Micah, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and love your videos. After some heavy working day its nothing bettet than watching this while having some amazing food. Please never stop.
The first time I ever set foot in the LA Coliseum was when the Rams first came back to LA. I was among the paramedics there for as medical standbys for the players. I’m not a huge football fan, but it was pretty exciting to stand at the 20 yard line for such an historic game. Really loving the videos. After watching your LA River video you referenced the sunset several times. I was wondering have you ever considered adding a couple of cameras aimed at your 3 & 9 o’clock positions? It could add some POV opportunities. Keep up the great work!
My wife and I were there in 1986 for a monster truck show. Evil Kneivel’s son Robby jumps over seventeen school buses on a motorcycle and made it look easy. Lived in Beverly Hills for two years after college and loved it. I love LA.
Went to the Coliseum several times in the '70s. My older brother went to USC and for Christmas he used to get me a ticket to the Rose Bowl. Would fly down from San Francisco on new year's eve and camp out on Colorado Blvd. That way the next morning we had front row seats for the Rose Parade. When it was over we'd all go back to my brother's apartment (3 blocks from Colorado Blvd,) and sleep for a couple of hours. Then we'd get up, get something to eat and head over to the Rose Bowl for the game. Those were the best New Years I ever saw.
they’re building the george lucas museum right behind the la coliseum. the banc stadium is for soccer events (Major League Soccer/MLS) and the team who plays there is LAFC (Los Angeles Futbol Club).
Loving the new format. LAFC (an MLS soccer team) plays at the Banc of California stadium. Their matches have one of the best crowds in all of LA sports. Non-stop singing and jumping all throughout the match. I highly recommend going to one of their matches, even if you're not so familiar with the sport.
My brother participated in track meets at the Coliseum back in the 60s, to prepare for the '68 Olympics in Mexico. I worked at many super cross events and monster truck events there back in the 80s. Fun times. Great flight. Thanks.
Last time I was in LA Coliseum I was 6yrs old (1998). My dad and I flew out from Dallas to watch the first supercross race of the season. I still remember the experience like it was yesterday, those guys racing up the stands and through the arches, then back down! 🤙🏼
I haven't seen the Coliseum since the Olympics in 1984, and I've never seen this view of it or the A-12 trainer at the CSC. This is awesome! Thank you.
Back in high school, my brother was in marching band and got to play with the Trojan marching band as a prize for a competition of some sort. Was an awesome place to see in person.
Great video! This brings back memories of when I was a kid in the 70’s. My dad used to take my brother and me to a couple of LA Rams games every year. He’s been gone for a while and everts time I see that stadium, I think of him.
My wife (at the time) and I went to the Coliseum in August of 1971 for a pre-season game between our Cowboys and the Rams. Then in June 1978 my brother & I (and our group of EMT's from Dallas) spent a LONGGGG day there coordinating EMS for a big amateur motocross competition.
Yes, I went to the Coliseum on October 13th 2019 to watch my first NFL game between the Rams and 49ers. I was 56 years old, I waited because I'm a life long Rams fan who lives in Maryland! You can see the problem right? Anyway it was a great experience and I absolutely love L.A. the city as much as the team! Thank you Micah, great videos man, keep them coming!
My first visit to the Coliseum was in 1972,a 8th grade trip from Scottsdale AZ. We saw the Rams play the 49ers. Been back many more times for ASU/UCLA games.
It has been mesmerizing watching all your videos during the pandemic-- even better than the Sana Ana winds on a good day. Thank you so much Micah. I'm for Palos Verdes Peninsula and Catalina. San Pedro was my old stomping ground.
I saw all the space shuttles launch and it was amazing. Especially night time launches. Would light the ocean in the light of the rockets, and as it got further away it would cast a dimmer glow that looked otherworldly.
Thanks for filming and sharing these. And yes, another Aussie who loves LA/California and cant wait to get back there. Your aerial views add another dimension.
I was there in 2013 actually to see the Space Shuttle at The California Science Museum. Had no idea the Coliseum was adjacent to the museum. Great history there.
I remember going to the Coliseum when I was a kid in 1957ish to see the Dodgers play, before they built Dodger Stadium.....Yeah I'm old. I love your site BTW.
