No doubt. Played one of the most unique positions in football history and him and Wilfork were leagues ahead of everyone else. Just showed absolute world class mastery of it. He was the literal keystone of those Steelers defenses. I think he already knows, but would love to tell him someday that we know just how good he was.
Casey House Hampton. Incredible run stopper. Plugged up the middle! I will never forget him putting Eddie George to sleep with a massive hit in a playoff game! Great nose tackle!
Hampton, Smith, Von Olhoffen with a young Kiessel and Chris Hoke coming in to relieve was one of the best D-lines in all time history. You absolutely could NOT run on that D for years.
Although there will never be another Steel Curtain this was a very good D-line. You're right on and the most underrated player may have been Aaron Smith.
I just watched the Aaron Smith video and I mentioned how I would love to see him in the HOF some day, but this dude should have been already in there. Between Hampton and Hines Ward, it's an absolute crime that neither of those two guys aren't in the Hall yet.
John Madden said he was the best Nose tackle in the league. I remember a MNF game against Cleveland where John Madden was highlighting what made the 3-4 work. He said you NEED a NT like Casey. That was in 2005. RIP John Madden
He’s right about Dan Rooney. Back in the early 90’s I used to rent space in a building on Reedsdale Street by the Steelers practice field. One Saturday I went down there and two guys were at the back door. They didn’t have keys and asked me if I could send the elevator down. I told them it doesn’t work that way. It was one of those elevators you operate by pulling a cable switch. Then I said “Who are you?” “We’re the Steelers” the younger guy said. I was a stupid 30-something dude at the time, so I said, “You don’t look like Steelers” at which the young guy gave me a look like I really pissed him off. The older guy just cracked up laughing. I said hold on let’s go up and I’ll get you the elevator. We go up the stairs to the second floor and John Richter the building manager comes up and says “”Hello Dan”. I look over at the older guy and he’s just smiling when he saw the look on my face. I said “I’m so sorry Mr Rooney! I didn’t recognize you.” He said “no problem, it happens all the time.” The younger guy I found out later was Dan Ferens, Chief contract negotiator at the time. He was not smiling.
Don't know if the NFL calls for a player like Casey again but I truly miss him.he was extremely dominate at taking on two.and would always be on the PFP list at camp but when the season began hold on.
In my opinion, they should have allowed LeBeau to remain as defensive coordinator for as long as he wanted to. Yes, the game has changed to allow the offense to score more points. But I wonder how he would have fared in today's NFL? I have a feeling that he would have figured it out, just as always. Sometimes changes are necessary, and then sometimes change is not even warranted. I forgot that Hampton was involved in winning two Superbowls. The traditional 3/4 defense had to have some studs or as they say today, DAWGS in the middle to allow the LB's to roam freely. It seems to me that in the 3/4 that give the offensive line an advantage. However, if you have the type of DAWGS up front to make it work. That defense can be very effective. If a kick returner can get in the hall, why not someone like Hampton. Thank you, Hampton (BIG SNACK)!
If u watch interior line play instead of the ball, he’s one of the most dominant nt I’ve ever seen. I cant think of any nt asked to 2 gap in consistently in todays game.
ITS SNAAAAAACK 🥹🙏💛🖤💛🖤💛. LOOKING GOOD BROTHER. GOD BLESS YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY AFTER FOOTBALL SNACK! THANKYOU FOR PAVING THE WAY FOR THE CURRENT GENERATIONAL OF STEELERS!! #HEREWEGO
He’s one of the earliest memories I have of the steeler defense. I feel privileged to grow up in the early 2000s getting to watch this team back in those days
During his career he took one for the team ( giving up stats for team success) that's why only football people remember his contributions. 5 pro bowls 2 rings might be enough but he will have to wait like Donnie Shell did.
Watching the highlights in the background, WHAT A MONSTER! HOF NOW! Why is he not in already?? Ridiculous! Guys like TD who played for what, 3 years is in, but Casey hamption is not? HOF should be ashamed of themselves….
I didn't appreciate the greatness of Casey Hampton. Every year Steelers allowed close to the least yards rushed against in the whole league, and Steelers won a lot of games by forcing the other team to pass to have a chance to win. Then Casey Hampton retired and it has never been the same. Casey spoiled us silly. We didn't fully understand and appreciate Casey Hampton. I love you, Casey, and Almighty Lord God Jesus loves you more!
2 SB wins isn't relevant and nobody besides a few remaining fans take the Pro Bowl seriously because fans vote for it. All pro selections (Hampton 0) and stats are what get you in. A D lineman with 9 career sacks and 4 forced fumbles ,regardless of whether that was his primary role or not, is getting into the HOF. Regardless of how good he was it's never happening.
@@JW0143 You're wrong. And I find it interesting that someone who hasn't played a down in the NFL, is making such definitive statements about what is an HOF worthy resume.
@@onlinesavant LMAO well I'm not wrong because he's not in the HOF and never will be and you do realize most of the HOF voters never played in the NFL right? Sorry homer he's never getting in
@@JW0143 Yes, you are wrong. His accomplishments are HOF worthy, as they are more substantial than many that are the body right now. For example, Calvin Johnson. I never said whether he would ever be in or not, and you know this. But I SAID he SHOULD be as his resume is worthy. So, go off with your disingenuousness and trolling, because you picked the wrong one to try it with. Just so you know, I'm hiding any other responses from you, so any other trolling is futile on your part.
Big Snack never got the credit he deserved. The man was stout, and the Defense being on top against the run every year should put him in the H.O.F.. Big Snack looks healthy. He's a much smaller Big Snack now.
Casey Hampton belongs in the hall of fame. Period. End of story
Him and Ward

