- A vintage classic for you here. Much loved by the LA session guys and for good reason. The Arion SCH-1 gives you that dripping wet chorus that was made famous in the 80's. Possibly my all time fav chorus pedal.
I got my first chorus pedal ever, two years ago. An Arion. Made in Japan. Then I got two Arion chorus pedals from Sri-Lanka. Then, I bought four Arion flanger pedals! Dated? Yes. Do I have other chorus pedals? Yes. But my first love, is the Arion. Thank you God. I am forever thankful.
I owned two of these pedals in the mid 80's...they sounded so good.

So glad my ex-gf gave me one of these back in 2001... Said she didn't want it anymore and didn't care about it.

My first Chorus Pedal I ever bought in 1988, it was noisy but did have a nice chorus to it
Ive got one, came with an amp I bought for not very much... Amp is long gone, pedal was the gem of the bunch.
This was the first chorus pedal I bought back in 1986.
Still have mine I bought in the '80s. The effect is kind of dated anymore but when you need it, wow, fantastic.

Set switch to stereo then use 2 leads out to amp/mixer pan left and right... great sound.

Amazing chorus! one of the best I've heard... but I almost prefer the Yamaha DSC-20M. More flexible and even more lush and organic than the Arion SCH-1 (I own both pedals "made in Japan")
A man of culture! DSC 20 is a secret gem 👌 it sounds amazing, almost like a tri chorus/dimension d combo
these are now highly desirable and not at all cheap. i like the Visual Sound Liquid Chorus - again, an analogue chorus.
They're only $50 on eBay. It's the new ones that are expensive.

the problem i find with mine is that it makes the level louder when i use it, which i find rather annoying!

i wonder where this arion will stand..when compared with the legendary Boss CE-2?
no match in my mind, the arion is by far the better sounding pedal.. but if the ce-1 had a smaller footprint (pun intended) then I´d have a boss chorus AND an Arion on my board LOL

someone here mentions liking his Yamaha DSC-20M better - that's fine, but the big difference is that the SCH-1 can be run in stereo and man does it sound killer!
Yamaha DSC-20M also can run stereo. Both are my favourite chorus pedals, I keep owning both and I´ll never sell them for nothing.
Arion sounds amazing! very organic and clear, and the tone knob, like the user´s video coments, is a great featurer. Yamaha also sounds amazing, is very flexible (it has 3 types of chorus) and has a more vintage and even lusher sounding. I love them both!!!
I looked thru the other Toneshack posts and don't see the SCH-Z vs SCH-1 comparison that they were going to do. Anyone know where it's at?

There’s something special about these Sch-1s. Definitely closer to a tri-chorus than the Boss CE-2, which is also cool. My go-to.

Chorus. The Chorus pedal with a sound similar to that of Arion is the Boss Ce-1 and Carl Martin Classic Chorus.

well you can't get that scofield sound turning it all the way up, but it's not disgusting either, at least for me..

I have one of these that turns on etc but only works if I put pressure on the tone knob I have to touch foot on tone knob for it to make sound any ideas?
Does sound pass through it if the pedal is off? But when you turn the pedal on the signal cuts? Could be a shorting issue, take the back off and check for any obvious components touching things they shouldn't or bad solder joints
