He would've been here to witness how this terrifying story began before his 1976 film. He would've been quite impressed with it.
0:45 The reason the first one worked was because they didn't over play the scene, this one in particular they had her look and act all creepy where as the original Omen, could've been a kindergarten teacher, acted normal "It's all for you" with a warm smile and we see her hang herself. Here we almost expect her to do something nuts, the director even left out a piece of the railing and having her wave - gee i wonder what she's gonna do next.

I agree. But this is just a reference to the iconic hanging scene. I don't thik they are try to beat it
The original (first) two Omen films had a compelling story, brilliantly cast with a superb score by the late Jerry Goldsmith (sadly missed) & i have watched them many times

Yes, I agree. I don't consider the final conflict or oman 4 cannon. Only the first 2. I really hope this preseqel is good so I can consider this cannon too
I remember when I watched this for first time ever on TV! , such a classic, Jerry Goldsmith's soundtrack a masterpiece!
The Omen is a masterpiece and Damien Omen II is a great sequel Omen 3 was a little ant climatic but Sam Neill is great. I always felt Omen 3 should of been Damien in college . It was too rushed. I liked Omen 4 better than that useless remake but they were both pretty bad. This one surprisingly is getting good reviews . Hope it's a worthy prequel

So memorable that you even got the decade it was released wrong

I think you're deciding on the plot yourself.. If you read the imdb cast list for the film you'll see there are listings for "jackal performers". Surely you don't want a trailer to spoil the whole Fxxking plot do you?

Are you sure, you probably just misunderstood it or something. The credits lists The Jackal so you probably missed some sort of plot twist with fake mother.