Great vids Micah. Coliseum flashback to '84 Olympics and seeing Zola Budd and Mary Decker make contact with each other during the hyped 3000 meter event just 100 feet in front of me with Decker going down and not finishing the race. Thanks for pointing out the A-12. What an aircraft. Be safe up there.
Haven't been to Exposition Park for a long time. I remember when the California Science Museum was the Museum of Science and Industry. Hope to eventually get there to see the space shuttle. I worked at Rocketdyne when the shuttle program was winding down and the people there were very proud of their part in building the main engines for the shuttle.
My old stomping grounds. I worked at the Coliseum and Sports Arena (no longer there) for 25 long years. The BofC holds soccer games. The Sports Arena had everything from Pink Floyd to Madonna. Ah, the good old days.
This video was epic! We especially appreciated the slo-mos and the countdown to them so we could get closer to the TV! Appreciate, too, the names on the various locations. We used to north of LA, and enjoy the reminder of how cool all our visits to LA were. You have really hit on something that a lot of people want to see. Keep up the great work. Hope the Chamber of Commerce is taking note!
So cool! Thank you so much for making these! I had NO idea there was an A-12 Oxcart right there!!! I’ve been to so many USC games and not gone just over a little to see one of the coolest planes in Aviation History!
Thanks Michah...awesome video and so cool of you to fly and share it all...it's like being up there with you...when you get a chance USC please....I went to school there and miss it...especially living in Florida...so far away...
In the early 70s I was there for the International Speedway Championship race. I used to go to the races Friday nights at the Orange County Fair grounds.
Live in San Diego and you keep providing great places to visit! A few more place to visit once this virus stuff is settles down. Thanks again and great videos! 🤙🏼
Me too!! I also remember a few fun facts: 1. Everyone thought traffic was gonna be a nightmare. It was the opposite. Some two-way streets were made into 1 way. Also a lot of employers let their workers leave early. I think they started the day earlier too. 2. Crime was down. 3. The city looked great with all the banners that were put up and murals that were painted on the freeways. 4. Most people had smiles on their faces for those 2 weeks. 5. The song “I Love LA” was LA’s anthem even though it had been released the year before. It regained popularity due to: A. The Olympics B. Nike had an add campaign featuring a couple of Olympic athletes.
Forum would be tricky due to LAX airspace as they fly directly over the Forum on approach. Traffic approaching from the west (opposite direction) is rare and usually at night. I would be interested in the sports complex next door to the south. The complex replaced Hollywood Park for all you old timers... but as luck would have it-- that pesky airspace .
My first year at the Coliseum was 1959 to watch the Dodgers, then Rams play the Redskins in preseason, and finally the UCLA Bruin frosh football team. Was there for the 1984 Olympic Closing Ceremonies.
I used to go to Rams games there. Late 60's. Roman Gabriel and the fearsome foursome, Rosey Grier, Lamar Lundy, Merlin Olsen, and Deacon Jones. I was going to A&P school at the time.
Micah, you've got an awesome thing going here. Using your commercial ticket to film breathtaking views of places people want to see. I have some rotor-wing time (I can take off, transition to FF, and land from a hover). My best friend is a deputy with LA who has been with Aero for years. I have flown with them about a dozen times. That is the coolest thing you can do off the ground for sure. My request would be for you to hit some of the Orange County foothills (Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, and the area around Santiago Canyon and Rancho Santa Margarita). That is some of the most beautiful landscape around. Try and hit it before it turns brown for the summer. Keep up what you are doing. I used to fly RC helicopters. Watching your videos is like therapy for me that is free. Please continue.
THANK YOU for your awesome fly-over series of videos! I was born and raised in the L.A. area and everywhere you've been is very familiar to me. One of my aunts used to work at the Natural History Museum and we'd visit the area often to have lunch with her. I got lost in the Rose Garden when I was five years old, and performed at the Coliseum many times in halftime shows as part of the UCLA marching band (years before UCLA football moved to the Rose Bowl). I hope that someday soon you will be able to do a fly-over of UCLA and go down Wilshire Blvd. or Sunset and point out the landmarks there such as the L.A. County Museum of Art and the La Brea Tar Pits.
