Surprise Bonus Video..... So back in the build up for The Witcher Season Two on Netflix i started making a history and lore series for it based off book lore with some extra stuff from the games. In total i made five videos, but i never uploaded them. The thing is The 2nd season of the witcher was really disappointing to me so much so, i lost a lot of motivation in making and posting the series. I recently re-read the books and played the games again and it reminded me how much i love the series, not as much as say asoiaf but love it nonetheless. I put a lot of work into making a map for these videos and making the five that are done, and felt it was a shame if they never saw the light of day. So i'm gonna post one each week for the next five weeks as a little bonus video. This is and always will be primary an ASOIAF channel and this has no impact on my Westeros content, you will still be getting those four videos on top of this. I don't expect many people will watch this, and i don't mind that, this was more for me so i don't feel i wasted all those hours making the map. And hay if people like this limited series who to say i couldn't do a second channel.
I making a list of what kinds of things people are interested in and will definitely be adding your suggestions, i play d & d a lot so anything related to that is a given, my goal for next year is to start a second channel for non asoiaf content.
It's interesting to note that by the end of the book series the world is about to see the start of an age of exploration and horrible plagues and eastern migrations to Nilfgaard which already has slave operations on southern unkown lands.
At least one of the plagues was unintentionally brought back into this realm by Ciri traveling through space and time running from the wild hunt. A flea carrying the Black Plague from what is presumably our world during the dark ages managed to hop onto her while she was here briefly.
I probably will do more but might break them up into 'season' to allow me more time to work on them. They take a lot more work than the ASOIAF as the way the lore is structured is very different with it all being from the main books with not just lore building extra media. I mean even the wiki is very bare bones so the writing stage takes a lot longer. It's nice to cover a different series though, i love ASOIAF but do need a break from it every now and then
I'm still slowly working my way through the entire Targaryen history playlist so I don't mind the wait. Plenty of your content available to keep me occupied! I look forward to all of your vids regardless@@WorldOfWesteros
Loved this geography tour with some lore sprinkled in. I would truly love if you would point out notable history from the books and game (idgaf about the show) as you go through the locations. Like maybe where the Tower of the Sparrow is, or where Geralt meet Three Jackdaws from The Sword of Destiny, Dandelion and Geralt met Yennifer, or where Geralt helped King Foltest cure the striga curse from his daughter and came across The Beauty and the Beast-esk character and story from Last Wish.
Where'd you get this map? I found a number similar when i researched this sometime ago but this one looks much more detailed than the ones I've found? Also I checked the description, I couldn't find it there but if it is there I can't see it. Also if you could perhaps do a video on Arda, since your maps are superior to anything i can find, that'd be great
Great vid! With the new witcher games in development, I would love to see your speculation for what they can do given that they have a lot of room to expand upon the already existing lore
Yeah in terms of scale it's much smaller, we only get to really see a small fraction of the world, but i kinda like the 'here be dragons' vibe. One thing i will say is while it is smaller, it is a lot more dense in its detail. Just two very different approaches to world building

I was also quite disappointed with the Netflix Witcher series, never even bothered watching season 3

I would love to see some Witcher lore vids! Perhaps even more than the few already made, if you feel like it. I'll watch them all!

I'm not too sure where they could go with it, but i suspect they might travel somewhere more further afield than the Northern Kingdoms
