I thought the cant is the spike that is canted to the side, as opposed to a peavy that has the spike straight out the end. I can't believe it is the log itself. As long as it works good the words don't matter.
hey, ive been working on an old international la and was wondering if you knew where the throttle is, most ive seen have a lever by the fly wheel but i have a set screw down below instead, am i missing something? I have a video of it running if your interested, its the first motor ive worked on like this.
There is a butterfly valve above the carb in the head. The head has to be removed to actually get to it. Pay attention to the orientation if you remove it so it goes back in the same way.
I just pulled the head to clean up the valve etc and cleaned everything up. I made sure the shaft and butterfly valve were moving freely and aligned properly. Got it running pretty decently, i thinks someone installed a set screw where the throttle linkage should be and i can adjust speed by moving the screw in/out. Runs good now that i lapped the valves. Thanks for the reply!
Come on Man, you got me on the edge of my seat! peace.