Man I remember when I was in my 20s volunteering at the CSS I first started in customer service (that was boring mostly telling people where the bathroom is) then I moved on to those carts magneto was my favorite. I had a special tour of new worlds and this was way before they got the shuttle there. Then when the shuttle was coming to the science center I remember being on my roof and actually getting a photo of the shuttle on the plane and even the jets escorting it until I finally saw the shuttle at the science center. Those were good times.
Cool, thanks for the fulfilled request! That place has changed a LOT since I went there. Shoulda pointed out the George Lucas Museum under construction. And yeah, saw a Rams game there around maybe 75 or 76? Don't remember anything about it except the stadium was lesss than half full!
I have been to this park many times over the last 30 years. The first time I went with my friend John the IMAX was in whats now the areospace/school? at the front of the park. The Science Museum I think wasnt open yet. Theres enough in this park to keep you busy for days! African History museum, Aviation musuem, Science museum with special roaming exhibits like the body, then the 5 story NHM in the back with several museums including the hidden GEM museum...Alone a must see! Oh then the football sized rose garden! Awesome place for a date! Hey dont knock it... worked for a freind of mine lol.
Big Trojan fan here. I still have ticket stubs for games with a face ticket cost of $1.50. Showing my age I know. Did you know that the 1932 Olympics opening day ceremony ticket could be purchased for $1.00. My dad was an usher during the 32 games. There was a worldwide recession/depression so some teams did not attend due to the cost and the stadium was not full at times. Great video Micah, much appreciated.
Eventually the orange shuttle fuel tank is going to be reattached to the shuttle Endeavour, and then placed both vertically in "launch position". They just have to finish construction of the building to house it first. It's the only remaining shuttle main fuel tank. It never got used because of one of the two shuttle disasters. It was next in line to be used. It's massive in size. Was delivered to L.A. from Lousiana on a barge through the Panama canal. Saw it in person as they transported it on city streets to it's current location. Very cool.
Man, I guess you read my comment thanks!!! I was at the Coliseum for a Honduras v Guatemala soccer game on July 15th, 2008. Man it has been that long! I have been also at the Banc watching the LAFC v FC Dallas on May 5, 2018. By the way at the Banc Football soccer is played.
I went to the Colosseum in 1995 for the Lowrider Magazine Super Show. They had steel plates covering the field and had the hydraulic hopping contest in front of a stage where I got to see a bunch or rappers including Ice Cube, Notorious B.I.G. and Da Brat. There was some kinda gang squabble towards the end of the show and L.A.P.D. rolled in with a helicopter and a wall of cops in riot gear to clear out the show. All attendees were pushed out onto one street and all the show cars were locked inside. Basically tons of lowriders who tired sunburnt and drunk were all on the street along with enthusiasts and random gangbaners....All from different neighborhoods and states and countries. The Energy was intense. It was crazy!
My old neighborhood back as a kid around 1948. Folk's bought a big house on 28th St., we rented rooms to students. I could here the Stadium on football games. Went with my Dad to post rooms for rent notices at USC. I was 5 years old. I think the house is gone now. Beautiful house, large palms in front, sprinkler system in the yard. Dad said it was the old Mayors house at one time. I loved California as a kid, we had a number of homes all around LA. Not nearly as many people then, pretty safe all over. Unfortunately we moved back to the Midwest a long time ago. Not sure I would like seeing LA now with so many people. Folk's would go to Knott's Berry Farm, Griffith Park, Catalina Island, Santa Monica, Palm Springs, Big Bear, San Diego and Tijuana. Have not seen California since 1972. But it's in my dreams.
In January of this year I stayed a block from here when working an event at USC and didn't even realize all this cool stuff was so close. I guess I will have to come back.
