    @RerailMe The gauge is the same 4ft 8 1/2in, but the clearance diagram for freight trains is much greater 10ft 2in wide and 23ft tall versus about 9ft wide and 12ft tall for subway cars.

    NS6677 They didn't get fired, just a 30 day vacation pending investigation.

    NS has much better track maintenance than CSX, they are just a better all-around railroad than CSX is. NS doesn't have many derailments at all. Of course when Altoona was PRR track, PRR did a fine job of track maintenance until the late 60's when they started going downhill before merging with NYC.

      How do you know NS has better track maintenance than CSX? I'm looking at this accident on NS's track.

    Good video and you know what in almost every video I've watched that involved a collision, crash or derailment there is a Operation Lifesaver Unit. Kinda Ironic.

    that was a typo but that is money all over the yard. this train was bound for Washingtonville from Bailey Mine in Pittsburgh. they can't leave it on the ground so they need to clean it up and get that coal back in a gon and on its way to the power plant

    I would like to know if freight trains like these have a bigger gauge than subway trains. :) I have lived all my life in Newyork but the frieght trains look bigger to me.

    • @johnblair8146
      @johnblair8146 2 роки тому

      There are two subway systems in New York City. The BMT (Lettered Lines) and the IRT (Numbered lines). IRT cars are smaller than BMT cars for clearance reasons. The BMT cars are a little smaller in cross section than equipment used in the general railroad system. All use a 56.5 inch track gauge.

    Why did you not move right and show how close the derailed car was to the moving train?
    Why did you not show him close the switch?
    Cause of derail?

    Have you ever watched coal burn? It turns colors. It puts out amazing heat. It burns a long time. I see why people all over the world used it in their basement furnaces for so many years.

      Yes, the radio signal stops at about 3 miles depending on terrain.

    Give enough power for the train, and you have no limit on the number of cars for that train.

  • @DCxViper

    Between CSX and NS they seem to always have more derailments then UP or BNSF. I wonder why? bad tracks or crew.but they are good companies but need to do a better job not wrecking so much.

    • @Heroduothecomedian
      @Heroduothecomedian 5 років тому

      I think it has to do with them more or less buying some many different railroads for their business and not checking on alot of these old tracks they got when they bought out other companys and pretty much leaving them alone unless its a main line track or one used alot and and track rotts and rust away eventually and dont do anything about it until something bad happens which is stupid for a business to do in my honest opinion

    The train that past next to the jungle at 3:23 -5:48 = 90 cars!!! Uff! Dont want to see THAT derail! The safest cars are the last cars unless going backwards.
