my reaction exactly, 😃 Proud owner of two MadCatz and even if they are by far not the most suitable pro gaming mice, one thing no one can take away from them was their robustness & modularity.
This is such a sick idea! I love this concept. I already have a mouse that fits my hand size and grip style pretty much perfectly (G Pro Wireless; I wish the Superlight shape was the same as the OG GPW, but I tried both out in person and they're slightly different. The GPW fit my hand better.), but for those who haven't found their perfect fit yet, this is an awesome option without spending a ton of money on several different mice. Also, for the people saying that the Mad Catz R.A.T. was the first modular mouse, that's technically true, but it still had a very specific/unique base shape to the frame that couldn't really be changed much. This new product gives you almost complete free reign over the shape of the ENTIRE mouse (minus the front where the triggers are), and that's epic!!
@Wilhelm07121 RIGHT?! Same. I wish they had kept the shape the exact same with the Superlight. They're just subtle changes, but it's enough to not be comfortable if you're used to the OG GPW.
@@MrJohannson it was awesome at the time. could change the shape and the weight lol back when people thought a heavier mouse could be better. i actually still own the mouse too haha

4:40 I definitely had that type of thinking like 4 years ago but then a friend of mine said "stop looking for the best thing someone else is using and instead pick up the one that makes you the most comfortable" and it made me stop and think and realize that it isn't how well does the mouse perform on a large scale but how well it feels for me it's a basic thing but sometimes it feels like the most forgotten thing to remember. Great video and super excited for this product and it's success even if I don't purchase it
i firmly believe shape is the most important thing when it comes to mice with sensor polling and placement coming right in second and third you can have all the polling rate and weight savings in the world but if it isnt nice to hold then its meaningless.
It's funny, i just bought a Deathadder V3 to replace my broken G703. The shapes look near identical on Amazon and while simply looking at the mouse, but they feel wildly different in the hand and i find myself wishing i could just put the Deathadder internals into the G703. A modular design would get me closer to that
This is super intriguing. I've often wondered if a company would ever have a customisable click feature for the LMB/RMB, which changes the weight and tangibility of the click to suit certain grips and gaming titles.
Looks great, but when I saw the title I was hoping "modules" also meant parts with buttons like picking a thumb part with 9-12 buttons vs just back+forward buttons vs clean panel on the side. Still a good idea
Actually a very nice refreshing mouse. The market right now has sooo many mices, its hard to even pick. You almost feel the need to try absolutely all of them.
I would love a vertical mouse that works like this, maybe even adjustable "verticality" angle or one that's able to transform into a regular one. I use my Delux M618 daily since 2014 or so, although I had to do some maintenance type repairs and change the mouse completely once, it is still the most comfortable mouse I've ever used.
Correct, the gamer is not the most elegant thing. The battery life is better but the QC is not there. My Shroud g303 is double clicking and that's 3 years *after* quitting the esports pro scene.
3:12 is a game-changer for me, 10/10. I buy it five times. It’s still not wide enough, but it's a good start. Since I have a 3D printer and Reddit is nuts, there will probably be a version with wider sides to download from some mouse junk, and I'll print it then, lol.
This is an amazing idea. I’m 6’8 and have pretty large hands, and the superlight just feels small and uncomfortable in my hands. I bought a full grip around the whole mouse which helps but it still feels unnatural the way that I have to hold it to maintain control. I’ll definitely be interested in this product when it comes out!
This mouse reminds me of the now discontinued Razer Ouroboros which had 2 different grip options on either side as well as the ability to adjust the length of the mouse using a similar rail system as well as adjust the angle of the back of the mouse with a little wheel under the mouse. Crazy that I was talking about the Logitech G9 this morning with a friend, and then this video comes out. The G9 had three different modular attachment that allowed a somewhat different mouse shape, but not to this extent.
thats way more than what this mouse is doing. that would require a way to plug in button directly to the mouse cpu as currently all of them are hardwired.
I'm a lefty, and I have fully transferred my skills to my right hand. Being dual wielder solves all issues, and most importantly, I dont have unrealistic expectations that someone would care that I was disabled.
Left handed gamers are the most oppressed minority out there. I don't see why it so hard to make buttons on each side or let you order a custom left handed from a mouse site. If there isn't enough of a market to mass produce them, I couldn't imagine mirroring the shell and a small bit of software and hardware tinkering would be that expensive not to make them to order.
