Professional leather worker here. You can use water on suede, just don’t soak the leather. You can use a light foam suede cleaner with some water to clean the suede and once dried you can use a light spray conditioner to moisturize the fibers and then finally brush with a firm brush.

@@StolenAliasthanks a lot man! The first two steps didn't do anything for the black stain on my new light colored suede shoes. But your final suggestion, using an ordinary eraser, worked! 👍Two days later I couldn't remember which shoe the stain was on... that's how good the "eraser technique" was!! Thanks for sharing this excellent tutorial!
Definitely going to try this. I've been watching "how to clean suede shoes" videos and they all promote their own products. Not trying to spend an arm and leg on products. Thank you!
I have seen professional shoe cleaners doing the following steps on suede shoes- First they clean the dirts with a hard shoe brush, then use normal shampoo water with an old toothbrush ( the surface gets wet), then use a rounded edge metal scraper(metal cover of the wax shoe polish box) over the surface to remove the shampoo water, then again repeating the same with normal water and removing the water with scraper and let them dry, if one have colour or conditioner..then apply that.
for the white part: magic eraser. for the fabric part: either laundry detergent, a shoe cleaner, or color safe/regular bleach (be careful) it’s always worked for my converse and vans
Another misconception about suede; it can't have water. I have €400 navy blue suede Flli. Rossetti summer loafers that I shampoo every year with Saphir's Omnidaim, rinse off UNDER THE TAP, dry overnight, recolour with blue Renovetine and spray with waterproofing spray. They are ten years old and look like new. Water on suede? No problem whatsoever.

You can use water to clean suede, just dont over soak the brush you use, dab dry with clean paper towels, allow to fully dry before bringing the knap of the suede up with a dry brush, by using a rubber you are removing some material, this can create bald spots or discoloration. Does work, but its not ideal. Some good tips.
Thank you! Each step worked wonderfully, and the video is concise. I went back to use the suede cloth at the end of all the steps. They look great again now! I have pink microfiber suede boots, so they are definitely necessary to clean. 👢💗

Omnidaim, arguably one of the best suede cleaners in existance requires you to mix it with water. You are definatly supposed tobuse water. Just make sure it dries the right way.

Be careful with the hard brush suggestion best to use a soft bristle
Try brushing with vinegar
Does it really work and remove the stain from a suede combat boots?
I used a soft brittle hair brush