I really enjoy your videos, especially your helicopter tours of LA. I know so many of the places from TV and the movies. (Back to the Future Trilogy 35th Anniversary edition in 4K UHD coming this summer!) The locations where notorious crimes were committed, the bars and bungalows where the celebrities died, the secluded canyons. And Los Angeles is so clear right now. Afternoon sun is my favorite, and the whole of LA looks stunningly beautiful from the air. Let me hit you with some obscure trivia that relates to how people in LA always call it "the" 101, "the" 405, etc. There's this movie from 2000, Dr. T & the Women. I watched it just because I like Robert Altman, the director, and the fact that it was filmed in Dallas. Stars Richard Gere, Helen Hunt, Farrah Fawcett, Laura Dern and Shelley Long. Of course it's filled with the required list of every outdated Dallas stereotype imaginable. At least it didn't have any cattle. At one point the Doc and all his boys are duck hunting (I guess they drove to Louisiana). They're chatting and the character played by Andy Richter is giving directions: "You take the LBJ..." I laughed out loud. What is this, The Californians on SNL? Around here, you say: "Get on Central." "North on the Tollway, past George Bush, east on Sam Rayburn." ("the" Tollway being our only "the".) "Stay away from LBJ and 30. It's a nightmare all the way to the lake." "It's gonna be so much better when they finish that Stemmons project downtown." Here's my request: Sunset Blvd., from Hollywood all the way to the beach. I want to see what Trousdale Estates and Holmby Hills look like. Keep up the good work, Micah. Love those vids. Stay safe. C
I wss at the Coliseum in November for the Rams vs Chicago Bears sunday night football game, and in october against the San Francisco 49ers. And Soccer is played at the banc of california stadium, the Los Angeles sports Arena used to be there.
Aviation buff here as well ! Used to fly out of El Monte airport. Love your videos ! Just when I wanted to hit the back button, you offer a replay. Excellent piloting. Can't believe all of the new construction going on there ! Could you fly over the La Brea Tar Pits ? Always drove by them on the Santa Monica Freeway, but never got the chance to actually go there. Thanks Micah !
Thank you Micah, always incredible videos. There is always something that catches my eye that I look into afterward. Next to the LA Coliseum I noticed the new construction. I found out that it it will be the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, which will cost US$1Billion, and is a gift to Los Angeles from George Lucas (yes, of Star Wars fame. Yeah sure, Lucas has earned a lot of money over the years, but what a generous gift. Awesome!
Yes, love the Coli! Fight on USC ✌️✌️
Micah, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate and love your videos. After some heavy working day its nothing bettet than watching this while having some amazing food. Please never stop.
2:26 You didn't mention the contruction site right next to, on the west side of the coliseum will be the George Lucas museum. (Star Wars).
That place is going to be really cool looking when it's done.
The first time I ever set foot in the LA Coliseum was when the Rams first came back to LA. I was among the paramedics there for as medical standbys for the players. I’m not a huge football fan, but it was pretty exciting to stand at the 20 yard line for such an historic game.

Loving the new format. LAFC (an MLS soccer team) plays at the Banc of California stadium. Their matches have one of the best crowds in all of LA sports. Growing up in the 50's my family would take us to Natural History rose garden. We used to go to the Memorial Arena (no longer there) to see Ice Shows.
Can you plz fly over The La Brea Tar Pits :)
Yes, would also love a slo-mo of adjacent LACMA, their streetlights exhibit, and the giant boulder.
I haven't seen the Coliseum since the Olympics in 1984, and I've never seen this view of it or the A-12 trainer at the CSC. This is awesome! Thank you.

Thank you for providing a great escape to beautiful California for the rest of the country. Love your videos. Stay safe.
Great video! This brings back memories of when I was a kid in the 70’s. My dad used to take my brother and me to a couple of LA Rams games every year. He’s been gone for a while and everts time I see that stadium, I think of him.
Another wonderful video of SOCAL! Thanks!
My wife (at the time) and I went to the Coliseum in August of 1971 for a pre-season game between our Cowboys and the Rams. Then in June 1978 my brother & I (and our group of EMT's from Dallas) spent a LONGGGG day there coordinating EMS for a big amateur motocross competition.
thank you for flying over the Coliseum can you fly over the rose bowl next
It's nice seeing progress on the Lucas Museum also.
Jeff Franklin I was at that game too and it was my first nfl game too.
I was in the Coliseum with the Lakers in 2009 after their Championship Parade.
Great videos! Great music! Love the replays! Keep them coming Micah!
My dad raced in the coliseum for the Mickey Thompson off road grand prix. It was awesome watching the cars fly through the peristyles.
