My 2016 MK9 came without sat nav, this video will be very helpful as I have aquired both Honda sat nav unit and gps antenna. Thanks again for your help.
Yes if it came without the nav then it can be changed to a aftermarket system, and a facia and wiring conversion looms are available. Thanks. Mark @ MAS Audio
@@MASAudio What kind of an aftermarket system u are talking about? And wiring conversion looms? Where do i find all this things? And another thing, is it possible to trick the head unit to think that i am standing still, but i am actually driving? Thnx for the video btw, nice work!
Hi I have almost the same model. Can you tell me please what model of antenna you've used to replace the original one or where can I find the original gps antenna? Thank you
Tried to upgrade the screen but wasn't able to go to the end so i put everything back together but now imid screen doesn't display and the keys aren't locking anymore.. Is it supposed to go this wrong ?
Hi my Civic came without Sat Nav, I want to get either a second hand unit that has it installed or an after market version that will keep the existing functionality, like reverse camera and iMid screen etc. I haven't got a clue where to start or anyone that helps with this sort of thing, any advise would be really appreciated

Can anyone, PLEASE, tell me how to get to the back of the small Honda IMID display? I'm trying to access the 32 pin cable at the back of the screen.
Struggling to find the answer to this online, but if my Civic already has a DAB antenna (shark fin on roof?) and a microphone, do I have to change either of these if installing an after market head unit? Or can I just use the existing antenna and microphone and just plug them into the new unit? Thanks!
I have the same unit and want to install a rear view camera. Most kits available require the cam to connect to the unit but I'm not sure this unit is ready for it and it seems a bit af a hassle to take it all apart more than once :) Do you happen to know if it is ready to accept a cam?
most of the units are different so i couldnt say with 100% confidence, and some use the smaller dash LCD for the camera, not the headunit. Thanks Mark.
This video helped me a lot! My satnav screen was stolen a few months ago and I purchased an original OEM head unit on eBay and through this video, I was able to re-fit the head unit myself. The only issue I am having is low volume for the audio, though it works. Any suggestions? wiring issue or could it be an amp fuse blowing out? appreciate your thoughts
Did you get a code with the new unit or was it already decoded ? How did you find the code ? I’m having problems with mine and i just got one off eBay but it’s locked with a code and i can’t find if you can help mate ?
Great Video, Thanks for this. You wouldn't happen to know the stereo product codes definitions? I noticed you have a TV1-E63 Unit. Mine is a TB9-E72 unit but can't seem to tell the difference between them and need to replace my unit with another one after a crack in the screen appeared.
Hi, Do you have a guide for removing the iMID screen? I am replacing the stereo unit and need to find out what type of contact my reverse camera has to be sure I can connect it to my new stereo. I assume it is connected to the iMID screen.
Hi. I have a 2013 Civic 1.6i-dtec Ex with the premium audio pack with a DVD player symbol on it. However I've tried to play DVDs when stationary but it doesn't seem to work. Have you any ideas please?
Hi, i have a Civic 9th "X-Edition" Connect Navi with DAB +(almost the same car, only LHD). I would like to replace Obsolete Honda Connect with a Xtrons TW709IPL, retain, if possibile, the original front fascia panel, original shark DAB+, FM and GPS connectors (rear camera, also and the IMID functions): do you have a Honda Connect connectors photo or diagram (or, even better, the model of adapters i need)? For this car i have found almost zero information. Thank you very much

This video saved me £150. You're a legend.
Looking at a similar antenna based problem with a 2013 Honda Pilot, thanks for this video. Gave me a bit more info than I had. Cheers!
thank you, great video, very useful even for left hand drive
Thanks for your tutorial!!!
this video has made my life a lot easier - thank you . i had also sent an email to follow up
Good video, just a quick question, I have the same honda but it came without sat nav, is there a way to have it installed or loaded onto my unit

Hi mate.
I have the same civic 2015 but I haven't find navigation on it.
You know how to install it?
Hi
I have almost the same model. Can you tell me please what model of antenna you've used to replace the original one or where can I find the original gps antenna? Thank you
Hi, I have the same model but the SW is on the left is it the same procedure just mirror parts? thanks
Very useful. Is there enough space to install an loc?
Yes there is room behind the stereo.. I would recommend a Vibe powerbox amp with high level input though.
Is Honda civic tourer 1.6 SPO (2014) Support multimedia carplay?
Tried to upgrade the screen but wasn't able to go to the end so i put everything back together but now imid screen doesn't display and the keys aren't locking anymore..
Is it supposed to go this wrong ?
Does anyone know if you can install that screen on a 2014 car that has the standard head unit.
Great job!
Thanks!
Hi, this looks like a similar stereo to what is in the FK2 Type R. You don’t happen to know what loom wires are rear left and rear right speakers?
Not from memory I dont I'm afraid.
remove and replace plugs untill rear speakers go off then you know
do you know if there is a subwoofer connectique on the radio system ??? the option is premium audio but i think that the connectic exists
No use a line converter or an amp with high input.
Thanks man, that dashboard is really complex

You can use the dab antenna with an adapter lead, you have to use the mic that comes with the new unit though.
@@MASAudio Great, thank you :-)
My vent is broke. Do I follow the same steps for this to get at them as if the stereo needed removing?
Yes the vents are attached from the rear of that front panel 👍
Brilliant. Thank you

@@soundlab8439 Hi bud, the code was locked so I had to get Honda to unlock it. They are sadly, the only ones who can. Its about £60 to get it done.

Not so far we dont but we may do in the future.
Where can i get the gps antenna ?

Hi.. it might be a DVD Rom which is only used for navigation discs.. it's not the same as DVD Audio/Video.

Sorry I dont have that information, I would normally just take it apart and look myself.. thanks, Mark.
can you please tell me the part number for this radio. thanks :)
Thanks
Hi,
Your video is not complete, can you tell me how to remove the imid screen, ?
That wasn't the purpose of my video, and no I don't know how to remove it without doing it..
