- First major modification to the C8 Corvette - a new set of forged Aerolarri wheels and Pirelli PZero tires. Many other mods to follow, but this is an exciting one. And the deal I got on these wheels and the deal on the tires is insane!
Aerolarri Forged Wheels: www.aerolarri.... -- *FYI - their prices have changed since I made this video*

Aerolarri are the real deal. I have number 2 of the mantis in Carbon flash. Best quality wheels I have ever owned. Amazing price and fitment was perfect 21x12 and 20x9.5 and so impressed I ordered a second set of 20x10 and 21x13 of the new crosswinds that just got on market.
Yep. A guy that does wheel repair for the local Ferrari dealer was blown away by how good of quality they were. And he works with nice wheels.
Great call on style, color and especially the size. The factory 19" and 20" combination is simply too small for the C8. 20" and 21" is perfect. Well done Clayton!
Thanks Chris. I think it was the right choice too
This is actually really good info! Great video! I even screenshoted the price-match receipt in case I can use that! And yea, I own AEROLARRI too soo, can’t hide that too lol 😂. I only found this video because a customer mentioned it and I’m like, what video? Huh? Lol.
Sounds like word spread quickly! 🤙
@@SupercarRanch oh yea. If you explain the experience as well as that, peoples’ eyes go wide open
Did you end up selling the 19/20 factory set? I've got my '23 C8 Z51 coming in this week with wheels/rims like yours. Looking at a change possible. Great deal on tires too! Wow!
No I ended up keeping them and putting them back on before I sold the car
Thanks for the informative video.. I’ll order around January as winter is approaching, so I can be ready for spring. Car looks great!!
Thanks! I’d recommend ordering as soon as possible just in case there are any supply chain issues. Either way, good choice 👍
I was set on which rims I wanted for my 2022 c8, but now you have me questioning it all over again! Looks great
Go see all the styles and colors that Aerolarri has. I’ll bet there is something that will do it for ya 👍
I'll check them out. How long did it take from order to delivery?
About 3.5 months. Depends on how many orders they have and shipping. Should be somewhere between 2-4 months to get them
@@SupercarRanch appreciate it brother, will be reaching out to them to place my order soon, what a smoking deal!
Great video, very helpful and informative. Also, you are so right about Chet's great customer service. By the way, I was selling my C8, now that I have viewed your video. I am purchasing the wheels and tires and keeping my car. 😆 Thank you!
Haha! I’ve served my purpose for the day then! Good luck 😁
Thanks for the info, hopefully my C8 will be in soon🤞🤞I've been waiting 7 months just to order.
We’re all in this together! I waited 13 months before delivery
Good info brother.these are good looking rims with right price.i am buying from them for sure.
Great choice!
Wow, looks great, best finish ever.
Thanks! I think so too. Came out great
Great video. Very informative. Keep up the terrific content. 👍
Thanks for the kind words
Hey man thanks for sharing this video. I have a 2022 on order and have been checking out wheels. I like the 21R 20F set up. I’ve seen Porsche doing it on the 911’s from the factory for some years now, so it’s nothing new for the critics. Also these should be a lot lighter than the factory wheels which are normally very heavy. Car looks good, keep it up!
They are much lighter! Yeah I know people wil find anything to talk trash. The Z06 and ERay are going to come with 20/21 from the factory. These kids are trolls
Love the wheel style and the color is fantastic. Kinda thinking about going with the base wheels now. And then contacting Chet for some fancy wheels similar to yours. Def want to see how the vinyl wrap job comes out for you. I also am thinking about wrapping mine. Car is looking beautiful
For sure man! That was exactly my plan. Base wheels for free, then buy aftermarket. Chet is the man, he will get you what you need 👍
Great video and very informative! Would you be able to share which tire website you were able to get the price match against? Thanks!
Sure. It was Speedy Tire and BB Wheels. No idea if they still have them at the same prices anymore.
@@SupercarRanch Thank you!
Great video, thank you so much for the information. I will definitely be ordering some for my C8! Great information on the rims and tires and the whole process. Only question I have is, did you get direct tire to mount those tires for you so did they get dropship to them and then they put the tires on it. Thanks Tom because I’ll have to do the same procedure.
Yes i did have them mount them. The store I used has a zero touch machine and I was very particular about things to be sure they did it right. They did a great job.
