Honda Civic 2014 1.6 i-Dtec and Android

- All the years I have owned my Honda Civic,
and that is from new in 2014, I have been dissatisfied
with the original multimedia center, it has not lived
up to my expectations at any time.
I then chose to invest in an Android system, it didn't go so well
I chose a top spec Chinese system with Android 11, 8 core CPU
6Gb system memory and 128Gb storage.
In addition to built-in TPMS and Dashcam with ADAS.

To make sure I got something that suited my specific car.
I sent pictures and model number and got the answer that they
had just what I needed and it was plug and play.
Unfortunately, it wasn't that straightforward.
I did however receive a harness with the correct connectors,
but almost none of them had the wires mounted in the correct
place in the connector to match the connector on the car
So no sound at all.
After much writing back and forth, they chose to send a
new wiring harness and Canbus connector, but when it finally
arrived it turned out not to fit the car at all!
I then contacted several companies in Europe to see if
they could supply a wiring harness for my Honda,
everything was negative.
No one could make anything for the Danish model
because the Danish Diesel version has a built-in amplifier
So what should I do, throw the system away and say that's it,
or try to make something myself.
I chose the latter option.
Ironically it was the one with the original amplifier that the European companies had mentioned that put me on the trail.
I carefully studied the wiring diagrams I could find, but I couldn't find exactly my version so I had to go by the color codes and connected all the outputs fairly easily.
Then I turned my attention to the amplifier and found out that I should be able to control it from the Android system and I found via the pinout diagram the wire in the car's connector that controls the on/off of the amplifier
and sure it worked.
I still haven't found the right Canbus wires yet though, but it's only a matter of time, but until then my buttons on the steering wheel don't work.
However, I have solved many of the Canbus-controlled functions by finding the control current in the car's system and then connecting it to the system using the pinout diagram

I had similar problem with my 2013 civic 1.6idtec goin from standard non touch to kenwood but I got the steering wheel controls working now. I had to go through two sets of leads and then made my own. I was actually lookin at upgrading to the same enonon one u have there

Rigtig god video. Jeg står selv i den situation at jeg skal til at skifte mit anlæg da skærmen er gået i stykker. Vil høre om du har noget diagram over de forskellige kabler som du evt ville af med. Og har du fået knapperne på rattet til at virke.

Hejsa, jeg har desværre ikke det rigtige diagram da det åbenbart ikke er tilgængelig for slutbruger, jeg har gode forbindelser ved Honda men det er stadig ikke lykkes mig, jeg har brugt de diagrammer fra den engelske udgave fundet på civicforum, og så selv fundet hoved og hale I pinout, det er ikke optimalt da forbindelser på rattet skal igennem en canbus decoder og der har jeg slet ingen pinout diagram på boxene tror jeg har 3 eller 4 forskellige nu og alt det jeg kan få til at virke er mute og telefon knapper men har droppet det igen da der så opstår problemer med andre funktioner i i-mid display

Hej Michael, havde du nogen problemer med statisk støj? Jeg har fået forstærkeren til at tænde med skærmen, men får dog en statisk støj, som umildbart skulle være grundet den indbyggede forstærker i bilen.

Men jeg kan så også se du skriver at du flyttede flere ledninger i det først harness som du modtog.
Det eneste jeg har gjort er at forbinde 12v til a21, så forstærkeren tænder.
Du har ikke et diagram eller kan huske hvordan ledninger skulle flyttes i connectorne?
@@viktor0907 det er nok der den ligger, der er en specifik amplifier udgang på din nye headunit som skal forbindes til pin 21, de andre ledninger jeg rodede med er til styring af instrument lys,usb osv
did you lose all the original functionality such as MPG figures etc
No MPG an trips still work on the i-mid display, the only problem is, that I now got no way to ajust the clock in the display this was done via the headunit before, so if I need to I have to reconnect the old unit, the clock still work

Kunne du forestille dig processen er mindre kompleks/bøvlet hvis man gør det med en Honda Civic 9th gen fra 2013 der dog ikke allerede har indbygget skærm, når jeg kigger på Aliexpress kan jeg se der nemlig sælges forskellige modeller ud fra om der i forvejen er en head unit eller ej i bilen.
Overvejer virkelig at købe sådan en android skærm til min Civic dog tøver jeg lidt da der lyder/ser for kompliceret ud og jeg ikke har prøvet lignende projekter før
Jeg vil næsten tro at det er lettere, der er en i en anden kommentar her i tråden som har fået det til at virke i en uden multimedie skærm

Great video! I'm trying to hook up my civic tourer but struggling to find the right pin from what i can see its pin 21 white wire to power the amp is this what you found i currently have no sound any help would be appreciated

Thanks for getting back to me, how did you power the amp everything I've read online states using the red wire from the head harness so I've tried running a ttap from the white to the red with a wire in-between also did you have to rewire all speak wires to the head unit harness. Thanks for all your help really appreciate this
I just needed the signal wire, power was in the connector in the wire harness already

Hej Michael. Har du været o kontakt med connects2 ? Der skulle man angiveligt kunne få den rette adapter - det fungerede på min gamle 8gen Civic. Nu overvejer jeg samme nummer med den nyligt erhvervet 9gen. Vil dog ikke gå igang med det, hvis det viser sig at du også har prøvet deres kit uden held.

Ja jeg var i kontakt med dem da jeg byttede og dengang kunne de ikke hjælpe mig, desværre, jeg har dog ikke prøvet at høre dem efterfølgende så måske de har noget nu

Det eneste svar jeg fik, var at de ikke kunne hjælpe da de ikke havde noget til den danske udgave som åbenbart er anderledes end de fleste andre udgaver
A tutorial on the wiring of the loom would be excellent even the canbus please. I'm having the exact same issues. The stereo is on but no audio. Buttons not working

I purchased a pioneer dab360 and got several different wires from several suppliers but not one works!

I dont think that it would help you for the Danish version is different to all other countries version, i did find different wirediagrams in some of the civic forums but no one fit my version, I did find that pin a21 in the 24 pin plug on the car side need a amp on signal from the headunit as the danish diesel version has a build in amplifier so that was what I needed
I have a uk version, the wires and connections are exactly the same as you see.
I do have an amp in my version, mine is a 1.6 I-dtec diesel if that’s any good?
I will try and find diagrams in the meantime
@@djchunk8633 Okay, great to hear that, I did not find someone with the same setup as mine in any of the civic forums, when I needed it, I will try to find what I used, (diagrams,etc) but its pin a21 in the 24 pin car plug that needs to connect to the amplifier wire from the headunit, in my case its a blue wire from HU, I took a pin from another plug that fits and soldered it on

Nor can I, just pull the power ( at battery terminal) at midnight 24.00/00.00 and reconnect

I have the same model mine have a sound problem. I contacted the plugs except AMP MUTE and ANC CHK2 which are in the same plug i couldn't find a plug-in place for the in the new android 11. I hope you can help me with that I searched for two weeks now and you are the only one the same model. Thanks

If you have a 1.6 i-dtec then it has a built-in amplifier that won't turn on with the wiring harnesses from aliexpress or amazon, in my case I connected the amp wire from the android system, I think it's blue and marked AMP and not connected to anything, I have connected it to pin a21 in the 24 pole connector and it works

@@yae-yp2zn it's the plug in the middle of the clip at 1.37 min, the one that can be locked with the white lock, if you don't have this , then it's not the same as my model and I must owe you an answer, because then I don't know, sorry