I also don't see the point of it honestly. Most modular products like this don't get changed once the user finds their favorite setting and all the other parts collect dust in a drawer somewhere.
First, how're you gonna find the shape you like? By buying several actual mice? Much more money spent and waste created. Secondly, at least I don't have the same shape preference for ALL applications of my mouse. Different games or office stuff do definitely benefit from different shaped mouses I think.
That's not the point at all, lol. This mouse kit allows you to change around the shape of the mouse to find the one that fits you the most, instead of having to buy like 10 different mice to get the shape that you want. It's about finding the shape that you like the most, not about changing the shape up a lot. I know that most people (at least here in the US; I can't speak for foreign countries) can just go to Best Buy or Micro Center and try out different mice, but even then those stores don't have every mouse on the market available to try out in person. This kit lets you spend money once and try out dozens of different shape and size combos to find the one that works best for you.
@daandelombaert7198 Yep. Buying is usually the only option for many places, even in the US, where most mice I am interested in aren't available for demo even in multiple micro centers nearby me. You'll never find brands like WLmouse in Micro Center, and especially not mice that are limited in quantity.
I would love to see something like this but for gamepads such as the Xbox controller. I myself have been making my own custom grips with plasticine, of course the material is not the best but at least I can feel the upgrade in the grip and ergonomics, and as a result, an improvement in my accuracy :)
@OrbitalWorks_coyeah, grips can vary a lot throughout game its something that i think a lot of people come to realize after experimenting with different shapes and grips with mice i tend to change from fingertip grip to claw gripping a lot
I thought the same thing initially but I'm not so sure now. Firstly, I can definitely see myself using different mice for different things (ie a bigger mouse for non-gaming stuff). Just switching grips could do that as well. Secondly, how're you gonna know what your right setup is otherwise? Buy several mice to test them? That's far more waste and money spent.
That's the neat part, you can't know what shape works for you until you try it. If you're willing to do gaming for the rest of your life, I'd say 200 bucks is an acceptable price to have a decent mouse you can experiment your shape prefrences on. Eventually when it breaks or becomes outdated you'll know what mouse to replace it with depending on the shape you liked most, you'll have the information needed to buy the perfect shape mice for your hand for the rest of your life. @@enfantterrible4868
One huge pro I can see here is that you can pretty much indefinitely test all sorts of mouse shapes and configurations to find the best ones that work for you and then keep whatever works best for you, but also change things up when getting into new games with new demands. The only other way to even just sufficiently test a mouse is to buy it, and then if you want to keep swapping things around and compare you would have to buy several different mice.
I've been using SoSpacer Shape Shift for the better part of 1/2 a year on my Finalmouse ULX and being able to cater a standard shaped mouse to my grip is definitely great for ergonomics and creating more contact points for even better control. I think this product is really cool and I hope there's a market for it.
0:18 So this guy has never heard of the Logitech G9 / G9X. You had 2 different backs that you can change and convert it between a slimmer controllable mouse suitable for 3D shooters, or a larger one with a thumb rest.
If your hands are tiny and never play FPS games the G502 is still a great mouse yes, but otherwise there are many better mice for half its price. You don't have to get this expensive experimental mouse.
@@houssamalucad753 if 50$ is expensive then u must be playing on the cheap 5$ chines mouse that break after evry 2 weeks 50$ is perfect price for a mouse not less not more most mouses with that price have bad motherboards g502 mother board is very good, no lag while playing shooter games
I realy like the idea. I would not be surprised if they later also introduce a bit larger base model for the ones that think that the current one is not big enough
@OrbitalWorks_co I am looking forward to that mouse. The idea is awesome and that you guys give the option to print own parts is something that can't be praised enough. I will order one when the pre order starts
I get the impetus for a product like this: everyone has different preferences. The issue is that it isn't really practical at all because each user will likely only prefer 1 to 2 setups, set the mouse that way, and never change it again. It doesn't justify the cost and waste of all of the other pieces that ship with each mouse. What *would be awesome is if they ship you a test kit to make selections, then you ship it back indicating your preferred setup, and they send you a custom mouse using the dimensions you selected.
The thing about modular gaming mouse is after you have found your optimal configuration, the extra parts becomes useless. Which means you might as well find a mouse that fits you in the first place. No one needs their mouse to keep changing or have preferences that keeps changing.
