Took the wrong offramp after Montreal and found myself paralleling the east side of the river going north. Exiting a small town I past a cop. Cop made a immediate U-turn and tailed me for about 2-3 km before finally turning around. No doubt it was the Ontario license plates. Hell I was being tailed behind a 5th wheel travel trailer going under the speed limit.
NEVER drive through Quebec.
It is not racism at all !!!
Everybody should go protest the PD and sing.
Now you can get pulled over for copyright infringement.
This police officers desperate to make money... 🤣
That’s pretty stupid ! The guy was just singing his song !
Bilal Ahmed Do you think the voice of singing in car while driving was audible to the COPs ?
Bilal Ahmed COPs just simply saw the movement of his mouth.
Go to court, don't pay. Pretty simple.
Mayor, get a grip of your police, fire the chief if that's what it takes.
1:38 ...and repeat...and repeat
This was now 4 years ago. Anyone have an update? I think this is ridiculous.
I think that cops who give such tickets out and it is found unnecessary, the person they wrote it on should be allowed one punch for each 10 dollars, or one day in jail for each 50. Enough is enough... there must be consequences.
Update????????????????????????????????????
3 years later,in 2020... i'm here and laughing my ass offffffff....." are you screaming?' " you scream in public place" while in the car
..wow really ..what if it was the 80s ? ..jail i suppose 🤔
To all law enforcement, you're not above the law.
Your name tag represents who raised you and your badge is who you represent, therefore don't disgrace either.
Story from the USA..Had a roommate ticketed twice, within the hour, by the same cop for too loud music in his car...in the daytime...cop accused him of having attitude when he objected to the second one.
that voice...that voice. I think the police might have heard "everybody duck now!!"
And they say we don’t need police reform
Welcome to the new police state
Slow day
Did he win his case? Who did the judge side with, singing really what has this world come too.
A 90s song?
Should have been the death penalty.
Now if had been a 70s hit then he should have just gotten a warning.
I would do anything to go back to the 90's.
The cop who gave that ticket deserves a beating to knock dome sense into him or her
The police of vice and virtue.......
Quebec? Probably because he wasn't singing in French.
No, that is just insane, there is no circumstance that points to that being the reason.
Rob Lurie has the most atrocious poster. I physically cringed watching him speak.
What ever happened to issuing "Warnings" instead of "Tickets " ?
Plot twist. Simmon was one of those officers on duty that day
THESE EXAMPLES ARE NOT POLICING. These examples, are aligned with the kind of
leadership there is in the PM's office, and will not be suffered much longer. IT'S ABUSE.
i literally just passed a cop car about 25 minutes ago going the opposite direction and i had my subwoofers blasting lol, i usually turn it down if i see a cop but he was in a line of 4 other cars, i was waiting for him to turn around but he didn't bother.
STUPID! I always sing songs while driving. I think the cop wasn't enjoying his life at all and he was like, well, since I'm not enjoying mine why would others enjoy theirs when I can simply ruin it.
Well, now they give you tickets for shaking the hands of another....They don't give ticket for no reason???? ya right.
LOL! being attacked? remember screaming for help is not allowed. Wow,
I've heard of "Outrageous" ticket's but this is obnoxious!! This is more like, "policing for profit, and I can't believe there's a law anywhere, even Canada, for screaming in public!? Does that mean if your child cries out or has a tantrum, that's a ticketed offence? Or how about a victim being mugged and "screams out", is that also a ticketed offence too? Ridiculous! I think those ofc were either having a bad day or they "Really Hate" that song!? I know i do. Canada must be hard-up, for cash!?
The police are not in the habit of giving out tickets for nothing ? What planet do you live on ?
Those police officers need to be disciplined. That's just rediculous.
Update?
wow ! Driving with a Crack in his Drivers license
What was the final result of this ticket?
Officers need to lay off the roids
He should get a ticket for listening to that song. I agree with the police on this one. LOL
What the heck Canada?
Cops have quota.
cops dont give tickets for no reason LOL LOL LOL
That was my 1st CD
