    Tip for wind farms, hold down shift+alt and drag your box out, then tap Z twice to space them automatically. No more chain react. It keeps the spacing for line dragging too!

      its a hard habit to get good rts players to pick up because they already play so fast and its so unique to BAR
      Good thing it saves lol

    Bro if you end up making BAR popular that would be amazing. Also fun fact, BAR originally stood for "Balanced Annihilation Remake" (Balanced Annihilation being the previous iteration in the TA family tree) but they changed the name to Beyond All Reason. They also changed the names of the factions as you know from CORE and ARM to Armada and Cortex.

    BAR is such a great RTS game, I would like to see many more BAR-videos from you. Beyond All Reason content is great.
    It is good that you do not play to much zoomed out, that way it is exiting to watch you. If you play to zoomed out, it is just a few dots on the map slowly moving, and you do not see much what is going on; from a veiwer point, the none zoomed out way you play is much more exiting.

    Keep rezzer for energy, expand with commander as soon as you hit zero metal in storage.
    I suggest you blend in another constructor in there after the first 10pawns.
    Experiment with walking out to expand to the extra mexes earlier with commander and then come back boost out excess.
    Energy storage BEFORE energy converters. Preventing e-stall is more important than a few extra metal

    Making 1 single energy converter very early generally pays off. A single e-storage helps a lot too.

    consider manipulating the "priority toggle" in a lab or unit's controls; You can ensure your lab is using resources first instead of the expansion cons - or your commander's LLTs - sucking it dry.
    A lot of people, especially in naval situations, build so much stuff with cons, and torpedo launchers with commander, that they end up wondering where their army is.

    Depending on micro, I'd say 10-15 pawns can kill a naked commander. It can go down to like 7-8 if they miss their dguns or don't have E. (This is assuming you manage to surround their commander for bonus flank dmg)

    you can change the spacing when building with cntrl shift by click z or x to make it more spread out and less spread out

    Centurions low-key kick ass. They are slow, which makes it hard to attack with them, but their firepower wipes the floor with light attack units and their HP means they are easier to repair to keep delivering value. They also outrange a commanders dgun if microd properly. Really a great unit if you get them positioned correctly and don't expect them to be able to chase other units down.

      The issue is, why would anyone ever engage them? You can't catch the only things they are decent against, really. Ticks and pawns are way faster.
      Thugs and rockets crush them. They lose to janus and stout. They can kill ticks if you are in formation and the fight is short, but an equal metal value of ticks will crush a centurion. They can similarly beat pawns and grunts, but they sure as hell don't beat pawns for cost (for the metal, pawns have more health per cost and 5 times the DPS).
      they do beat commanders, but if you drop micro at all, it's rather unforgiving. Also, if the commander can cloak, you basically have to immediately turn tail and run, whereas thugs are long enough range they can just rely on radar or hang around a bit and wait to see if the commander has the E to actually move any real distance under cloak. And if he doesn't have jammer, you can just stand out of range, as the imprecision of the radar isn't large enough to let him be in d-gun range, and your shots actually have meaningful AOE. The centurion can't and doesn't.
      They can beat light laser towers, but not well. The laser tower can hang WAY more damage on a centurion before it starts firing than it can on a thug, and you don't need a laser to reliably hit static enemy units. They also have rather bad sight range, even when compared to the thug.
      The issue I have is that primarily, they are used to defend against very fast units that plasma has trouble hitting. But you already have 2 amazing units for this that are completely in the meta: the tick and the light laser tower, and those do VASTLY more dps per cost. Why not just play the mirror? if your opponent makes ticks, you make ticks. then he can't just go around you, and if terrain doesn't let him go around you, just build light laser towers instead. Especially because you need the ticks for vision anyways.

    When queueing units, shift is +5 and ctrl is +20
    How similar is it to Total Annihilation? Earlier in the dev cycle of BAR, the units had the same name as they did from T.A. It was the same game, remade by fans. Now things are updating a bit and going in their own direction

    Still dying to know if you've played Forged Alliance Forever. Its a community project like BAR, and it massively improved SupCom the way BAR is an improvement over TA. Having played all of the Cavedog / GasWork games since they were first released, I can promise you FAF is a much better game than BAR, with far more complexity and interest in Air/ Sea as well as land, and much more sophisticated and meaningful Tech and Economic upgrade Timings. EG, Its viable to go T2 or T3 air or navy instead of T2 or T3 land. Its viable to do drops and tactical moves in a way which doesn't really exist in BAR. The base also doesn't get littered with fields of Wind / solar power. Again, everything is just better in FAF.

      FAF is superior gameplay, I'd agree. But man, I'm addicted to BAR's command system. Click dragging to space out orders and such is like a dream. I just wish I could interact with queued orders like FA and it'd be perfect.
      Oh, and FA's UI is so much easier on my eyes. BAR's UI is functional, but ugly as hell.

    There should be a way to automex spots, you drag circle around spots and it places and paths automatically. Though maybe sometimes it might not be most optimal. Bu I think it should be mostly ok, and faster :)

    Man, watching a match where you know it is over 3 minutes in but watching uthermal just take map control for another 9 minutes kinda not great pacing, imo. Seems like the scales tip early, but then there's just a lot of waiting getting to the inevitable result. I mean look at the chart at the end of the game, what an insurmountable lead you have before deciding to put someone out of their misery, eh. May be fun to play but this game isn't it for entertaining viewing, imo. And that's coming from a long-time lover of total annihilation

      this is mostly due to the large skill difference and not typicall to watch - in almost every RTS a large skill difference will lead to quickly decided matches.

      There's usually a way for an opponent to get back in the game, but I agree that perhaps UThermal takes his time securing the win rather than making big risky engagements. He's on the road to Rank 1 after all!