Love the wheels! Great choice!
Thank you
Great info cannot wait to get my C8.
You’re gunna love it
They do look very nice! Hoping for a wide shot with view of whole car profile too!
I hear ya. I’ll be putting plenty of pics on my Instagram page soon
Great price and looks great! 👌 Might have to get a set for my C8 Z06 when I get it. Might consider on my gated R8 or C7 Z06.
exceptional style, I'm loving it. Unfortunately you will always be outperformed by C8s with smaller wheels
Maybe, but maybe not. These are lighter than the stock wheels and the wheels and tires are wider for a better contact patch. So these may possibly perform better. Having said that, I didn’t buy these for the purpose of performing on a track, so not anything that worries me.
@@SupercarRanch less sidewall=worse performance. It's just a fact, an 18-inch wheel or smaller will allow for less air and softer compound and more sidewall, hence more grip. Basically closer to an F1 slick than a donk rubberband
Nice looking wheel setup, I chose a set of HRE's for my CMG C8 but stayed with the 19/20 sizes. I considered a 20/21 combo but was worried about hitting a pothole with those thinner tires. Sounds you'll be going down the same sort of modification route as I have been. I'm on the same page as you about waiting for more spoiler options.
It always something to consider with thinner sidewalls but I’ve been driving cars with low profile tires for nearly 20 years and never popped and tire or bent a rim on a pothole. May happen someday but not worried about it that much. Glad to see another CMG out there getting love 😁
How much weight did they use to balance them? /and how did you like the Pirelli tires?
Not sure. This was a couple years ago and I don’t have the car or wheels any more. But the Pirellis were good. They handled well. Only down side it they would flat spot a little if they sat for a while. But drive for a couple miles to warm them up and they are good.
@@SupercarRanch Oh ok, sounds good! I'm sure you would remember if they had to put more weights than usual to balance them. Overall were you happy with the wheels?
Awesome, they look great...
Thanks!!
They look great… good choice on color 👍🏼
Thanks!
Congrats. These wheels look great. Gonna call for more info. Do you offer any discount code?
For the wheels? No sir. Let’s say their regular price already come with a discount code at the price he sells them at 😁
Beautiful wheels. Car looks amazing. But the PZero’s are no where near as good as the summer Pilots man. Pilots especially the summer ones are Just a much better tire in general. PZero’s are Not a bad tire per se but Tires are so important and can make or break the way a car drives.
I have a question, I have a very slight shudder at around 65mph, do you notice any difference with these wheels? I have 20" on the front.. thanks!
I did not. The only thing I noticed was that the Pirellis flat spot worse than the Michelins if they sit for a while and were cold. Otherwise seemed smoother than the stock wheels and tires.
Great choices and I'm with you on affordable mods. 👍🏾👍🏾 Are the tires run flats?
Unfortunately no they are not. But I keep roadside assistance on my insurance and gave the road hazard warranty on the tires. So I may get stranded but I’m covered
@@SupercarRanch I'm sure they ride better than run flats. Great video content
Between the 4 and 5 minute mark, the wheels look silver and not dark at all. I’m leaning towards black but like the color changing but not if it really looks that silver. Would you say that in person they are the same color as they show up in the video?
What site did you use to find the lower prices to match? If you could point me in the right direction that would be helpful, I’ve used Discount Tire and the are great and would like to purchase through them if I can get a similar deal.
Great question. It honestly just takes a lot of searching. Find the part numbers of the tires you want, then get into Google and Bing and dig through all the results both in the Shopping tabs and the All tabs. Just go to each tires stores website and see what they have it at. Then if you find a place that ships and has them in stock, send it to the “Found It Lower” form on Discount Tire’s site. They are pretty good at matching. They will factor in shipping costs as well if the other store charges for shipping so make sure you account for that.
Those wheels look sick
I love them every time I see them 👍
What seems to good to be true usually is . This wheels you got what kind of warranty does it have ? You found nothing new his in the corvette Forum and I still went with HRE for my car because I want a lifetime warranty. He does seem like a good guy I talked to him before ordering my HRE wheels , but the whole point of forged wheels is that there lighter take your car on the track see if the crack .
These are of course made over seas, I'm curious as to the porosity of these wheels and how strong they are and how well they will hold up...I hope you inspected them very closely before installing.
