I was never a big fan of either Parton or Rogers - just not my style - but the more I listen to this song, the more it grows on me. I especially like that for the first third of the song, Rogers sings melody and Parton does harmony, and then they seamlessly switch. That's awesome!

I'm from Venezuela, I grew up on the beach speaking Spanish, and I once fell in love with a man who speaks English and grew up in the mountains of West Virginia, and this song makes me miss what never happened, without even having been to his place yet. hometown I already loved West Virginia because I felt it through him, and when I finally went I knew that was the life I wanted, him, the mountains, children playing in the forest, him hunting in the mornings and me waiting for him with lunch Ready, but God had different plans for both of us, and yes, sometimes I miss that life that never happened. and when I listen to this song and close my eyes it takes me for a while to that life that never happened...
My husband was abused physically and had cancer as a child, when i met him he stuttered so bad he could barely state his name. Today he speaks clearly, is cancer free, and a great father to both our children. The victory belongs to Jesus!!

Hi Rhonda, how are you doing today
My mom loved this song. She passed away 2 years ago and every time i play this my heart size with sorow and joy .
Same hear, it gets me threw so much. I remember dancing in the kitchen with her. That little thing she did with her hand. It’s the little things I miss. I love you mom😢
I miss yours so much

@@KennyCrespo-t9dDein Verlust tut mir sehr leid.
Oh im so sorry for ur loss.2 years sounds a long time but it isnt when ur still missing someone. I hope ur life is happy though with a lovely family for support. ❤
This song reminds me so much of my late wife who passed away 18 years ago. It would have been 50 years this year and the lyrics draw my heart closer to her every time I hear it. I miss her so much. I know someday we will be together again ❤. My love always.
Each time we embrace a memory , we meet again with those we loved and lost . For the heart never forgets ! Take Care John 😢
@@peterlittle123 Peter you are so absolutely right. Beautiful words!
Wishing you all the best, and that you're love is still with you somehow
Rest assured my friend, you will. All that’s lost is found again.
The greatest country duet ever!!! No other song comes even close!
Jackson by Johnny Cash & June Carter disagrees.
Absolutely brilliant 😁
@@cgh7337 they had legendary careers, but nothing close to Dolly and Kenny. Johnny didn't have much of a vocal range and the way his voice 'shaked' sometimes it was like he had Parkinson's or something. And something about June's voice wanted to make you shove chopsticks through your ears
and written by Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, the Bee Gees.
Well maybe the Judds!!
I was never a big fan of either Parton or Rogers - just not my style - but the more I listen to this song, the more it grows on me. I especially like that for the first third of the song, Rogers sings melody and Parton does harmony, and then they seamlessly switch. That's awesome!
It was written by the Bee Gees.
This was a pop song about those 2 Best singers of falk .. I used to listen in 1984 in the radio was a succefully!!!
@@MrClassicmetalreally?!? i love beegees
@@cupknee In fact, the entire _Eyes That See in the Dark_ album was written by the Bee Gees. Except for a few that were written by Barry Gibb and another songwriter.
They also play various instruments on the album, and you can obviously recognise their background vocals in various songs. Like for example _Islands In the Stream_ 😄
Who else still comes back to listen to this heart soothing song ❤❤❤ 2023 still appreciating dolly parton and Kenny Rogers ❤

Rest in Peace dear Kenny. May God bless his beloved soul. This song is priceless and should without any questions asked be on the world heritage list.
When I was about 5 this was my absolute FAVORITE song. Every time we got in my mom’s car I would beg her to put it on. Now I’m 43 and it is still one of my favorites. ♥️
That is lovely!
Hello Stacey, how are you doing today?
I'm 43 also, and my mom and aunts played Dolly all the time. Ah, to be an 80s kid.

If not for my mom I wouldn't know this song
I remember hearing this all the time as a kid. man... once this song hit the air waves it took over. they hammered it. couldnt beat the chemistry and the harmony. it stands on it's own as a great song. two of the greatest managed to collaborate on a great song. solid country gold

I grew up on this one, early 80's?
So devastated to see that we are loosing some of the greatest legends and musicians that will ever walk this earth, he was such an inspiration to me and many others. His music will live on forever, RIP.
¿Cómo está la política en Venezuela?