Yes. Went to the 1984 Olympics there. Absolutely Fantastic. Was there for closing ceremonies.
I saw all the space shuttles launch and it was amazing. Especially night time launches. Would light the ocean in the light of the rockets, and as it got further away it would cast a dimmer glow that looked otherworldly.
Labeling just keeps getting better and better--thank you!! So much to see!
Great to see those planes at the museum!
Great video. I see The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art well on construction from this aerial footage. It should be finished hopefully next year.
Thanks for flying over my neighborhood! So nice!
Thanks for filming and sharing these. And yes, another Aussie who loves LA/California and cant wait to get back there. Your aerial views add another dimension.
Don't know why these videos don't have more views, thanks for this as always Micah!
Thank you Micah for another GREAT flight and commentary. YOU the man!
I was there in 2013 actually to see the Space Shuttle at The California Science Museum. Had no idea the Coliseum was adjacent to the museum. Great history there.
I need to see that museum. Thanks MIcah for the flyover.
I remember going to the Coliseum when I was a kid in 1957ish to see the Dodgers play, before they built Dodger Stadium.....Yeah I'm old. I love your site BTW.
The Dodgers were still in Brooklyn in 1957. My first year at the Coliseum was 1959.
Dodgers first played in L.A. in 1958. Dodger Stadium opened in 1962.
In the LA Coliseum I have been fortunate to see the Rams play, both UCLA & USC football teams, and some sort of track meet.
I was there that day too! Probably sitting to your right.
Also attended olympic diving at the pool next door.
Nice I used to work at the California science center in the 90's for about 4yr right next door. They transform the place.
One of your English viewers here. I went to the Coliseum for the 1984 Olympics.
That was my suggestion thanks for taking it!
And thank you for suggesting it!
Back in the 80s-70s i saw many rock concerts and a few dirt bike races at the L.A. Colosseum.
I attended the Super Bowl of Motocross back in the early 70s. It was awesome in those days.

As always an amazing video. I was at the coliseum in 1994 to see the Raiders beat the Atlanta Falcons

1988 Monsters of Rock tour.

Banc of California stadium is a soccer stadium for the Los Angeles FC. Also the Rose Garden was used for the TV show Bones.
i went to the Coliseum to see the Rams back when they played in L.A. and also in 84 for the torch lighting.

Was there several times in 1984 when I was 12 for the Olympics. Even remember where I sat
Very cool.
Love watching these videos!
..actually did a half time show in my high school marching band for a Rams game, many years ago...
Man, I guess you read my comment thanks!!! I was at the Coliseum for a Honduras v Guatemala soccer game on July 15th, 2008. Man it has been that long! I have been also at the Banc watching the LAFC v FC Dallas on May 5, 2018. By the way at the Banc Football soccer is played.
thanks for this video cool I can see the full area of where Rolling loud in L.A is held
Thank you!! Rose Bowl and Forum sometime, please!
I'd love to hear more aviation content! I remember when I saw a Piaggo P180 fly over one afternoon, I was enthralled.
3:37 on the far left you can see the LA county museums A-12 Blackbird on display - though it's been out there so long that it's now a 'greybird'
Correct, as noted in the commentary.
But it's in my dreams.
wow ,,, thats spectacular.
Only ever seen the LA Colosseum on TV in 1984 from home (London,UK)
Love seeing your videos.
VERY NICE & COOL 👍👍 KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!🚁
If you ever have a chance. Fly over LAX in the "Hollywood Park Corridor". I love that route in the "Class Bravo". Again. Great videos bud!
Around here, you say:
"Get on Central."
"North on the Tollway, past George Bush, east on Sam Rayburn." ("the" Tollway being our only "the".)
"Stay away from LBJ and 30. It's a nightmare all the way to the lake."
"It's gonna be so much better when they finish that Stemmons project downtown."
Here's my request: Sunset Blvd., from Hollywood all the way to the beach. I want to see what Trousdale Estates and Holmby Hills look like.
Keep up the good work, Micah. Love those vids.
Stay safe.

Awesome!
Seriusly this has become my favorite you tube chanel. Look forward for new video postings great channel.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