Exclamation point 👊🏾👊🏾
Absolutely!! He’s not??? WTF??
What a line. Casey, Brett, Aaron and Kimo
Great to Casey in shape and healthy, looks great.
Yes. Good for Casey.
We love you Casey. Thanks for the all the blood and sweat you put out on that field.
Yessir second that !
Casey House Hampton. Incredible run stopper. Plugged up the middle! I will never forget him putting Eddie George to sleep with a massive hit in a playoff game! Great nose tackle!
One of the all time greats
My Dude!!! Was a monster for us!!!🖤💛
Yeah
Aaron Smith and Casey Hampton. Two totally underappreciated guys.
Facts can’t forget Brett Keisel either !
Such an underrated player. Kept our ILB's free from O-linemen when stopping the run and rushing the passer.
@@stlrecon2475 he literally said that caseys underrated and now you think he thinks casey isnt underrated 😂😂
Big Snack looks like he dropped some weight. Good for him. 💪
I'm not saying he's not underrated but there's so many legends and only 24 hrs in the day 😂 Casey is a Steelers legend
One of my all time favorite players to ever wear the Black and Gold...! THANK YOU MR. HAMPTON
Miss this man what a legend 💯
The first D lineman that I really payed attention to when I first got into Steelers football. Dude was awesome him n Levon Kirkland.
He was a Bad Dude for sure!
BIIIIIIG SNACK. MY MAN!!! loved this dude. That whole defense man I miss sooo much. We was so lucky and Coach Lebeau
Those legendary defenses of the mid 2000’s coached by Dick Lebeau, everything started upfront with Casey Hampton. Steelers Legend. #SteelCurtain2.0
Looking at his stats he played in most games in his career only missing a decent amount of games in 04' in 12 years of playing. Really held it down.
Damn, Big Snack looks great!
he's Little Snack now!
MY BOY BIG CASE LOOKS GOOD & healthy brotha 💪🏾💪🏾
Great guy! He overnighted signed jerseys so that we could give them as a graduation gift for my nephews! Thank you, Casey!
✨LIVING LEGEND

BIG SNACK!! 💪
Arguably one the BEST nose tackles in the game! The line hasn't been the same since he retired
Agreed…he has yet to be replaced. One of my favorite Steelers players ever
Big snack put down the little Debbie... What a legend! Always wild seeing these guys transform themselves post career.
BIG SNACK BABYYYYY
Still have my Hampton jersey. Never letting it go.
Casey Hampton was an Incredible football Player..He was a huge part of our defense..God Bless ya &
Go STEELERS..!!!
Back in his day you built your team around the D tackle he was a amazing player, they struggled for years with out him.He looks amazing now!
Consistent !! player !
One of my favourite Steelers! A great Steelers Legend.
Casey was the linchpin for their utter run stopping dominance. Everything started, or rather ended, with number 98.
A Hall of Famer for sure, he was the key to the entire Dick LeBeau era in Pittsburgh
He's a great
BIG SNACK!!! lookin good brother!! HOF worthy for sure!
Kimo, Casey and Aaron were the best line ever! Three rocks!
Nah...The Steel Curtain is the best ever...in the nfl....but this is the 2nd best line
Miss Big Snack! Humble, great player.
The BIG Snack...best NT in steelers history....looks like we need to change it to The Healthy Snack....looking good Casey

OG looking good one of the underrated greats bro deserves more respect
Casey eating up 2-3 blockers was a big reason that defense was so good.
Well they did go 15-1 with the leagues best defense without him in 04 when he was replaced by Hoke. The D was just loaded
The defense started with this man doing his job 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐

Best 3-4 NT of all time. Nobody will ever be Casey Hampton
My favorite analogy of Casey was, “His arms are like legs, and his legs are like people.”
PUT THIS MAN IN THE HALL
An all-time great for the Longhorns and the Steelers. 🤘🏼
Big Snack!!!!! Holy hell I miss that man in the black and gold! Big love for you Casey!

My favorite Steeler. The way he ALWAYS came to play was amazing to me.
Wow! It has the play when he concussed Eddy George. How to forget it!
I think the voters are tired of Steelers in the hall because we have so many. Hines belongs in as well!
