Thank you. I'm not a fan of the sheer time commitment of Descent so being to keep up on the lore without going through that grind is always nice. Unfortunate to hear that Chicago is likely under Roamer/Black Tusk control.

From what I remember from the little bit of lore that was in the various betas for Heartland, there was meant to be some sort of seed vault in Silver Creek (North east corner of the map). That might be the "installation" they're referring to.
we may have lost Heartlands but it seems the main story they had originally planned for it is still very important for Division series as a whole due to what it is revealed here. The matter for now is how will they give use the story for what was planned for Heartland now since the game is gone but the events appeared to still happen and is very important to the bigger picture.
I think they will incorporate Heartland into D3. Either the story, or a Survival type game mode.
It was canceled as a stand alone game, but I don't think it's completely dead, they put too much work into it.
I was half paying attention until Agent Hoskins and Hearts on Fire was mentioned. Actually listened to that book a few weeks ago at my desk at work. Very good book.

What little of the story I could get off the closed beta, the planetarium was an important location and was guarded by the reapers. By the time the player shows up, the militia had been wiped out and only the roller rink staff and the one agent hunting down her old boss was left. It's too bad, cause I really liked the murder mystery part of the story.
Interesting how much setup and detail for future plotlines is coming out of Descent, even Heartland which obviously hadn't been cancelled when these were planned and recorded. Have to see if the next batch of comms has more information on the same topic or if it heads in another direction - because there has been some back and forth.

I'm Fucking nerding out with these comms. The only thing that could've made it better is if they were able to get Katie Sackhoff to reprise the role. Maybe one day...lol.
While wasn't terribly interested in Heartlands, I do hope they make use of some of the story to add on to what we already have. Maybe even use it as a way to bring in the cell from the Crossroads series.
Now, it seems, it's not a matter of *if* Heartland is assimilated into the broader IP any more...but just when and how. As gutted as many of us are about Heartland taking an axe, at least there's some condolence that it lives on even if just in comms (for now, hopefully only for now).
Really wish the NDAs would be lifted so we can speculate over Silver Creek activity openly - without fear of ramifications. Then again... Hmm...wait...
I think with the sheer amount of assets heartland had I wouldn't be surprised if they reused heartland content for division 2 content, or if it's near chicago like I think, possibly division 3 content.

Since that's the same voice actor from hearts on fire, could we end up seeing another audio books following Agent Hoskins
I don't think its Katie Sackhoff who's voicing Agent Hoskins in the Descent comms. Given her prolific career, I doubt Massive would hire her again just to voice audio logs.
The one voicing Hoskins in the comms sounds similar to the one voicing Cindy McAllister

I feel like heartland was ended to be absorbed. Our community gorges down new content and complains. To keep things going, a buffet like heartland is perfect to pick through. Also, the division 2 story had some (successful) improv moments that likely made the story fork from what heartland had been based on.
Really hope they repurpose a part of the heartland map for a countdown or incursion mission.
I personally think it would make a great addition as a DLC to Division 2 or Division 3 but it must keep separate crafting/stash even more than hardcore because otherwise its just another over-geared PvP fest. I would love to make one great point that made Heartland the best PvP I have had in any game in years BUT NDA says I cant even make that point because I must give details.
Maybe NGN could sponser a petition to revive it
Wonder if there's any information regarding the other factions around America, mainly the spec-ops, the hackers and the outside resistance fighters?
Last that was heard, they were on a complete warpath for some SHD tech gear.

@@NGN I didn't think it was her voice, but you never know. They could have a placeholder VA, then surprise us later. I didn't think that Kelso's VA did the lines for the climax mission of last season either.
Is everyone getting only one com every time they complete the decent project? And can you get more comms if you go up higher level, or play the descent again a second time around?
Can they add Heartland to Divison 2 as a off the grid expedition or something?

I think its time for UbiSoft to focus on a legitimate Division 3. Im starting to feel like they're scraping the barrel for ideas, and I don't forsee any real DLC for D2 coming our way.
Personally, at this point, I yearn for the feel and story from the 1st Division and hope UbiSoft will return to their original form. I love the combat and level system of D2, but season after season(again, to me) just feels like my favorite shirt being rewashed way too many times.
Cancelling Heartland was a STUPID ass decision by Ubisoft. They finally had another new twist for PvPvE that I was pumped for. DZ is just trash in both Divisions now (even the level 19 one in D1). The ONLy Division PvP I enjoy is Survival in Division 1 but less and less people are showing up for Survival Sundays. Heartland was in a pretty could state last beta (cant say more because oddly NDA still effective) and they waited almost more than half a year to decide to ditch it and then they double down on XDefiatn, which was cool for all of 10 days and now YAWN the gimmick got old fast and offers nothing new like Heartland did. So Pissed at Ubisoft.

I’m glad for you who enjoy descent. I however thinks it’s about as boring as watching paint dry. I feel as a veteran of the franchise and grinding for years that I have too much time invested in weapons, armor and mods to want to play in a weakened state.
I’ll give you an example of what I’m talking about. It took me years of grinding in the dark zone to get the right Walker and Harris perfect adrenaline rush back pack with critical hit chance and damage I could roll a blue on. Imagine this work and investment of time multiplied in multiple builds. Not to mention maxing expertise. So forgive me if I give this game mode and seasons 2.0 a hard pass.