This is really cool. I think the groves on the right side is what has been missing in the mouse market. Mice where all they do is have a slope on the side is not the best way to grip mice, we need groves for how our pinky finger grips the sides.
I was a little concerned about possible weight, but that does not sound like an issue. This is something I will definitely pick up when it comes to market. Even if I don't like it, it will be cool to have.
i feel like this couldve been the perfect opportunity to make this lefty friendly aswell, since each part is modular you can get the same part but for the opposite side
I was wondering if you were planning on making a video showcasing all the new rapid trigger keyboards and latency testing them all. Off the top of my head there’s the Wooting, Keychron, DrunkDeer, Logitech, Razer, Corsair, Steelseries and probably a few more you would remember that I can’t. Please do make a video on this as it would be something I, and a substantial amount of viewers would be interested in. Thank you!
Razer has a mouse you can change the button configuration on the side of the mouse, so you can put on a fps or moba or mmo button configuration on the side and change it at will. It doesn’t let you change the shape but I’d argue that still counts as modular. Though it did disappoint me as a mouse, I loved the idea since it basically gave you 3 mice in one which you could change on a per game basis.
I really vibed with the "you don't have to experiment new shapes all the time" I started with a G502 (like a lot of people), then moved to a G305 when I got recruited in an Overwatch esports team and thought it was time to go lighter and smaller. After a couple of years of trial and error, I found that the mouse I played the best with was the Steelseries Rival 3. I even used my old Rival 3 wireless for tournaments even though it was much heavier just because the shape was so good. Of course, I bought the Aerox 3 a little later (pretty much on release day), but that mouse really doesn't age well. Great shape, great sensor decent weight but the design just gunks up with every hair that might be left on the mouse pad. After comparing and testing mice again, I ended up with a Pulsar X2 medium (which is is almost exactly the same as the Rival 3 shape). I'm retired from pro playing now, but honestly I think this is my kind of endgame mouse and as long as it works, I don't feel like changing the mouse. Even if it dies, I'll just buy another or whatever it is they have that has teh same shape and weight. The modular mouse here seems nice for people that haven't found their shape yet. Or for people that feel like changing every now and then. I don't think I would buy such a product personally, even though it's pretty cool to see. Especially the fact that with all the modular parts and with no holes, the mouse with a lot of attachements and printed in resin is still lighter than the Aerox 3 which was full of holes LOL (realistically, Steelseries just played dumb there, they added an RGB diffuser that adds something like 8gs to the mouse for no reason... I turned it off instantly when using it)
My only concern about the ratchet system up is the wear and tear, but because of the type of use you kinda have to use the system over magnets so the modules don’t snap off accidentally
for anyone whos intrested in side grips like these - ive started making pretty similiar looking ones last year called Hyperwings. Most important thing for me was that you dont have to spend this much money and can just put them on almost every mouse but yeah - really dig their concept nevertheless!
It seems like you could also 3D print your replacement parts or make your own! Could be resin or a lighter plastic. This is really good for the gaming industry
If they continue adding and refining to the concept of this mouse it will make an impact to the industry, so many people have different references and hand sizes
Waiting for this mouse to become available worldwide, this kind of modular mouses would really help to lessen over-buying in mouses just to find the right fit

First, how're you gonna find the shape you like? By buying several actual mice? Much more money spent and waste created.
Secondly, at least I don't have the same shape preference for ALL applications of my mouse. Different games or office stuff do definitely benefit from different shaped mouses I think.
@@Musikvidedo You try them out in the store, and if you truly don't like the mouse after a while, you don't trash it but sell it online, easy.
I myself have been making my own custom grips with plasticine, of course the material is not the best but at least I can feel the upgrade in the grip and ergonomics, and as a result, an improvement in my accuracy :)
idk, the moment you find the right set-up
the rest unused parts gonna be useless tho
@OrbitalWorks_coyeah, grips can vary a lot throughout game
its something that i think a lot of people come to realize after experimenting with different shapes and grips with mice
i tend to change from fingertip grip to claw gripping a lot
I thought the same thing initially but I'm not so sure now.
Firstly, I can definitely see myself using different mice for different things (ie a bigger mouse for non-gaming stuff). Just switching grips could do that as well.
Secondly, how're you gonna know what your right setup is otherwise? Buy several mice to test them? That's far more waste and money spent.
