- A chocolate, strawberry and vanilla pound cake was one of Sue Li’s favorite childhood treats. In these Neapolitan Checkerboard Cookies, it grows up. The three doughs come together simply in a food processor, then they’re cut and stacked into a checkerboard pattern for cookies that both the young and young at heart can love.

I love how she was cheering on even when something went wrong, it can be scary when the thing you are making doesn't match the description. However, she sweetly says its okay to make mistakes and they will turn out fine, absolutely love her!!

I just recently started baking--thanks in no small part to an early Black Friday deal fulfilling my years-long desire to own a right-proper stand mixer--and one of the first things I made was some really fantastic sugar cookies... I started thinking about ways to zhuzh it up, and making something like this was what immediately came to mind. Definitely agree with so many of the comments; Sue is _delightful,_ and NYT should find any excuse to have her do more videos! 😃👍

this could translate as a bit finicky if you're not used to involving a ruler in your baking, but the entire process seems really meditative to me above all else, it begs you to take your time with it. and the fact that you get over SIXTY cookies' worth of dough as a result is fabulous!!!! three logs of dough oh my god!!!!
