Vino Farms has a Bee Barn. Extra sized frames for continuous vertical comb making. Would love your thoughts and possible a interaction between the 2 of you.
I want to do single deep management. I am planning already for my winter/ spring set up for next spring. I like to re-queen to keep a fresh queen yearly. When would I plan on grafting (from my own bees) and replace my queen and still not allow my queen to go backwards in my honey production? Would I do this before the flow (when drones are flying) or after the flow has started or when the flow is over. My flow is generally over July 4th.
Sounds like Florida recommendations. The fact is is that that 10% art is also 100% of the work. How much that work actually happens to entail is highly dependent on the confguration one runs. All go together hand in hand. Configuration matters.
You have to take the queen excluder off for the winter months. What do you do if the queen starts laying in the medium box in the Spring, before you can get excluders back on.
Dr. Ellis, I'm starting up my first hive this Spring. If the medium is used for their feeding honey, would I put another medium or shallow on top after that medium is filled in order to have honey for my use? Great video by the way. Thanks.
"You can ask a room of 10 bee keepers a question and get 11 correct answers"-My dad.

Great common sense video. Thank you.
Anyone outside of agriculture zone 9 remove excluder early fall. I run mostly deep mediums. In spring they have to be split hard.
I appreciate you giving me permission thank you.

That's the theory, yes. What did you end up doing? How are your bees?
Hey dude and this is in Canada also ?
100% its all about the volume
Do you remove the queen excluder in the winter
Yes you should!
"How you manage" but beginners are not great managers yet. Even in Florida beginners need to start learning with two deeps???
