I was honestly surprised to like this episode that much. What a great man, into audio and video but using youthman deals all over. Enjoying his equipment to the fullest instead of keeping on focussing on upgrading. It might be an age related thing, from a consumer of equipment to a consumer of content and enjoying life. Wish him good luck learning to play instruments and achieve his life goals!
I just want to be as cool as Don when I grow up haha! Love seeing his passion and the fact that he has been at this for a long time and knows what he likes and how to use it :)
You can really sense the joy and passion this room brings to this audiophile. It's a well treated room that still looks like a comfortable, personable space. Well done!
This is honestly such an underrated set up. And it kind of inspires me for the future as to what I really wanna do with my living space. Being forced with constraints with certain room sizes not being ideal, your talk that you both gave has given me a lot of input as to what I wanna do in the future. I’m 32, so I know I’m still young in the whole home theater game, but making minor upgrades little by little, and especially watching videos like this really inspires me with excitement towards what my future set up could look like!
Oh man, I am in love with this man. Great man with lots of equipment with lot more knowledge than young guys. I really appreciate his passion over music.
You are a very good interviewer and I don’t know if you studied journalism but the way you communicate the info (engaging-concise) and how respectful you are with the subject of the interview is refreshing to see.
This is by far the best setup tour you have done Youthman, Such a lovely guy Don is. You could see the pride in him when he was talking about his setups. Was smiling through the video :) Take care..
This was great to see and hear. Ultimately it is about the passion we have for it. Awesome. Thank you for sharing this with us. Greetings from the Netherlands Limburg Maastricht and of course continue with what you are doing. Peace and love and of course coffee beans. ✌🏾🌍😘☕️👈🏿
Youth man you are the best guy for this job:reason being u are really invested in everyone u interview..my guess is u find it cool to interview people who love this stuff as much as you do! Good job sir!
Ps I bought my first real home theater system from circuit city in 97 at age 15..onkyo head unit.jbl speakers and a dcm powered 10 sub..till this day even with audiophile gear I miss that system and the sound it had..worked hard at restaraunts to pay for all that lol
Thank you for the kind words. You are correct I truly do enjoy the relationships and friendships I make along the way. It’s always great connecting with other passionate enthusiast
Don, great system! Just a thought have you tried telling the Anthem that there is no center channel and allowing it and the Tektons to create a phantom center. This should be especially effective for when it is just you seated center. Since you still have 2 spare profiles, if you like the results you can have a profile with the actual center and one with the phantom. I am pretty confident that the phantom center with those Tektons will be able to produce better results than the physical center for the MLP. The phantom image starts to breakdown as you move off center, thus why you may want to keep the physical center around for larger groups.
Great tour, nice to see another non-dedicated set up, My "media center" is in my Den and wife has allowed quite a bit of freedom. Don's got a complete "house of media". And I have some of those same Circuit City Infinity's (including the CC-1) in storage. Too bad I didn't take better care of the towers, actually tossed them about 6 months ago, it was my 3 generation back set up. I'm a couple of years behind Don, but I hope my passion (and hearing) hang on to enjoy the ride as much as he has.
Rarely do you see someone at this age have this attention to technical detail. Absolutely love this! Great setup Don, amazing work. Another great vid Youthman.
Another great video! Love this setup and I’m beyond curious how those speakers sound. They are so unique and really cool. And what a cool guy he is. So happy to see him just enjoy his passion.
This was a really fun video. Although it's fun to see the high end dedicated rooms, I think the more 'down home' and DIY/budgeted the HT is, the more I enjoy the theater because I can relate to just about everything being discussed.
Despite having my sofa against the wall, I use DML speakers as surround back speakers (which I dun see in this setup) for my 7.2.5 setup. They do wonders. Should give it a try.
I enjoyed this video and I am so much like Don because I have 4 systems in our home and I am learning to play the guitar, bass , piano and organ with a full studio. I am going back to the vintage speakers as well I am restoring 6 DCM speakers from the mid 70s to 90s when Steve sold the company to MTX so I can relate or I’m just old. Haha
I am SO excited to watch this. I was going either JTR 212's or Tekton Moabs for my fronts. The JTR won, but I never got to listen to the Tektons, which fills my thoughts with should have, would have, could have.
I contacted Anthem when they first announced the AVM70 last year. They were going to send one for review and then crickets. I’m working with Audio Advice to get one.
Speakers are speakers I never believed in having matching speakers thing,in my system I have klipsch acustic energy aelite 3 b&w M1s and b&w DM 302 and it's good except for the subs I'm upgrading those
Youthman, I may be crazy but I thought I read a couple of decades ago that strong base you can "feel in the chest" actually can mess with a heartbeat and should be avoided with a person with heart issues. Is that factual or was it just an urban legend? I trust your knowledge, so.....
Honestly I’m not a doctor so I do not know if that is an urban legend or not. All I can tell you is I’ve never heard of anyone dying from listening to powerful subwoofers
For Roon music storage I use an i3 Dell PC with 16 gigs of ram, 240 gig SSD for operating system and storing Metadata, 2 gig high speed hard disk for music storage. So far I have used 800 gig of storage. If the recording is something I play alot then it is stored in FLAC. For compilations, rarely played music i store them as a MP3. Although lossy it still sounds good and I can always pull the CD and rip in FLAC.
The M700 monoblocks are class H and barely get warm Although the Outlaws are class A/B they are mostly driving surrounds and Atmos that get much less use. I have checked them even during heavy usage and the heat is a non event.
Interesting that at the start of the video you felt it nessacary to mention the gentleman's age. Forgive me if I am wrong but you have not mentioned previous subjects ages before.
That is correct. The point of mentioning his age was you’re never too old to enjoy music and movies. I specifically asked him if I could share his age as he shared it with me during my visit. Near the end of the video he also shared that he’s been doing this longer than I have been alive which I think is absolutely phenomenal that his passion for home theater and music has been over 50 years. I wanted to celebrate that fact.
@@Youthman Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of that as nature has denied me the pleasure and privilege of having children. So I bow to your superior experience in this matter.

