Points for going against the flow with the ITBs and NOS. Like the very clean enginebay without waterpump, turbo, aircon and all that stuff. Maybe it would be possible to tip the engine 45 degrees to make it fit in a lot more cars.
A drysump or custom made sump is nothing compared to the amount of money, some people throw in a BMW engine or similar straight 6 engine to keep it from blowing up. A modified Barra could be cheaper then keeping the original engine and modifying that weaker engine to prevent it from blowing up. This engine in a Nissan 240Z could be cool.
Love those EF Ford's used to own the Fairmont Ghia model which had a tickford motor in it! Many things could've and should've been done to that car now that I think of it! 😲
Where is the Air Filter on this engine ?... 6 individual throttle bodies and I couldn't see an Air Filter?... Could someone please explain to me if it has one or not ?... I couldn't see so genuine question ?... Engine sounds awesome too. Thanks.
Nice! Great to see something a little different! Must have done some good balencing on that stock crank to spin it to 8000RPM! That in itself is impressive- 8000 on a stock crank. Their cranks aren't all that good for that kind of RPM normally. Even with most built motors in turbo Barras you don't generally see guys running more than 6500 - 7000. Love the car. Sleepers are sick...
Yes.. but the F6 Turbo Barra doesn't need to be at anything above 6500rpm. It's torque line [max torque] is literally a straight line and kicks in as low as 1900rpm all the way through to 5200.
@@Wakethefuckup67 That's if your soft and stay with the stock sized turbo. Run a bigger snail and that all changes. I use a GTX3582R with a 0.80A/R ratio comp housing with a 1.15A/R ratio turbine housing on my RB30. Much better than the GT3582R i used to run with the factory XR- 6 0.60 comp cover and the same aftermarket 1.15 turbine housing. The little factory turbine housing is a bit small even for a 3.0L
@@Wakethefuckup67 I agree with everything you've said here. I use my R31 as a daily (which i really shouldn't- it's got very race oriented and cost A LOT to build, even thou i'm a mechanic and did it all myself besides machine work) and a drag car. I specialize in performance motors- been doing this for a job since 2000, 19 yrs now. Mine is a totally different type of motor than yours. It's a lot of fun to drive. Comes on boost around 3500 but really starts making some power from 3800RPM. Matched with a nice loose convertor with some great help from TCE- it's perfectly matched to the engine's power band. If your happy with your car that's all that really counts. Sounds like it'd be a lot of fun to drive. If you ever find yourself wanting it to get out of the hole harder all you need to do is fit a slightly looser convertor.
