I actually prefer this version. My original vinyl copy of HERE YOU COME AGAIN, purchased in 1977, had this version on it, and I loved it. Without the first verse (which was eliminated on the second recording), the listener doesn't know why the character in the song is depressed and "crying and feeling sorry", so the rest of the song really doesn't have any context.
One of my fav Dolly Parton songs. Loved this LP when it came out...Love it today. It was a GREAT L cover.