Oh man, I am in love with this man. Great man with lots of equipment with lot more knowledge than young guys. I really appreciate his passion over music.
Finally, another HT enthusiast that’s as old as I am, maybe even a few years older! Fantastic setup Don, great job!
One of my favorites room I've seen in your channel..... all that music.
Thank you Eli glad you enjoyed the video

Can't go wrong with big Tektons. Eric is a really great speaker designer who happens to be a genius.
Really liked this clip.

looks awesome Michael
This is a fun one. Really enjoyed my time with Don
awesome setup ...got to really like his passion for the hobby
Family Room/Living Room stereo like most of us have. Thanks!
Always appreciate your support and generosity Reggie.
I have one of those dual 10 inch sony subs and for what it is and for the cost I say for the money it performs suprisingly well.

Your sliding glass window should be changed to a double or triple pane glass, guarantee to keep your sound in, it does for me. Good luck
What an amazing set up, thnx for sharing Don 🙌🏼
Very motivational and educative discussion, it's a long journey...
Great job to both of you....was a pleasure to enjoy this hometheater tour...thks
Well thought out set up, I'm very impressed!
Loved this very nice room and collection.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Great video, thank you. Some good insights into real world setups.
Great theater tour !
Au Top comme d'habitude 👍
Power Rangers! Love the Red Ranger figurine! I've got his helmet in my office!
Awesome setup!!!
Thanks Michael for another great theater tour!!!

I personally prefer my JTR 212HTR but that is subjective.
A demonstration would be nice!
This was and insane set up i can hang out with don
Exactly thisvis what I am looking for . Thanks ..85 inchbtv hone theatre 🎥
Yeah! We are gonna make Michael switch to an Anthem pre/pro now!!!!

Do what works best for you.
@@Youthman yep that's the most important thing, that you like what you have
Love your hometheater youthman it's better than mine can you tell me if you can is it lmportant to have accoustic panels in your theater
Stand in the middle of your room and clap your hands loudly one time. If you hear a massive echo, then absolutely, your room needs acoustic treatment.
Hey Michael, I ask questions, you in particular, is because I value your opinion in things HT.
Thank you kindly. Glad to help when I can
Do the Polycell 15's have rear firing ports?
At the 24:30 mark, he was talking about the Outlaw amps he got, which he said, for under $1k, and I misunderstood him saying $100k!
Gotcha. 👍
Yea I thought I heard 100k too
Had to rewind that part quick

I am only stroing music. I have no system (yet) for movies
Thank you Don for the quick response.
Don’t those amps need to breathe?

Legendary
Hi sir
Soo cool !!
That’s why I asked, I wasn’t sure of what he said!
Honestly I don’t remember what section of the video you’re referring to
Angles ceilings are irrelevant, so may ways to compensate for this.
Yes he was able to find a solution to what he had to work with. You just wouldn’t be able to use upfiring Atmos with angled ceiling

Except for the child discounts at amusement parks 🤣

It has zero to do with being superior. As a Father of four children, I miss the days we could get into Disney World much cheaper. 😀
WHY NOT 9.2.6
Excellent vedio😍😍
Love it
0:33 2 turntables and no microphone
I ALMOST said it in the video lol

New sub! Liked ❤️😀👍🚀
Thanks!
Wait, what? Did he say 100k ea?
For what? I’m guessing you misheard him. Nothing in his system cost $100K
Okay, I played it back and turned the sound up. He said under $1k! With the sound down, it sounded like 100k.
Haha gotcha
Watching the filthy moonfall movie
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Premier in 30 minutes? Shouldn’t you be at Church? Hmmmmm!
I made the post before our church service started. I got home 5 minutes before the premiere started. But thanks for your concern about my spiritual life.
Cringe comment.
@Keeping Up With The Joneses, it can be. But most people use that as an excuse not to go to church.
think he ran outta money after his fronts lol... terrible terrible center