Yes they are. Porosity issues are more so a concern with cast wheels, rather than forged wheels. The GM wheels that had porosity issues are cast wheels. That’s not saying there could never be an issue with forged wheels, but it is much less likely for a similar type of issue
I did look at the website...nice styles...attractive price point...as for tires I've ran Perelli in the past...they do harden fast...
Looks great! What’s the finish called?
Black Ghost Glazed Brushed
Did you get the wheel sensors reprogramed?
Yes. Very easy to do.
What site did you find the smoking deal on tires for Discount tire to price match?
No idea if they are still at the cost, but I found them at speedytire.com and bbwheels.com
Anytime a person has themselves in the frame more than the item they are hyping is crap. They seem like amazing wheels. I was to pissed to look at them at the moment.
Thought at first it wasn’t worth watching….those wheels are the shit
Glad I was able to turn it around for ya 🤣👍
Discount tire is the best
They really are! They get a bad rap for being a big chain, but they really are better.
They’ve always been there for me and will always have my repeat business from my civic to my C8….
What the offsets of the wheels?
I’ll have to find it and get back to ya
bro I just called them over $3k please stop lying ,,,,you had me pump up ...wheels around 2K not true homie ,,
They started at $1997 plus shipping when I bought them over a year ago. I know Chet has had to raise prices this year due to the cost of material and shipping, so yes they are probably more now. Not sure why you’d say I was lying 🙄
19/20 and 20/21 are not the same price. In some sizes there is a $1288 difference from a 19/20 to a 20/21 setup. There were plenty of black ghost glazed at Carlisle so I don't know where you got that info you had the only set. Get a grip with yourself stop coming across as an arrogant needle stick.
Hi Julius. Sorry that you are feeling the way you are this morning. I just double checked with the website and yes the 20x9/21x12 or 20x9.5/21x12 are the same price as the stock sized 19/20 wheels. Yes, there are many options to get a wider wheels or other options that do add to the price, but the “normal” width are the same price. As for the finish, as mentioned in the video I was the first to get the Black Ghost Glaze BRUSHED Threshers. I didn’t say I was the only, I just said I was the first. At the time I ordered them, there were no photos Chet had of the finish. Most of the Black Ghost Glazed you see are Black Ghost Glaze POLISHED. There are likely more BGG Brushed sets out there now. All this information came straight from Chet. So that’s where I get my information. Anyway, thanks for watching. Have a great afternoon
If you add custom things to wheels like I did it will cost a little more but well worth it. I kove the idea to be able to upside width and special custom lettering and center caps.
19/20 and 20/21 are the same price for AEROLARRI C8 setups. That’s not normal in the wheel industry, but I designed the pricing that way to offset the cost of new tires for C8 customers. Yes, when you go wider than 20x9.5 and 21x12, the price jumps. 21x12.5 and 21x13 are much more rare sizes. Very few companies even can do that. Basically HRE and Brixton with $10-$12,000 per set. So the few extra bucks is nothing for those widths
talk too much
Stretched tires is never a good look. Shoulda stuck with stock size wheels. And you’re now also carrying more rotational mass. Not sure why guys think they know more than the Corvette engineers. And AeroLarri’s wheels aren’t the best anything. Get a grip.
Hey there. You seem to like to make negative comments on all my videos. That’s unfortunate. You are welcome to unsubscribe (if you are) and no longer watch. Have a great day 👍
@@SupercarRanch I’ve made all of 2 comments on your videos. Not a subscriber and never will be. You come across as ignorant and ill informed when it comes to the C8. The wheels are ugly and you got a goofy size that makes you slower. Deal with it.
🤣 haha. Ok. No more need to comment on my videos then. Thanks

I shopped for wheels for my C8 for over a year and thanks to Aerolarri I did not end up spending 10k for a set of real monoblock forged wheels. I was very lucky as if they had come out a month later I would of been stuck with 10k wheels that I did not like as much. Thank you for bringing them to the market Chet.
Any problem with the tires rubbing on the front? I have 20" and they rub on the mud guards when turning...
No rubbing. The Pirellis flat spotted when they sat for a while, so it messed with steering in my driveway sometimes, but once warmed up, it seemed to have no issues steering all the way to lock.
