I had a Dragon fruit plant for 3 years and it didn't flower or produce buds at all, then i watched your videos on its 4th year, boom ! Now i have have my 1st dragon buds in 3 years :) Thanks alot man !
I have had two dragon fruit plants in small pots for many years. They have not been looked after yet still gave us one or two fruit per year. I have followed your advice and the next day massive change. Multiple buds that are now flowers. Who would have thought pruning and fertiliser would help so much. I now have multiple plants growing throughout my garden. They are in large pots with quality soil and fertiliser. Already the cuttings are showing growth. Thank you for your videos. Regards from Brisbane, Australia.
That was a Stewpendous moment I'm sure. Theres nothing better than hearing a bit of info, trying it, and it surprising the heck out of ya. Thanks Kevin from Epic Gardening.
I like the fact that you grow in a little space. I only have a little space too and have always wanted to do dragonfruit, so its a real encouragement. I watch self sufficient me and a few other channels, but their spaces are huge in comparison so doing a lot of the stuff just isn't viable.
Okay, I'm going To Try your Method for my Dragon fruit in this Season of 2023. I'm learning to grow and try on Dragon fruit. It's in the third year now. I didn't give fertilizer so no flower 😑
Hi Kevin I’m in Devon UK and I have just bought a poly tunnel to grow my dragon fruit in. Just planted all 12 of them and it will be interesting using your tips and advice if they produce fruit. Mandy
I see all the mistakes I have made with my dragon fruit. In summer it gets over 110 here, it's in hard clay soil. I need to tie it up better, replace the soil as best I can and see what it does. I also accidentally started a cutting, its small but happy.
hey kevin: the dragon is looking good. you didn't mention the competition between you and your " roommate ". how are his doing? bet you won...luck with flowerings, bro. carmine.
I would LOVE to get my hands on some (of EACH VARIETY) Dragon Fruit cuttings!? I have started some from seed, but I don’t think I have the patience to wait until they are mature enough to flower/fruit
Cant test it quite yet myself but maybe try spreading the plant pieces out a little more at the ends, not so bunched up and you may get more even buds through out the plant. looks like that one solo piece got more sun from all angles so the plant thought ok bud on this one then. TY for the epicness!!
New subscriber, I love your work. Definitely taking notes to improve my gardening. Unfortunately, I don't have much of a green thumb. I'm hoping this will help. I'll keep you posted.
Thank you so much for this series! I bought three little dragon fruits from Baker Creek seeds a couple of years ago and have had them planted in red solo cups since. . The largest one is several feet long, but only the size of my thumb thick. I'll be potting them up properly asap, I promise, now that I know what to do. New sub, five vids into a massive binge fest. Much love from Oklahoma!
Once those flowers open, is there anything I’m supposed to do to help them become the actual fruit? I bought my very first dragon fruit last month September 2024. We are now October 1 and I have several flowers just now appearing. I am in California and we are still having triple digit days to these plants need to go inside for the winter?? Help !! I love your videos by the way
My dragon fruit was doing awesome and growing quickly, but then I guess it got too heavy? It cracked at the base and one of the crawling sections broke off :( I let it go wild in our yard since they grow naturally where I live (Marianas area).
Hi I am having a lil “trouble” with my dragon fruit plants…. Done both from cutting and seed….. Please take a look once you’re free 🙏🏽 What it is that they’re taking FOREVER to grow. Any tips, tricks, advice or criticism much appreciated. Stay connected 🙏🏽
@@howtogrowdragonfruitplant7849 thank you very much for your advice. I have also connected and subscribed to your channel as I’m sure it will have great tips. Thanks again 🙏🏽
I did the same thing with a pink fruit. They sprouted. I transferred the sprouts to the miniature green house (the one with the compressed peat discs). They've been sitting in their peat pods for weeks now and haven't shown any significant growth anymore. They're about 1/8" tall.. How's it looking on your end?
when the get tip gets to that far curving down, it's about to flower soon. when you cut bottom part off, you might want to cut the wedges of the wings, to increase surface areas there.
I know that a lot of people use tomato fertilizer because of the large amount of phosfor. But anything with much phosfor wil do. And ofcourse the right time for feeding fertilizer is important
My plant is growing all the way to the top of my tulip tree about 30' tall. Now I'm worried w this massive weight it will break the tree. I should've trimmes it years ago.
Hey Kevin my dragon fruit plant haven't rooted properly, but its getting a lot of sun, so I wanna know what to do as it put forth a bud and another is shooting out.
Hi Erick This year my dragon fruit change the colour to pink.normally red outside.and the taste not as sweet . I have 11 plant.and i have 1 plant different variaty.but i dont know the name. I plant the fruit 2 different shape & culours some very red outside & some .pink outside Can you tell me why .how that happend .is it polination?
Was wondering if u could help me. I got a dragon fruit a couple of yrs ago and its skinny n tons of it coming outta the ground. And it's never had flowers or fruits. But I see u n everyone else have one coming outta the ground n growing upwards. Should I cut most of it off and leave one or wat do I do??
Hi kevin thank you for a very informative videos. I have germinate dragonfruits using paper towel after 2 weeks i put soil but have not yet repot them. Its been a week now and its still growing good. When can i repot them that it wont die?
Help!!!!!! I am in central Florida and we are having sooooooooo much rain and I have new dragon fruit cuttings that I am trying to protect and have grow. One is not doing well and the other split, what do I do????
Hi Kevin! I just subscribed to your channel and really enjoy your content. I've been growing my dragon fruit plant for a few years now but I've only been getting 1-2 fruits per season 😩. I going to try these tips to see if I could get more yield out of my plant 🤞. I placed it in a large pot (maybe not as big as yours), just wondering if you would recommend trying to repot it into something larger?
Yes. Bigger rootsystem means way more dragon fruit. You can also take 1 or 2 cuttings of your own dragon fruit plant and plant them in your new container. Also feed them chicken manure, wormcastings, organic coffee and bananapeels. Etc.
Hi, can you tell me how much I should water my 1 year old Dragon fruit plant? It has a huge flower and I am super excited and I don't want to mess it up. I've been watering it 1-2 times a week
I have grown a couple dragon fruits from seed. That was ten years ago and still no flower buds. They get plenty of sun, water, and fertilizer. What do you think the problem is?
Stop watering the plant for a while it'll stress to plant to trick it to bloom thinking it at the end of its life and need to produce seed for the generation. Once you got some buds start feeding it high nitrogen fertilizer to keep it healthy use as recommended do not over kill it with love
Get a cutting and the right soil, you will be very happy! Sugar Dragon is the best variety. It is a universal pollinator for all dragon fruit varieties.
What do I need to do to obtain one? I've been learning from your vids. I've been growing succulents for years. I absolutely love the taste of dragon fruit. I'm excited to get my hands on a cutting. 😅

Yeah, mine are doing much better mostly because he stopped taking care of his and they're in way too small of pots
@@epicgardening hopefully, you stole his cuttings!
Please show the cutting episode. How do you palm dragonfly fruit from seeds??
if you don't cut the young branches from the far end which have an average length ıt is very hard to get flowers.

is it normal to grow even more cactuses from one dragon fruit cactus and should they have some weird thorns at cactus?

I let it go wild in our yard since they grow naturally where I live (Marianas area).
Ah that's too bad :/ maybe you can prop that broken cutting?
Build a trellis... There are several methods on youtube. Search "dragon fruit trellis"

You could put a mirror to bounce the sun light to the back of the plant that way you get sun all over the whole plant
