a wonderful Christmas present. My friend who's a bit older than me ran a drill when they were cutting the Adirondack Northway. It's still impressive to see the drill marks on the cliff sides
Thank you, Amazon how fast time has changed things. That was not even 100 years ago. I am in my 60s and have been watching as technology has grown in my lifetime. You do excellent work, keep them coming and, have a great 25th and a better new year.
I see you visited the Iron Mining Museum in Chisholm MN. Fascinating place. Hopefully there are a lot more videos coming for the rest of the equipment there.
The name and model may be correct, but this is called a cable-tool drill. Bucyrus-Erie, and now Buckeye, continued to produce cable-tools. I’ve run one for 3 years drilling water wells. Also, you empty cutting out of the hole with a baler tool after pouring water in. Other than that, very cool, I’ve never seen a track mounted one before!
Minnesota Iron Mining Museum in Chisholm MN. Lots of old iron there and scattered elsewhere on display on the rest of the Iron Range. I should do a list some day, maybe next summer.

There were a couple a machines I filmed there. I'm not a huge fan of filming machines at museums unless it's something very unique

Where are these rigs located ?? I grew up on the derrick floor and love these old cabletool rigs !
Einwandfrei ! 👍🏻
What was the range of motion of the drill string when operating , inches or a lot more?
Enjoyed🎅🎄🚜👍
Hi how mach is the machines is the dominican repobles naw
What are the names of the mines you film at? Surface mining is just about dead in Western Kentucky. Does anyone know?
I think it's sad Bucyrus Erie is no longer in operation
They are they just Bucyrus now, yes I know it's part of Caterpillar
Buckeye Drill in Ohio still makes parts for their drills and would probably make you a brand new rig if you wanted.
😍👍
😎
Was this shot at a museum?

I put geothermal in 2015, the driller used this method. I put it on my utube channel.