If they help you find what you like, they're not useless.
as always. absolute cinema. thankyou
190$ for box of plastic 80% of what you'll never use. Neat.
true. find one (better) mouse that fits perfect for half the price

One huge pro I can see here is that you can pretty much indefinitely test all sorts of mouse shapes and configurations to find the best ones that work for you and then keep whatever works best for you, but also change things up when getting into new games with new demands.
The only other way to even just sufficiently test a mouse is to buy it, and then if you want to keep swapping things around and compare you would have to buy several different mice.
why it kinda look like an actual mouse
Because it is a mouse
Love the idea. I just hope it doesn't take years for then to actually launch it. This is on my radar now.
isnt mad catz the first to do this?
I've been using SoSpacer Shape Shift for the better part of 1/2 a year on my Finalmouse ULX and being able to cater a standard shaped mouse to my grip is definitely great for ergonomics and creating more contact points for even better control.
I think this product is really cool and I hope there's a market for it.
0:18 So this guy has never heard of the Logitech G9 / G9X. You had 2 different backs that you can change and convert it between a slimmer controllable mouse suitable for 3D shooters, or a larger one with a thumb rest.
Awesome that they’re releasing the 3d files for the rails!!
@OrbitalWorks_cowhats the weight of the base mouse before mods?
Im staying with my g502 i dont have 300$ for a mouse
If your hands are tiny and never play FPS games the G502 is still a great mouse yes, but otherwise there are many better mice for half its price. You don't have to get this expensive experimental mouse.
@@houssamalucad753 if 50$ is expensive then u must be playing on the cheap 5$ chines mouse that break after evry 2 weeks 50$ is perfect price for a mouse not less not more most mouses with that price have bad motherboards g502 mother board is very good, no lag while playing shooter games
@@houssamalucad753 the g502 is not a small mouse...
@@RM-xq7gf it's narrow, people with large hands get cramps using it for a long time.
Reasonably priced non AI generated wallpapers without a monthly subscription? If only other UA-camrs could've thought of such a plan.
MadCatz has entered the chat. 🤣
The thing about modular gaming mouse is after you have found your optimal configuration, the extra parts becomes useless. Which means you might as well find a mouse that fits you in the first place. No one needs their mouse to keep changing or have preferences that keeps changing.

Okay, but those were trash.
I have a Logitech G502 KDA and i absolutely love the shape of it, i just wish they make like a really light version of it, without that many buttons
If you see this...Have a legendary day!!!
Dude stop with this toxic positivity BS.
I hope your day is legendary too bro🤝🏻
My first priority in gaming mice is asymetrical design for ergonomics, then weight. This however looks very interesting, could be next big trend.
FIRST CMONNNNNNNN OPTIMUMMM
No, no you’re not.
Nobody asked 🤡
You're third. Don't get too excited.
Edit: the first person deleted their comment, so you're second now.
@jack-alvin I did 🤡
This is really cool. I think the groves on the right side is what has been missing in the mouse market. Mice where all they do is have a slope on the side is not the best way to grip mice, we need groves for how our pinky finger grips the sides.
17 seconds and only 1 veiw??? bro fell off.
@OrbitalWorks_co that's great to hear! thank you
There is also a mouse called Kreo Griphin, went out of stock and company has discontinued it but it was also modular
I really vibed with the "you don't have to experiment new shapes all the time"
I started with a G502 (like a lot of people), then moved to a G305 when I got recruited in an Overwatch esports team and thought it was time to go lighter and smaller.
I would like to see them make one with really low hump so you can add pieces and mimic a ton more mice.
for anyone whos intrested in side grips like these - ive started making pretty similiar looking ones last year called Hyperwings. Most important thing for me was that you dont have to spend this much money and can just put them on almost every mouse but yeah - really dig their concept nevertheless!
As a Dcs player, i would be more than happy if i can occasionally add more side buttons to its
It seems like you could also 3D print your replacement parts or make your own! Could be resin or a lighter plastic. This is really good for the gaming industry
If they continue adding and refining to the concept of this mouse it will make an impact to the industry, so many people have different references and hand sizes
the OP1 8K is also nice in that you can change the click switches pretty easily
I’d love to buy a kit and then send them unused parts back. Once I get it to fit my hand perfectly I doubt I’ll ever change it.
Waiting for this mouse to become available worldwide, this kind of modular mouses would really help to lessen over-buying in mouses just to find the right fit
