Coming from someone who has a disability. Treating everyone with respect and dignity is a win win!

I love the 10 minutes of demonstrating how one should save the world! Not coming together in the street holding up banners „This is the end of the world and we are saving it“ but doing it the hard way. Being there when a friend needs you, appreciating his huge effort to overcome a medical condition that could have killed him and took away most of what he could do before. Refraining from doing everything for him but being there with him to appreciate the finished product. A perfect example for the motto „Keep up the good work“.

So many people choose to simply mail it in when faced with adversity. It is an absolute inspiration to see people like Ken do what they do with the less than favorable situation they may be faced with. I do not say that lightly. I have seen people give up and I've seen people persevere in a wide gamut of different situations. I want to be the person who perseveres and never gives up, as hard as it may be at times. It's by watching guys like Mr Jordan that reaffirms the fact that anything is possible. Thank you for sharing him with us and y'all keep up the good work!!

Such an inspiration watching Ken work through his challenges. If you get into a situation where you're cleaning up glue like you did on the inside of those chair joints, go grab a straw, cut off the end at an angle, so you have a point. Then use the point inside the joint and it just scoops up the glue like you wouldn't believe, great trick.

Your friendship is so inspiring ! I hade to get a brain tumor removed 3 years ago (at 28) and woke up paralysed from toe to finger on my left side (i'm left handed). I've recovered 99% of my mobility (some actions still feel ankward) but there is a risk that the tumor comes back and i may be incapacited again, so seeing Ken working regarless of his physical limitations is reassuring. I use my can’t hook for quite a bit of things. From shaking down a caught falling tree, dragging smaller branches across considerable distances, and above all else, of course, turning out thousands of pounds worth of logs with ease.
The tool really opened up a lot of wood piles for me.
One tool absolutely necessary in the field.

I used both a peavy & cant hook to move logs onto a wood miser which I sawed my port Orford cedar fence boards with. I was the helper as my friend was more experienced than I.
I know very few women do this kind of work, but my career was as an outside telecom tech, one of the first women to go into this trade in 1977. Now retired, I still love challenging myself doing odd chores such as milling boards.
I was a timid & shy young woman when I hired on back in the 70s with an all male crew. I took a lot of ribbing and practical jokes and other things from the male crew and sometimes would go home crying. My husband (who was in construction) gave me such wise counsel - he said every newbie on a crew gets this kind of treatment. You are smart and capable - just let it roll off your back and you will come into your own! And it was true - I had a very successful 32 year career in that field.

Cant hook is a real handy tool. I'm just a firewood cutter, but live in the mountains of West Virginia. Unless you want to cut wood standing on a 44 degree incline you move your logs some to make it easier. My dad suffered a severe stroke in 2001,he never fully recovered and ended up with alzheimers. Kudos for your friends strength and resilience. You're a good friend and would be someone I'd like to know in person. Keep up the good work.

Wonderful video, Scott & Nate. We can never have too much Kenny. My father used a number of Peaveys and cants on wood lots and in the mill, and maybe even on the river (although he think he left the log drives to the younger, more nimble men). I love that Peavey still manufactures these tools in Maine, 165 years after Joseph Peavey made his first one.

Count me in with those who admire Ken and his grit.
But I also appreciate your clarity about the peavey and the cant hook. I have worked in woods-related jobs since the 1980s. And it is hard some times to get the nomenclature and use of tools across to people. That goes also for chain saws and other woods tools, new and old.

There are times I worry about the inertia, the sheer enormity of learning the crafts that interest me. Things like, "man, look at what these masters can do - it's like magic, I'll never do that", or "learning this craft will take years to be skillful enough just to earn back my investment." There are a lot of reasons to doubt oneself, and plenty of arguments to not pursue these things that bring me joy. But you know what?
Damn the doubt. Kenny's got it figured out - when there's something you want to do, some sublime joy just waiting on you to have the courage to pursue it, well... that's what you do. The only time wasted was the time you spent doubting yourself. Thanks Kenny, and thanks to this channel in general for being so informative, uplifting, and inspiring.

I've been watching your videos for so long now it's hilarious, your channel is a work of art and an homage to hard work, from a foreigner on the polar opposite side of the world, I'd like to thank you for all the knowledge you put out. Greetings from Argentina from an Argentine fan, much respect.

Keep up the great work Ken.
From a young age I was taught to use both hands equally cause you never know when you may have an injury and need to rely upon your other hand to do the work or when working you may need to swing the hammer with the other hand.
